It appears there is no Fish Extender group here on DISboards for this cruise. It looks like someone was going to organize it, but then switched cruises.

Hopefully someone will step up and start a FE group.

I hope so! My kids are so excited about it. If I knew what I was doing I would do it but this is the first time we will be doing the FE thing.

This will be our second Disney cruise but first time doing the FE thing. We are really wanting to do it because the kids think it will be so much fun. I hope a group gets started.

Hi! We will be cruising and we will be doing the FE. We are going with a group and we have 4 cabins booked. There are 5 kids in our group ages ranging from just shy of 3-12 years old. We are so excited!

I hope so! My kids are so excited about it. If I knew what I was doing I would do it but this is the first time we will be doing the FE thing.

SETTING UP A FE GROUP

It appears there are a number of you who are interested in a Fish Extender group. There isn't one currently set up here on DISboards. Here's a little write up on how FE groups are set up:

There really are no "rules" as to how a FE program runs. Basically someone maintains the list of those who wish to participate. The group can decide on what information is necessary to produce FE gifts. A basic list may only have DISname/room number/number of people in the room. A more involved list could be first & last names/ages/room number/favorite character/favorite color/allergies/whatever is deemed necessary to know in order to create the gifts. Also a decision can be made as to size of FE. Some groups break out the list(s) at 10-15 rooms max, so that there are multiple lists (and some people will participate in more than one list). Other groups just make one big list (upwards of 20-30 rooms).

At some point the list will "close". Typically this happens 30-45 days out from the cruise, so that everyone participating has time to organize/prepare their gifts. Shortly before this time (about 2-3 weeks prior) the organizer will either post the list (usually via a conversation is best, as that's more private), or directly on the Cruise Meet thread, to confirm everyone on it is still participating. It’s important to make a statement about"anyone not confirming by XX date will be dropped"at this time. A little harsh, yes, but often there are people who will post on the cruise meet thread as soon as the reserve the cruise and say “I want to participate”, and are never heard from again.

Once the list closes, the organizer will post the final list. Also, a decision must be made as to whether to allow late additions. Sometimes there is a "pixie dust" list. That is, basically, a latecomers list that gets posted about a week out from the cruise that others may or may not add to their "final" list. Be sure the "pixie dust" list participants realize they may or may not get gifts from others, but are expected to provide gifts for the other FE participants anyway.

We are on the cruise - how do we get on fish extenders

We are! This will be our 7th Disney Cruise and first time cruising with just our family of four. It will be me (Rae), husband Bruce, son Tom (16) and son Zack (14). We live in Zionsville, Indiana just outside of Indianapolis.

We did the private mixology last Christmas on the Fantasy and it was a lot of fun (and interesting). Consider us in!

Keep us updated on the FE groups. Last cruise was our first FE. It was great to get and give gifts.

Mixology sounds fun - we have 2 adults and a 16 and 12 year old. Want to be part of FE too. This is cruise #6 but have not done either please advise

OOOh if you want to organize that would be awesome - I had voluneetered but would love if someone else could. I am a headmaster and we leave the day afters school gets out so I know it will be crazy!

Happy Saturday!
Since it is a rainy,yucky day here in TN I thought what better thing to do than pick some excursions.
We are going with Jewel beach break in Jamaica, Family beach day at Tiki beach in Grand Cayman, and Cozumel is still being decided. Castaway Cay we will spend the whole day on the beach. We tend to be one of the last families back. Only thing to decide is if I want to run the 5k. Any body else know what they are doing? Suggestions for Cozumel?

Also, I noticed I forgot to say our cabin number for the FE in my first post. We are in 8563.

Happy planning! We have at least made it to the year we get to cruise.

We would like to do the fish extender please, even though our kids aren't so little. They enjoyed it so much last time that we want to do it again anyway. We are from Plainfield, IN and this will be our first cruise! I have two boys Quentin(14), CeJay (12), and a daughter Ava(5).
