Disney Fantasy Eastern Caribbean December 14 2013

Jim and I are excited to be on our first cruise ever. We are looking forward to doing the FE exchange and now our grandson will be joining us in our state room. His name is Ryan and he will be 9 at the time of the cruise.
His mom and Aunt and cousin Etta age 2 will be in another stateroom down the hall. They would come to the pink ladies party if there is still room to put their names on the list but will keep a low profile for most of the cruise I think.

Found an ornament for the exchange and still trying to decide about what to do for FE gift's, first time around there is so much to see, do and learn! But we are excited and looking forward to meeting many of you on the cruise.

Have any of you done a Snuba excursion before? If you have we would welcome your feedback.

Thanks for updating the FE Lists, I had not even checked before I requested the changes I just put on the board. I really want to thank you for all you have done. Keeping this up to date is not in my skill set at all... Hope my requests are not a Problem My daughters names are Laura and Jenn Ponder for the Pink Ladies Party. One of them gets really sea sick sometimes so May not make it, but if you needed the names and numbers for the reservation-see how long ago I read a post-- I wanted to add them for sure.

Happy Friday Everyone! Does anyone know what the supposed dining rotation would be for adult only party? I had it in one of my advice books, but went to the mountains for a long weekend. It’s getting close!

I've read a lot of Disney Cruise reviews, posts, and websites and have not heard of an adults only dining rotation. There are essentially three rotation variances based on the first restaurant you start in so I would imagine adults would just be placed in one of those rotations. We have young kids and typically find our rotation when we arrive.

Really Quick Tip: when you arrive at Port Canaveral and check in you will receive your room keys. Look closely on your key cards because your dining rotation will be printed on the cards - you just have to decipher the various codes. So for instance if you have APRCEG then your first dining room will be Animators Palate followed by Royal Court and then Enchanted Gardens. Repeat this rotation until your cruise ends!

We are getting closer to the cruise!!! We were able to book our Palos and shore excursions last night! Palo reservations were available for all times on the days we checked - this included both brunch and dinner. I HIGHLY recommend that if possible everyone try to schedule a Palos dining experience at least once on the cruise. Believe me - you will thank me later for this suggestion. We heard about the Rainforest Room in the Spa and are definitely going to purchase a one day pass. I found a form for the pass on the website under the Planning Tools > Onboard Gifts section. Also in that section you can pre-pay for photo packages. Unfortunately our cruise is not yet available for this purchase but it should be by late October. If anyone is interesting in paying for the photo CD, photo book, or pre-purchased picture packages you may want to check back then. Photos taken by the Cast Members are usually pretty pricey - $20 for an 8x10 so decide for yourself if these packages are worth it for you. Can't wait...the cruise is almost here! Now back to the FE gifts.

There is a photo book option? I was just going to use my credit for the photo book from photopass, but if there is one that the cruise offers I would buy that instead and save my other one for the parks when I go back:)

Hey y'all! I just joined this thread (not to mention I'm new to Disboards!)
We've had the cruise booked since about last October or so. It's so exciting that it's getting so close finally. I filled out the info form on the webpage for the cruise. It'll be me (Sarah, 21), my dad Keith, my mom Barbara, and younger sister Rebekah (17). We've been on one other Disney Cruise, back in 2009 on the Magic. We have main dining. Not sure what stateroom yet.
Now to go back and creep and read about what y'all have been talking about for so long! ;)

Wow! Didn't know we could pre-order photo packages. Is there any savings in tdoing this or is it more of a convenience thing?

We tried snuba last year off the coast of Maui on the Disney Hawaii cruise. We have snorkeled quite a bit over the past 7 or 8 years and love seeing the ocean life, so we paid the extra to add snuba to our snorkeling trip to Molokini Crater. I enjoyed the excursion overall, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the snuba for a couple of reasons. First, we were only underwater for about 15 minutes. There are two people tethered to each raft by a 15 foot hose, so you can't travel very far and you really can't swim much at all, you just hang underwater suspended on a hose. Also, the tour provider had a full boat and quite a number of those doing snuba, so by luck of the draw we dove at the second snorkeling site where visibility was lower and the bottom was about 30 feet down. We saw some sea turtles, but they were mostly just green blobs swimming 40-50 feet away. There were a few fish around us but not a lot else to see. My wife didn't really like the new experience of breathing underwater and said she would stick to snorkeling in the future. On the other hand, while I disliked being tethered and not seeing much, I came away convinced that on the next trip I would be certified to scuba dive. So this summer my son and I paid $200 each and now have our certification. We will be doing the 2 tank dive in St Maarten.
Snuba was a novelty that was interesting for the brief time it lasted, but I actually enjoyed the snorkeling much more on that trip.

I'm not sure since I haven't purchased the photobook before. You will need to wait until our cruise is available for selection on the Disney Cruise Photobook website to determine if they will be offering any deals. Otherwise it is a convenience to pre-purchase ahead of time instead of waiting to get onboard.

Hi Everyone....I am really, really late on this one. We cruised with Disney to Alaska a couple of years ago and I was totally on top of getting on the FE list. Is it too late? No worries if I am, but thought I would at least ask!

Can't wait for this cruise!!!

My husband, my 9 year old son and myself will be joining everyone. Woo Hoo!
