Lianne~

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!!!
Over the weekend my girlfriends and I went to go see Magic Mike. I know there is alot of hoopla about it, but I actually didnt think it was all that great. Yes, Tatum Channing has a great body and he sure can dance, but other than that...eh. I will tell you what movie is hysterical-TED. I wasthe whole time. Too funny! So if you're going to go see a movie over the 4th, dont waste your money on Mike...save it for Ted!

Thanks that is kind of you.She was kind to us and made landfall to the east so we didn't have any ill effects from the storm. Since we we had massive amounts of flooding less than a week and a half before, I was extremely nervous.
Sorry I didn't come back and update everyone. It's been a bit hectic worrying about grades, starting new classes, and family issues.
Been a bit stressed waiting to hear what my grade is (comes out on Tuesday). I don't believe I've mentioned it before to the group but I have hearing issues (which makes my job of talking on the phones a bit ironic). Basically if you are talking too quiet I can't hear you at all. The problem I ran into was I followed the syllabus for one of my assignments (and our professor constantly said one thing and wrote another). The professor wanted x pages and no more. He had specific items he wanted to make up three of the pages (table of contents, title page and references) so I gave him 10 pages as requested. He said in class at some point (which I didn't hear) not to include those items in the page count and I didn't know so I did. So I discovered afterwards that I only turned in 70% of the info he wanted. He gave me an 82 on that assignment (which I felt was generous since I lacked so much). So now I'm a bit nervous. I know on the one paper I got an A and on the second I got a B. So waiting to see how our group paper and final exam scored for the other half of my grade. If I made a B or better I get reimbursed from my work for tuition.
As far as family issues, my mother and step-dad have been traveling the country from the past month or so. They were expecting to be back home around late September. They ended up in the hospital two days ago where they discovered that my step-dad likely has cancer. He has a "suspicious mass." With my mom being a doctor she thought with his original symptoms that he was having issues with his appendix. So here they are in WI having to worry about surgery and getting back to FL. They are traveling with an RV and a motorcycle of which my mother has never driven either. Due to the generosity of a member of her particular type of biking group (CamAm Spyders) a person they had corresponded with but never met dropped off a vehicle at the hospital for them to use so my mom can go back and forth between the hospital and the RV. This gentleman is also assisting in getting the motorcycle back to the RV for my mom. So here her husband is ill, has had a few blood transfusions, and needs surgery and they have no idea how they are going to be traveling back. Compounding this issue is the fact that my mother has MS which is why she is a retired physician. She needs to rest daily.

I did get some good news yesterday. I received a B+ in my last class. A B+ is exciting because I was so nervous that I was going to be below a B and therefore work wouldn't reimburse me the tuition cost. The B I received on the one paper and the fact that I didn't do the optional paper and probably would have had a lower grade as a result made me nervous for the past week. So imagine my surprise to get the highest grade I could have received (because I didn't do the "optional" paper and therefore an A was never a possibility for me).
Well back to cruise items, is anyone else planning on doing the Castaway Cay 5k when we go? I didn't on this last cruise but I've been reading about it and it sounds fun. I feel like it'll give me an exercising goal in this upcoming year and a half too (not that a 5k is far but I want to do well so I'll have to train a bit first).

Hey everyone!
I'm still here --- and I've been trying to keep up but you guys have been BUSY!!!! That and my whole family makes fun of me for planning something so far away. They are more the last minuters, I'm afraid! Which is why I love the fact that you guys are just as excited as I am --- no matter how long we have to wait!!
OK --WELCOME!!! to Ayme, SEVP, Pb9000, Tiffany, Christi, Bearcats07, and more?? Sorry if I missed anyone!!
Michelle - I'm so sorry for what your daughter's friend's family has had to deal with recently. I will be praying for them! I'm glad to know they have such great friends like you for support at this time.
Thank you. I was so excited that last week American Girl came out with a bald doll!!! So of course I ordered on the first day. A girl with Cancer still needs a doll that looks like her. And they offer a free head replacment if you want when your hair grows back. How awesome is that!!! Got to love companies like that!!!
Hope you guys are all having a good summer!!

Well, I started school last week, so I am here procrastinating studying. Old habits die hard.
Haha, my friends were teasing me yesterday for planning 4 upcoming vacations, with a few more on the back burner that are nothing but ideas right now. What can I say, I view vacations (both the planning and execution) just as important to my health as visiting a doctor regularly.
I don't think I'll join the 5k, but maybe I should. Doctor has me on a diet and exercise plan to lose weight (lost 20 out of 40 lbs in the past 3 months!) but I must say I have the hardest time with exercise. I was sort of tempted to sign up for the Tinkerbell Half-Marathon at Disneyland just to get my butt in gear, but chickened out. I could use some motivation!
So I'm starting fertility treatments this month. Hoping for the best, of course, we've been trying for a few years now, but I can't help but wonder how it will affect my plans. "The best laid plans" and all of that. Hypothetically speaking, if I have a baby in 10 months, I will have a 6 month old by the time this cruise starts. Has anyone cruised with a baby that young? Or do you sort of have a "minimum" age before you'd consider bringing a child on a cruise? (Not to mention the 5-6 hours in a plane each way!) Just curious.
1. So - yes - game for the Pink Ladies -thingy. awesome can't wait - champagne, tequila, wine - you name it, i"m there

Good Luck with the fetitility...prayers for you!!!
As far as the baby situation...I have traveled with a 1 yr old, 2 1/2 yr old as well. I will say having them over 3 is a bonus but I wouldn't let that stop me...just think the cute pictures you will get!!!![]()
3. Amyekae - Keep positive. It took me a while to get pregnant and Noah is over 5 now. I am sending you some positive, female energy. Wish you all the best.
Best of luck with your treatments! I hope everything works out in the end![]()
I need to lose weight too which is why I am planning on doing the 5K and training for it.
Good luck with your treatments!
We took Patrick (then 2 and a half) on our honeymoon although he was in another cabin with my mom. So yeah my mom and son came on our honeymoon cruise. My husband would have been miserable if we didn't have our child with us so in an effort to curb this issue, we had them book a cabin too. Patrick had a great time but of course doesn't remember any of it. It was great having him there though for us. If I had a six month old, I would bring the baby with me. I can't imagine how much worrying I would do if I didn't have the baby with me at that age (although at 2 and a half I would have left him confidently).
