Storm Amy is currently causing high winds across UK and Ireland right now. Its currently 4.30pm and there is a Yellow wind warning for England and Wales
The UK Met Office warning covers all of Wales and most of England - away from the far north - and is valid until 6.00pm today.
Wind gusts of 45-55mph (72-89km/h) will continue to affect many inland areas with gusts of 60-70mph (97-113km/h) likely around exposed coasts and over hills.

This is causing the all cruise ship departures from Southampton port to be rescheduled.

According to The Port of Southampton Live Departure Schedule The Fantasy departure has been rescheduled to 10.00pm UK time.

Are you already on board or having to wait in the terminal.? We met similar weather last year on the WBTA and they would not let us into the terminal. That was only a 2 hour delay or so. But we were soaked when we finally boarded. I hope you get underway soon.

We found the port of SH extremely disorganized and chaotic when we disembarked the Dream in 2023 after a northern Europe cruise. And some of the rudest staff I have ever encountered.

I would have said incompetent in 2024. Confused. Power hungry? Hope they have better people this year.

Can’t comment on embarkation but debarking in SH in July was smooth no issues. I felt it was better than our PC experiences. We did do express walk off which maybe helped but thought I’d chime in seeing the negative comments. Maybe they are better this year or maybe we just lucked out.

I wonder if the Port is only busy for half the year so employees are seasonal? It really was a mess, no clear direction where to leave your luggage (“checked”) and people waiting in the rain. Waited at LHR for 2 hours for the transport bus, which promptly went to the WRONG dock! (2024)

Good gravy whats with all the negativity for Southampton port???

Geez, I have now sailed 3 times from Southampton with Disney, 2023, 2024 and 2025. 2023 Disney got switched last minute from Horizon Terminal to QE2 Terminal, but once at the terminal I had no issues. Southampton is a major cruise port and multiple ships arrive and depart on the same days.

I really don't see how there is so much negativity , especially when people have had ONE experience at Southampton a few years ago.

For those interested Disney Fantasy, like I said in my first post was delayed due to weather, specifically Storm Army. They eventually started moving at 10.00pm UK time on Monday 15 September. They boarded as normal and once onboard everything was the same schedule, they just stayed at Horizon Terminal until it was safe to leave. I am not on the ship, but I was following reports from people who are on the ship.

Also we were supposed to cruise through a fjord tomorrow but I guess we're just staying further out at sea until we hit Olden the following day.

I hate to say it, but it was truly disorganized on its own and the weather didn't help one bit. Luggage was soaked, there was no rhyme nor reason for how they boarded. Inside the terminal could accommodate many people....you would have thought due to the torrential rain, but....no. The rest of the WBTA was terrific though.
