Disney Fantasy 3-night Bahamas Double Dip: May 17 - May 20, 2017

Well, at least it's good to know that it wasn't my Time Warner Road Runner connection. I feel like I missed out on a brunch reservation also. I have a 11:00 am port arrival time which I guess isn't too bad.

Does anyone know if the port arrival time is strictly enforced? If I show up at 10:30 am,
am I going to have to wait until 11:00 am to enter the cruise terminal?

From what I've been reading - no

Our last DCL cruise will say I wasn't thrilled to show up half hour before the 10:30 am posted time and find the line in garage for security was winding thru that parking lot level.

I'm not sure what time the garage actually opens.

I'd be interested in knowing what time the parking garage opens. I'm staying at one of the hotels near the Port. Does anyone know how bad the traffic is the morning of the cruise - going from the Port Canaveral area over to the cruise terminal?

Showing up a half hour early they wont turn you away. but its not getting you on board any quicker. YOu are still going to have to wait. The PAT time is when you are supposed to show up and check in. YOur boarding number is based on when you checked in on line. And typically ships sailing after dry doc board a little later. (something to keep in mind)

Thanks everyone for the information. Is anyone nervous that this cruise may be cancelled as its right after the dry dock? I certainly hope that DCL is able to make the dry dock deadline by 5/17.

Yes!! Especially since it's for DH's bday! They've gotten pretty good about estimating times in dry dock though. And it's not like they're doing a lot a crazy stuff to it.

Whoa, I hadn't even thought of this possibility. Yikes! I guess they'd just refund our money and that would be that?

They are not doing that much stuff that I think that cancelling would be an option. Have they ever cancelled after a dry dock? I dont think they have? They are doing an update to the kids club , adding the sweet shop and adding Tiffanys (shopping). "While making these enhancements to the Disney Fantasy, crews will also perform regularly scheduled and wide-ranging maintenance that keeps the fleet in tip-top shape". NOne of these updates would be something they wouldn't be able to sail with. If anything i feel like, they'd rope them off (people would be annoyed, but they'd sail) most are on the double dip for Castaway Cay anyway :)

They are also going to repair the issue with the vibration which occurs towards the stern of ship that lots of people complain about. Don't know what all of this will involve. Yes, there was a scheduled cruise after a dry dock on the Magic which was cancelled.

Yes.. forgot about the Magic.. but they wouldn't have thrown in a 3 night cruise if they didnt feel they would be finished in time.. remember this cruise was added after the dates were released. something they never do. And it was literally in the middle of the night.. LOL

That Magic cruise that was cancelled post dry dock followed an extensive refurbishment. They completely gutted and reimaging restaurants & the gift shops, stripped and repainted the entire exterior of the ship, added a ducktail to the aft of the ship, reimagined the pool area(adding the AquaLab & AquaDunk slide), etc. This dry dock is no where near the magnitude of that one. If I remember correctly everyone on the cancelled cruise got a full refund plus a free cruise that had to be taken within a certain time frame. If they couldn't take the cruise within that time frame they got a voucher for a major discount on their next cruise(35-40% range). For what it's worth I feel pretty confident that this sailing will happen.

It's been a random, nagging thought ala the. Movie Inside Out

I quickly shove it into the deep, dark recesses of my mind lol

The cruise is almost sold out! The only rooms left are some verandah rooms. I wonder how hard it will be to get chairs on CC.
