Has anyone seen any Disney fanny packs for kids lately? I would like to get them before our trip so I can give them to the kids as part of the little care packages.

Thanks!

I have seen a few. There are ones with plush's attatched (Nemo, Minnie, Stitch) and then I saw a plastic one with Buzz.

I bought some off of ebay for our trip. It was kind of hit or miss as to whether there would be a good one for a good price on any given day when I checked. (Keep in mind that I am a self professed cheapskate.) And one of them showed up at our house absolutely reeking of stale cigarette smoke, so in the future I will only buy things from ebay that are advertised as coming from a non-smoking environment. Luckily I did this waaaayyyy in advance. So after months of airing out, the stinky one is just very mildly stinky. And my kids are thrilled with them all. I must be very sensitive to this smell. It might not bug everyone as much as it bugs me. But I guess I get it honest. My dad used to smoke when he was very young and said that the reason he quit was because the stale smell in his clothes closet stunk so bad even to him.

FromscratchMom, are the ones you got the PVC ones I'm seeing on eBay? The Tinkerbell one (hot pink and green) is pretty cute. I think I found a Buzz one, too. There isn't much else to find on eBay. Do your girls now about their trip? When in December are you going? We're going in December, too, and my two kids don't know....

Wal-mart carries a lot of Disney merchandise. I was hoping I would find fanny packs there, but I haven't had ANY luck, yet. We don't need to say that we're cheapskates... we're frugal!

Just got a plastic fanny pack off ebay w/the princesses. Still had the tags on!

It has been awhile so I'm not 100% certain, but I think that I saw a lot of packs that were PVC or some other type of plastic. I only bought one like that. It has white polka dots on a red background except for the front pocket which has a red background with a Minnie Mouse on it. I think I remember that I saw quite a lot of PVC or plastic packs that I was unsure of size-wize. Some were still in packaging and came with more than just the fanny pack. For some reason I decided that they might be really small and not hold enough for my kids. So any that I saw not in packaging that looked similar, I avoided. Even with my youngest I figured that I could do up the straps of a larger one and she could wear it.

The thing that started me looking for them, was reading travel guides almost obsessively and somewhere I had seen a tip from a mom who said she had each member of her party wear a fanny pack and had a small water bottle hanging from a carbiner on the strap. They refilled the water bottles at water fountains and sipped water while waiting in long hot lines. So I bought some small water bottles at Dollar General ($1 each) and bought the fanny packs from ebay. I also got items that I had seen in other tips such as super cheap rain ponchos in a different color than the ones sold at WDW. When we get up each morning I'll check the kids packs and put in some snacks, such as a Cliff bar, Cliff blocks, sunspire peanut sundrops (which are sort of similar to peanut m&ms) and/or a little pack of crackers.

With my crew I really need to avoid the temptation to let them indulge in all of the candy and junkfood that will be available. We generally avoid artificial colors, artificial flavors and certain preservatives and it really helps with ADD type problems and other behavioral and sensory issues. So it takes planning to do Disney and be ready to eat there. I'm still waiting to hear from someone at WDW about the best way to prepare in advance for eating in the restaurants. I've heard from others who follow the same diet protocols that the Disney restaurants are wonderful to work with, but each person has a different story of the best way to work with them in advance and calling WDW to get any consistent info or advice about planning for dietary needs has been like banging my head against a wall. Atleast our snacks are ready!

Oops, got to rambling and forgot to answer. Yes, our girls know about our trip. We'll be in a family suite at All-Star Music from December 13th-December 19th. I am so excited, I can hardly stand it. :woohoo:

We were just at WDW and I found a pink princess one for dd and a blue/green buzz one for ds. Maybe you can call the merchandise number to purchase them?

Ya know... I know someone going next week! I'll ask her to grab them!!

Do you have any idea of what they cost approximately?

I saw that one! It is really cute! Do you think the PVC is the same as the soft lunchboxes? I think DD7 would rather that Princess one over the Tink one.

Thank you for the link!
