Disney Every Day - Update 10/21 – 1, 2, 3! We’re Leaving for Orlando Tomorrow!

Hey Erin,

Cute countdown challenge...:thumbsup2

I am a huge Hermione fan... my daughter is a bit like her... including her personal evolution...;) Awesome role model...

I totally adore Merida because she is one of the very few curly haired-not wavy but curly haired princesses... I have curly auburning hair... and when I was little I so wanted the straight hair it felt like almost every other girl had. Now I like my hair and it's nice to see a princess who has it...:goodvibes

I also like that they left Rapunzel's hair shortish and brown (in the film)... It's nice to break the long blonde hair mold...

(BTW- I was in Universal a couple years ago and a whole group came through with Fiona Headbands...like Minnie Ears...but Fiona style-you get the idea-It was AWESOME...)

It looks like you had a fabulous Halloween...

Oh btw... I haven't been to Georgetown Cupcakes in NYC yet... we were going to try to go yesterday... we had tickets for a Young People's Jazz at Lincoln Center ... but based on us not having power and all of the stories about New York... we thought it best not to go...:( But we'll be there before the New Year...

(What I really love actually is pie... I like cupcakes but I LOVE pie...(good pie) Rumor has it a different team of sisters opened a pie place not too far from Georgetown Cupcakes and I have my eyes on a couple of pie places in New York...;)

BTW... I looked up the Spark programs at MIT... they look awesome... going to definitely take DS in a couple of years when he's old enough...DD is getting ready for college and she's hoping to be in college in/near Boston so it would be a great thing...;) So thanks for that valuable tidbit...

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #4 Favorite Disney Prince

Aladdin! OK, not really. I don’t really have a favorite prince, but I do love this meme:

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #4 Favorite Universal Prince

Severus Snape! Well, it’s a stretch, but he is the Half-Blood Prince!

Snape was one of my favorite characters in HP, even before we learned the truth about his motivations. He was just so mean and nasty. Then, when we saw his memories and how tortured he was, I loved Snape for completely different reasons. When I was looking for memes for him, I found a lot of funny ones, so I have to include a few more:

Just getting caught up on your PTR today. Your new house is gorgeous! & it looks like you had quite a bit of fun at the farm :) My family does a similar trip to a farm in the fall. I think it's great for family time.

A transformers ride at universal?! :scared1: YES! That's the best news I've heard all day! I'm a big geek, (and proud of it!) and love the transformers movies and cartoon shows, which I watch with my nephew. Any news on when it will be open?

I also love Merida & Hermione. My classmates used to call me Hermione in school, cause I used to have a similar attitude as her in the first few books.

Thanks! We love our house! Yeah, we really had a fantastic time at the farm. It is a good place for a family getaway :goodvibes As far as the Transformers ride, I heard that it will be completed in the summer of 2013, so I really hope it will be done in time for our trip since we are going at the end of the summer :yay:

Thanks! I’m glad you like the challenge! I’m having fun doing it. I adore Merida’s hair! Did you read my crazy-person-swoon over her hair when we did the Brave movie night? :lmao: Gothel’s hair was a good representation of naturally curly hair, but Merida’s hair was perfect! With the exception of the color, it looks just like my hair and my sisters’ hair!

I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t have power! Is everything else in your area OK? There was a lot of coverage about NY during and after Sandy, so I was very sad to see the devastation in that area.

I hope you get to go to Georgetown Cupcake soon, but I do want to hear more about this pie place! I love ANY type of baked good, to be honest with you! There is nothing like a good piece of pie! I’m glad you were able to get some info on MIT’s program. It really is fun for the kids and I felt like it created a little excitement for the kids about going to college :goodvibes

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #5 Favorite Disney Hero

Woody! I’m not sure how many people would agree with me that he is a hero, but I think he is. He is a leader and a friend. He may not always want to do the right thing, but he always ends up doing the right thing.

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #5 Favorite Universal Hero

The Hulk! I loved him as a kid and I fell in love with him all over again with The Avengers movie!

I am loving all of your choices for this challenge! I definitely consider Woody a hero. :lovestruc I love that "credible" hulk meme. :lmao: I'm a science junky and a skeptic so it's one of my faves. :goodvibes

Love your new place - very pretty!

Challenge answers:
Day #1 Favorite Disney Character: Jack Sparrow - definitely a character!
Day #2 Favorite Disney Princess: Snow White - obviously.
Day #3 Favorite Disney Heroine: Mary Poppins - "Close your mouth, please, Michael. We are not a codfish."
Day #4 Favorite Disney Prince: Naveen - "Kissing would be nice, yes?"
Day #5 Favorite Disney Hero: Shang - I have a thing for cute Asian guys. ;)
Day #6 Favorite Disney Animal: Tigger "Say, I'm so happy I feel like bouncing!"

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #6 Favorite Disney Animal

Perry the Platypus! I’ll admit that I reluctantly started watching Phineas and Ferb with my kids, but once I watched it, I was hooked! One of my favorite characters on that show is Perry the Platypus! I couldn’t choose which meme to use:

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #6 Favorite Universal Animal

Puss in Boots! If only for his overwhelming cuteness!

Thanks, Alysa! We really like it there! Good picks on the challenge! That Mary Poppins quote had me laughing! :lmao:

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #7 Favorite Disney Sidekick

Dory! She made me laugh. She made me cry! She made me laugh again!

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #7 Favorite Universal Sidekick

How could it be anyone but Donkey? He is hilarious!

Two more great choices! I used to have a "just keep swimming" ringtone, Dory is definitely one of my faves. :goodvibes And Donkey cracks me up!

Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming! What do we do? We swim, swim! :lmao: I love that part!

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #8 Favorite Disney Villain

Mother Gothel! She is so twisted. I just LOVE her! Plus, I love her hair!

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #8 Favorite Universal Villain

I won’t say that she is my favorite villain, but she is the one I despised the most: Dolores Umbridge!

Wait! One more!

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #9 Favorite Disney Couple

Carl and Ellie from Up! That opening sequence always makes me cry!

OK, sorry I’m not sorry for the Twilight jab  Here’s another cute one of the couple:

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #9 Favorite Universal Couple

Hermione and Ron, of course! I was rooting for Ron for the whole series and I felt Hermione’s pain each time Ron did something stupid! :lmao: I was so happy when they finally got together in the books and I cried when I saw the scene played out in the movies.

Ok... I just did days 4-9 and my computer ate my response...:badpc:

So let's see if I can at least do days 4-6 and safely submit the reply...

Day 4

Disney Prince- Prince Philip from Sleeping Beauty... unlike a lot of Dis princes he actually does something... taking on Malificent...:thumbsup2

Universal Prince... I'm going to "steal" your answer and go with Snape too... although he was mean at times... he was actually an incredibly brave and loyal man...imagine protecting your true love's child for all of those years at great risk to your self...

Day 5

Disney Hero-Shang from Mulan... again very brave, intelligent, and pretty darn nice looking for an animated character...

Universal Hero...Spiderman-Peter Parker... juggling high school and superhero business at the same time...:thumbsup2

Day 6

Disney Animal- Cleo from Pinocchio... cute and kind of sassy... and I have a soft spot for the movie and cats...

Universal Animal-Puss- there isn't even a close second...

Today was a crazy day! I almost forgot to update, but I made it!

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #10 Favorite Original Character (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy etc.)

Daisy. Why? Well, when I was shopping at the Disney Store recently, I realized that she was the most underrepresented of all the original characters. I decided that the next time I am in Disney World, I am going to seek out mostly Daisy merchandise. What can I say? I like the underdog. Underduck? Frankly. When I was searching for memes, I was surprised that I found one for her! It is a cute one, too:

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #10 Favorite Superhero (Hulk, Captain America, Spiderman etc.)
Iron Man! Is Iron Man even a character in UO? It doesn’t matter. I love him. I also love the Hulk, but I already chose him :lmao: and Iron Man/Tony Stark has some epic lines!

Oh I LOVE me some Tony Stark/ Iron Man. I find intelligence VERY attractive. Same reason I love Bruce Banner/Hulk. ::yes::

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #11 Favorite Disney Song

“Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog. I love that song because it showed how motivated Tiana was on accomplishing her goal, no matter how many obstacles got in her way!

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #11 Favorite Universal Song

This one is probably very obvious: Hedwig’s Theme! Whenever I would hear this music at the beginning of a new Harry Potter movie, I would get so excited to see it! Even now, after seeing the movies over and over again, Hedwig’s Theme is still my favorite Universal song.
