Once Upon A Dream was the theme for my high school prom... Any guesses who was the chair if the committee who made that decision? ;)

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #12 Favorite Disney Love Song

“Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid! This song, as well as all of the other Little Mermaid songs, hold a special place in my heart because I performed this with my high school show choir. It was my senior year and I was so happy that we did such an exciting show with all of The Little Mermaid songs! The music was beautiful and the songs were fun to sing! I like “Kiss the Girl” mostly from the movie, though, because I love how Ariel and Eric almost kiss but it never happens.

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #12 Favorite Universal Love Song

“Accidentally in Love” by The Counting Crows. I love the opening sequence in Shrek 2 and that song goes with it perfectly.

LOVE your challenge!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Oh and you'll get no complaints about digs on Twilight from me! Blech! :crazy2:

Thanks, Karen! I’m having so much fun with the challenge! I could bash Twilight all day because I am mad I wasted about two weeks of my life reading all four books! I kept thinking that it had to get better eventually! The books were so popular that I thought maybe I was missing something. Um…no.

More good answers! And, you stole one of my answers! :lmao: You’ll recognize it when I post tomorrow ;) The memes are so much fun to find. Sometimes it’s hard to choose just one… or two…or three :rotfl:

That must have been cool! I can’t even remember the theme of my prom. It might have a little something to do with the fact that it was 21 years ago

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #13 Favorite Disney Villain Song

The Princess and the Frog had a lot of great music in it, including my favorite villain song: Friends on the Other Side (see, Alysa? I told you that you stole my answer! ).

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #13 Favorite Universal Villain Song

You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch is my absolute favorite villain song! I love both the original cartoon version and the Jim Carrey version. When my kids saw me looking up memes for this challenge, they wanted to watch The Grinch Who Stole Christmas right then. I wanted to watch, too, but we aren’t even past Thanksgiving yet :lmao:

Ugh! Coy decided he didn’t want to go to MIT this weekend! I know, I know. First World Problems :lmao: but I am disappointed. Yes, he was flip flopping on his decision a lot the past month or so, but he finally decided that he didn’t want to go take the classes now. I’m pretty sure that he would’ve had fun if he did go, but I’m not going to push him. He had so many issues with school last year that I am concerned that if I make him go, it will turn him off of the whole idea forever. After all, there is another session in March. We are still getting used to homeschooling and really, we are still mostly dealing with de-schooling. Coy and True are adjusting to homeschooling very well, I think. In order for this to work, I feel that I have to allow both of them to adjust before putting them into more “traditional” classes. Well, Coy anyway. True would do fine, I think. Coy seems to just be relieved to not have to deal with school and the social situations that come with it. He is actually becoming more outgoing with adults, now. It’s neat to see that because he was never shy around adults (or kids) outside of the classroom, but he is noticeably more talkative around adults now. So I am hoping that if I let him take his time with this, he will be able to feel comfortable in a classroom setting eventually. I was hoping that MIT would be the first step, but I have to let him go at his own pace. Maybe I can enroll him in other classes at the Y or at the community center to get him started. I’m sure I can find some classes where he and other kids his age can bond over having similar interests.

True is disappointed about Boston, too. She really wants to take MIT classes! Well, she still has a few years until she is a seventh grader, so she’s going to have to wait! I feel bad for her, though, because she was trying to convince me to still take them to Boston. I think I would have considered it if #1 it wasn’t the weekend before Thanksgiving #2 the hotel wasn’t nearly DOUBLE what I paid when we went back in March and #3 if it wasn’t going to be so COLD out! *This is where you Northern gals make fun of me for complaining about temps in the high 40s all weekend!* :rotfl: Seriously, though, I have a lot of prep work to do for Thanksgiving and I was crazy to think that going out of town the weekend before was going to work! Well, I would have made it work, but still. Plus, I can save the money I would have spent on this mini trip and apply it to Disney. Boston/MIT is going to be there and hopefully we will be back in March. If not, maybe we can do a quick weekend trip in the summer when it is nice and warm out!

Oh, I'm sorry Coy didn't want to go to MIT, but like you said, you need to respect his pace and if you see a noticeable difference with the de-schooling, then you know you are doing the right thing. Boston will be there in March! Actually Boston is always there --- geez, I'm silly! It's nice to hear that both kids seem to be adjusting well to this new schedule. That's pretty exciting as I knew you had some doubts at first. Good for you all! How's the new house coming along? I bet you are so excited to decorate for Thanksgiving! Now is your family coming over your house? Anyways, it's nice to hear things are going well and you don't have to deal with the cold 40's!!!

Yeah, I thought of you the other day when it was 31 degrees and snowing. I was thinking "Boy, Erin would hate this!!!". So did I if I'm going to be completely honest!! :rotfl2:

Erin, I wish you lived near Hope & I! You would be such a fantastic addition to our homeschool group! I love that you aren't pushing him and respecting his choice! You will see a huge difference with deschooling!

I would type more, but I am on the couch with a big headache so can't type well on my phone!

:lmao: Snow I can tolerate. 31 degrees I cannot. Too bad they almost always go hand in hand  Yeah, Boston will be there, so I hope we will get to go again sometime within the next year. I’m SO GLAD that I didn’t get those plane tickets and I decided to drive! Thanks for your words of encouragement about the kids :goodvibes

Yup, the family is coming to my house for Thanksgiving, as usual. I was loving that tradition until this year when I realized that my house is still unorganized and boxes are still everywhere! Well, not everywhere, but a lot are in the basement. I guess it is OK because the main floor is looking nice and the bedrooms are in decent shape. It’s just that the house isn’t where I would want it to be for the first time that my sisters see it. I know they don’t care, but I do  My kids and I are going to be decorating, so I think it will look really nice for Thanksgiving. I’m trying to incorporate a salt dough craft with a Disney movie night this weekend :yay: Plus, I have to do a trial run on the pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin/chocolate chip muffins for Thanksgiving and the day after!

I hope you feel better! I found a homeschool group in my area, but I haven’t met with them yet because all of their activities so far have been during the weekdays. I hope that group is as nice as your homeschool group seems to be! I really want the kids to get to know other kids who are homeschooling and I could use a supportive group of people in the area, as well. If I ever move out to your area, I’ll let you know!

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #14 Least Favorite Disney Song

I’m going to admit it: I can’t stand the song “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” from the Lion King! The lyrics are perfectly fine and the music is kinda cool, but I can’t stand that kid’s voice. Sorry, I’m not sorry :lmao:

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #14 Least Favorite Universal Song

Livin la Vida Loca at the end of Shrek 2 – sung by Donkey and Puss in Boots – just irritates me! I’m not even sure why, because the original song is OK by me :confused3 Anyway, I just plain do not like it. Sorry, Donkey!

Come here. I’ll give you a hug!

Okay, I have to change two of my answers. I should have read ahead a little!

Day #8 Favorite Disney Villain: Yzma "A llama? He's supposed to be *dead."

Day #11 Favorite Disney Song: "A Dream is a wish your heart makes"

Day #12 Favorite Disney Love Song: "Once upon a dream"

Day #13 Favorite Disney Villain Song: "Friends on the other side"

Day #14 Least Favorite Disney Song: "What Makes the Red Man Red?" Not cool, Walt.

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #15 Favorite Disney Movie Kiss

Tiana and Naveen! I love how Tiana and Naveen get married in their frog forms and then, because Tiana became a princess through their marriage, the curse was broken and they both turned back into humans!

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #15 Favorite Universal Movie Kiss

My favorite Universal Movie Kiss was when Shrek Kissed Fiona and Fiona didn’t change from being an Ogre. She said, “I was supposed to be beautiful,” and Shrek says, “You are beautiful. To me.”

These are good answers!

Day #8 Favorite Disney Villain: Yzma "A llama? He's supposed to be *dead."

 She is definitely a funny villain! I forgot about her. Movie night!

Day #11 Favorite Disney Song: "A Dream is a wish your heart makes"

I love this song and all of the birds tweeting through it

Day #12 Favorite Disney Love Song: "Once upon a dream"

This song is so sweet!

Day #13 Favorite Disney Villain Song: "Friends on the other side"

Fantastic Song! I love his voice!

Day #14 Least Favorite Disney Song: "What Makes the Red Man Red?" Not cool, Walt.

Oh yeah, that is a horrible song! wasn’t even considering the racist songs for this question. That would be a whole new challenge! I’m just glad that some progress has been made because we have Native American heritage on my mother’s and my father’s side of the family – and my ex-husband has the same background – so I was particularly offended by that song and by “Savages” in Pocahontas. And Pocahontas was made in 1995!

When I see people do these challenges, I realize I'm not as much of a Disney know-it-all as I think! I could not come up with answers to most of these...Hope, I think we need some more Disney Movie days! ;)

Oh yeah, I could come up with most of the Disney ones because my mom used to buy all of the movies for my brother. I'd have a hard time with universal though... And yes, we can always use more Disney days. :)

Erin, I live all of your answers. You are pointing out things I'd forgotten and making me want to go back and rewatch some movies. Especially Princess and the Frog because I've only seen it in the theater once!

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #16 The First Disney Movie You Saw

I’m not really sure that this was the first Disney movie I saw, but this is the one that brings back the most childhood memories: Alice in Wonderland!

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #16 The First Universal Movie You Saw

Again, I am not positive that this is the first Universal movie I saw, but I have a nice memory of my aunt taking me to the movie theater to see E.T. I was only 9, but I felt like a teenager because she took me to see a PG rated movie! I loved that movie from the beginning and I love it to this day!

Doing this challenge has been tough! The good thing, though, is that it has been refreshing my memory! It’s making me want to do some movie nights, myself! If all goes according to plan, we’re doing Pocahontas and/or Brother Bear this weekend. They just seem like fall movies to me. IDK. I’m weird! I am also trying to do The Nightmare Before Christmas, but that might have to wait until the Friday after Thanksgiving, or the following weekend at the latest. We’ll see! :goodvibes

The Universal ones are REALLY hard for me, too! I could actually use Harry Potter and Shrek for all of the answers, but I am limiting to using them for only some of the answers :lmao: It’s also really hard not to cheat with the meme thing! It would be easier to pick answers based off of the memes I’ve seen, but I am actually going through each answer and looking really hard for an appropriate meme. Oh, and a lot of the memes I find have bad language or adult humor, so I can’t post those

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #17 Favorite Disney Classic

Cinderella! I never get tired of watching this. As a matter of fact, I think I might watch it tonight!

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #17 Favorite Universal Classic

This was tough because, well, what is a Universal Classic anyway? So I am answering this based on the rides that are at UO. My favorite older movie (that has an attraction at UO) is Terminator!

:lmao: I actually like The Beebs. Here’s another cute one:

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day #18 Least Favorite Disney Classic

OK, I am well aware that I am probably going to take a lot of heat for this, but I just don’t like Lady and the Tramp. I’m not even sure why. I know I saw it a few times when I was a kid, and I never had any interest in seeing it since then. Maybe I will give it another chance now that I am older and my kids might enjoy it, but I don’t know.

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #18 Least Favorite Universal Classic

I don’t know how much of a “classic” this is, but this was one of the few movies that I didn't like (that has an attraction at UO): Fantastic Four. I just didn’t care for it. And, this isn’t so much a meme as it is something cute that I found on Pinterest:

Hello Fantastic Four!
