Disney Ethics - another WWYD? Thread

Taking a cue from another thread, I thought that I would pose some Disney-related ethical questions. Feel free to add your own. But please be respectful of one another's opinions.
  • Park at DtD or a resort parking lot in order to avoid paying for parking? What if you have an ADR at the resort? Or if you're an onsite guest but that resort's lot is more convenient (i.e. CR's lot is great for getting out after Wishes or YC/BC lots are great when IllumiNations is done)? Does paying for valet parking make it okay?

I feel weird about parking at a Disney hotel because I'm paranoid it's gonna get towed without a sticker or something. I've done it under the guise that I'm visiting a friend a few times, but i never made a habit out of it.

As far as Downtown Disney goes, thats absolutely fine! I have (as a local) actually spent the extra time it takes to park at DTD, then take a bus to a resort and then another bus to a park (you need to take a resort bus to transfer to a park).
You are perfectly allowed to do this, it's just a time commitment. Like I said, I was a local and sometimes I was fine spending some extra time doing that to save $17 :D

so families with little kids should just spend their day waiting in the same line. leaving it to use the bathroom, start over at the end, leave it to use the bathroom, etc etc. how ridiulous.
Itisi wrong for one parent to get in line as a spot saver and the other take the kids to the bathroom and catch up. you all get in the line together. and you make the kids "try" to pee before getting in line.
but, hey, often kids have to go again and just can't hold it! which leads to people letting their kids pee in the bushes in line.
Bathroom emergencies(ow sickness) are instances where I WILL let people REJOIN the line.

I can't imagine that parents with small children spedn their entire day in the bathroom. I had small children once and I don't remember it happening, but if it had we would have gotten out of line and started over yes. .

That still doesn't excuse them in essence stealing from Disney.
Wow, harsh
Is it inaccurate? Is there a better way to describe it?

This just illustrates how nice, reasonable people can have strong differences of opinion like this. I don't think there's any way to force (browbeat?) others into changing their opinions on things like this. But I do think it's useful to encourage people to look at things from all sides, including the side of Big Nasty Corporate America. It can be tricky to tone things down on a bboard, so I don't fault BagOLaughs for phrasing it that way.

I believed it was harsh because the poster was referring specifically about a posters family. It was unnecessarily personal. Of course it's fine to air ones opinions (this is the internet after all) but its considerate to be tactful about it.

well of course they don't I was being obviously superlative. trying to make the point that who would stand in line for 45 minutes. child has to use the bathroom. leave the line. . use the bathroom .. start over from the end of the line ... now 45 minutes later, child again needs the bathroom.. again, start over at the end of the line.wash rinse repeat.. lol

I think most people will not have a problem with a family, ALREADY in line, taking a child out to use the bathroom and REjoining the line.

if we have waited in line.. ALL joining the line at the same time...(none of this dad and JR ENTER the line while mom and 2 kids go to the bathroom and then "catch up" nonsense) and then one of my grandchildren need to use the bathroom.someone will take the child to the bathroom, if needed, we'll see a CM. and anyone around me can count on me to save their place.
who would want to: make a child pee their pants? tell them to pee in a bush? make them not enjoy the ride at all (have you ever tried to enjoy something while having to pee. or worse poop; these are young children who have only recently learned to contro; these biological functions) or make the whole family wait? or miss the ride themselves" what an awful anxiety ridden decision to put on a small child on ther vacation at the most MAGICAL palce on earth?

Don't call the police if someone steals or robs you- I'm sure that child will turn out okay too. I just will never understand why it's okay to steal from a company but not from an individual. Corporations need to make a profit too or your 401k will never make any money and you will never be able to retire. Stealing is stealing and lying is lying - there are no degrees about it that makes it right.
