Disney eliminates outside vendor drop off/pickup services. Must meet vendor for drop off/pickup (mobility devices only so far it seems)

I have found that ordering my amazon groceries I put the order in as soon as I get on the Magical Express and usually the timing adds up. Bell services can hold it if my room isn’t ready. I like to be there even if it isn’t required because I like looking over the stuff to ensure everything is delivered.
May I ask which Amazon service you use? We've used Garden Grocer the last 3 trips but they do seem pricey. We need things like milk, water, juice, applesauce, muffins.... I have Amazon Prime and gift cards so hope to use "free money".

An article on WDW News Today said it includes groceries too.

Not the most reliable of sources these days, especially with many others saying groceries and owners lockers are still permitted.

No one really knows until WDW officially updates policy.

Not necessarily. Parking fees for resort guests is a good example.

Well, let's see with this one. From Facebook, twitter, and the boards it seems like this one will get lots and lots of complaints. Time will tell.......

Don't be so sure of that. Just recently there was so much outrage with DVC points being raised Disney reversed course and went back to the old point values. Took about 30 days of outrage and they reversed course.

If enough complaints Disney WILL change the policy in some form or another.
I think it had more to do with DVC’s legal right to change the point charts in the manner that they did, rather than simply outrage on the part of DVC owners. I firmly believe that it was a retreat and regroup move, not a permanent reversal.

We will be writing WDW to express our disappointment in this policy. I think we’ll be sure to remind them that time spent waiting on a vendor is Time not spent spending money in the parks/resorts. Can’t go to the gift shop- we might miss our delivery. If money truly talks, I think ours might shout. Like others, my Pop can’t walk long distances. It’s difficult enough to get him from the car to a seat in the lobby. **Sigh** one more thing to add unneeded stress when I’m trying to escape it.

I can only imagine the massive amount of strollers and scooters they are handling to decide to take this sort of step. The resorts are not set up to receive, store, and hand out large numbers of scooters and ecvs.

A giant pain for those who need such things, but I get why they are doing so.

Except, that didn't really cost them anything. The vendors storing their items (without Disney getting payment) and them having to track the items costs them.

If they do reverse course on it, I can see them charging an astronomical fee ($30-50) to get people to consider whether it is worth the cost to do so. Either to the vendor who would pass the cost onto the client or directly to the guest. The fee would go towards covering the cost of storage, etc.

Not the poster, but we have used Amazon Prime Now previously. Our upcoming trip we will be using Dizzy Dolphin Delivery.

I see this becoming a problem with medical supplies. Disney simply CAN NOT deny people medical devices that need to be delivered. There are companies that deliver, beds, chairs, bathroom chairs, oxygen tanks etc.... to ALL Disney Hotels.

Charging a fee is one thing but I can't see them making people wait outside for beds and chairs to be delivered. That becomes an issue.

I think the "ice rules" are no more loose ice in coolers (very difficult for security to stick their hands in coolers of ice) and requiring reusable ice type packs instead.

None of the newer rules apply to me either. Not YET, anyway.

But they’re not stopping deliveries. Just that someone will have to be there to accept it. They’re removing the bell services as the middleman.
It’s completely understandable from a liability perspective. They have staff becoming financially and legally responsible for expensive pieces of equipment.

I am ok with the changes. Our last few trips, the wait for bell services to come and pick up our bags was excessively long. Maybe now that the bell services staff doesn’t have to handle scooters and strollers, they can come up and handle luggage in a timely manner.

all- i can say is this. My wife needs an ecv as soon as she gets off the magical express, . our plane is usually a late day plane. Inability to get the scooter from bell services will be a problem for us.
