Honestly, I have seen no difference.
DSIL/DBIL own at OKW and bought direct from Disney years ago. Since she and I are such
DVC freaks, we talk about e-mails we receive (which are the same) and our MS's experience.
In terms of direct customer's getting special treatment, I haven't seen that either. DSIL called in to make a reservation for a 2-BR at SSR for the week of Easter. She was waitlisted for a dedicated 2-BR. I called later that even and also reserved a 2-BR and waitlisted a dedicated. Three weeks later, we both saw the dedicated 2-BR come through on dvcmember.com and it was within a day or two of each other.
I'm not 100% sure, but I assume that MS can tell if you purchased direct or bought resale. When I got to dvcmember.com, the "member type" says "purchaser." MS has always been pleasant and for the most part, very helpful. Have just had some minor issues with them being consistent with rules when I ask.
Lastly, I can assure you that our dues are the same, too! We gripe about them every year because they come the same time the Christmas bills arrive!
