Does anyone have any info on these? We were thinking of getting one and I was wondering if it can be charged for portable use. I can't seem to find anything on it other than the regular on the box info. I would like to see some reviews on it too, but can't find any.

ANy info would be great!

Enlarge pictureParents (especially parents of twins) can now sleep in peace during long trips knowing that Disney's new Dual-Screen Mobile DVD system makes it possible for both their kids to squint at the same movie without bumping their heads. What a breakthrough! Will this mobile DVD player make kids enjoy movies quietly from now on? Maybe, but probably not (what if you don't have twins, but triplets, eh?).

Both displays measure 7-inch in size and can be strapped onto the back of each headrest. Features include a couple of integrated speakers, two headphones, a car power adapter, and a full function remote control. The device supports DVD video, audio CDs, picture CDs, DVD+R and DVD+RW. Parents can use the TV Guardian option to filter offensive TV channels (for the right subscription price of course). The device comes with a handle for easy portability and several faceplates (Pirates of the Caribbean and Tinker Bell) in order to keep the kids satisfied, silent and busy.

The Dual screen mobile DVD system will be available in May for 179,99 $ from Target stores. The new players are currently shipping with a Disney DVD disc sampler featuring a compilation of Disney Channel's hottest entertainment from Hannah Montana: "The Cheetah Girls", to "High School Musical Jump In "and "Cory In The House".

In other news, the ultra popular Disney Mix Max video MP3 players, Disney Mix Stick MP3 players and Disney Pix camera lines have been refreshed with tunes from 3 themes from "Hannah Montana" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End designs".

Here's another review:

Nothing beats a portable DVD player for a long trip — except perhaps one with two screens. Designed for those with more than one child, the Disney Dual Screen Mobile DVD Player can simultaneously display a movie or video game on two 7-inch screens.

The screens are tethered by a single seven-foot audio-video and power cord, long enough to have one screen in the front seat attached to the beverage holder, and the second on a headrest for viewers in the far back. Each screen has an independent volume control and a headphone jack. Just one has the video controls and actually plays the DVD, though there is also a remote control.

The kit, available for $180 from www.disneyshopping.com, includes two power supplies for either car or house power, two pairs of headphones and an extra video cable that could be plugged into a TV at home. Missing are rechargeable batteries, so when your car’s ignition turns off at a rest area, so does your movie.

The screens are easy to move around the car, thanks to clever holding straps designed to stretch around the back of a seat, just in case one child needs some space. As anyone who travels with children knows, options are good.

Target is selling it this week for $139.87.

We have it and I LOVE IT!!!!! Yes, you can charge for portable use, it comes with the AC adapter as well as the video cords to connect to TV. Only one of the screens has the DVD player in it, so only one is "portable" so to speak. I love how it goes on the headrests in my van and the remote has a volume button on it (our previous single screen portable DVD player did not).

Target has it on sale this week :) I paid $179 for it and it's been great.

We just bought a brand new Polaroid one on e-bay for $129, it included 15 games. Everything you need is included. You might check it out- cybershops was the seller, he has several up for bid or you can buy it now without bidding. We just got ours and we love it.:rotfl:

I have a question about the Disney DVD player: Can you use one screen to play a DVD and the other screen to connect to a game system? Not all the kids want to watch the same movie or play the same video game. If I bought it, I'd put one screen in the middle of the van to watch a DVD and the other screen in the back seat of the van for the boys to play their video game system.

I went to Target to look at this DVD player today and the salesman said it looked like both screens had to watch the same thing at the same time. (He didn't appear very knowledgeable.) I like the size and the price, but if it can't do what I'm looking for, I'll have to look around for something else.

Looking for advice from someone who bought one already....

Thank you so much for the info!

I really want it and the only thing that was missing was being able to charge it to use it while out or on the plane! I said to my DH this morning...if you can charge it and use it portable then we are getting it forsure!

Thank you so much! I am going to get the system in the morning!!

Yes, you can watch a DVD on one and play games on the other. You can also watch the DVD on both, of course.
Good luck.

27 day until Disney:dance3: !

Is your response for the Polaroid player or the Disney DVD player? I guess I could just buy it and if it doesn't allow us to play DVDs on one while playing a game system on the other - AT THE SAME TIME - I can just return it.

When I opened the box at Target, they have all the components in one of those heavy plastic sealed containers that you need a scissors or knife to cut through. I didn't want to destroy the plastic container if KelsiesMommy can answer my question.

Our local Target has them on sale this week for $139. I thought they were cute with the interchangeable face plates. Too bad we already have the tv/dvd for the car, otherwise I'd run right out and get this one.

I was discussing the Polaroid one.:)

 I saw the add for the Disney DVD player at Target. I didn't see were it came with games. Was I overlooking something?
It does look cute:earsboy: . I would definately check out any reviews on it.

I noticed also, it does not come with headphones (a must when driving through busy cities:headache: ). The ad did say 10% off accessories.

I do know that you can buy game controllers to hook to your DVD players for about $10 at Walmart. I don't know if you could watch a movie and play games on the other screen though.

I OPENED THE BOX AT TARGET AND SAW TWO (2) HEADPHONES.

Good question. I keep trying to find out and I can't find any info even stateing that they can be charged!

I didn't get a chance to go out for it today, but I will get it this week sometime. Thanks for the great info! I love that it charges and you can take it anywhere!!!

Thank Goodness for this thread! I just went to Target, got a rain check, then decided to drive a few towns over, and found one at another store :cool1: . The screen is a perfect size! What I really like is the bungee-type cord that goes around the headrest to keep the screen in place. I can't wait to use them!

Now, if I can just find a safe place to hide it from dh ;)

I would really like to know if it can be charged for the airplane or does it always need to be plugged into an energy source. It looks adorable.

So according to one DISer that has this player you can charge it and use it anywhere. Now that I have gone back and re read the post it sounds like only one of the screens is able to hold the charge. I think I'll PM the poster to get the right answer!

wow, I am so happy to hear that you can watch a DVD on one screen and play a game on the other. We just bought this on sale at Target on Sunday. We had gone to Best Buy to price DVD players and planned on having one installed permanently in our vehicle but I just could not bring myself to pay that much money after just paying for our Disney trip. We went to Target and found this on sale and DH said it was meant to be. :goodvibes
