Do the younger kids appreciate this show more than the older ones? DS will be 10.5 when we cruise. Also do the girls enjoy it more?

DS has seen it as a 11 year old, and as a 12 year old.
DD has seen it as a 6 year old, and as a 7 year old.

BOTH loved it, and both are looking forward to seeing it again as 13/8 year olds in July 2003!

On our 7/28/01 cruise, my DS 13, (then 12) went to see both Disney Dreams Shows, first in the afternoon with my parents, then in the evening with us. He’s a “rough & tough” kinda kid, and had no trouble going to all the shows. (I think this year might be a little different… we’ll see!) Both he and my other DS (then 6) saw it twice.

Make sure you get there early enough to get a seat up front, and a little left of center stage. There is a cool special effect towards the end that both boys loved, and couldn’t wait for us to see. All 11 in our group of Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, and a 16 yr old niece really enjoyed the show.

For anyone who has ever watched a Disney video or has seen a Disney movie, this show is not to be missed (IMO!)

ENJOY!

Well, you know my opinion....the 9yr boy old on our trip did enjoy the show but didn't think it was "all that" He probably would have preferred the lab. I know everybody raves about this show and I personally enjoyed it but I think for kids over the age of about 8 it just might not be their "thing". Everybody knows their own kids best. If your child is into singing, dancing, acting, stage shows, etc he may really enjoy it. If not he may feel (as our friends DS did) that it was a good show but not anything to write home about. This boy really, really, enjoyed the juggler and would rate this as his favorite show onboard. He didn't say the show was "girly", it was his mom who said that she thought it was too girly for her son.

My 10 year old son saw it twice last week (we did back to back 4 and 3 day). He enjoyed it both times. We asked him if he wanted to go the second time and he said yes.

Bottom line (if you ask me...) is that if they are into "all things Disney", then the age won't matter much.
