DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

When did they send in the paper work for the passport? As I believe it usually take the Canadian passport office about 30 day if you mail it, they do it in less if you take it to a passport office.

YAY for a very successful movie night! I think the day TS3 comes out I'm going to cave and buy all three for my collection! They are great movies!!!

Sorry to hear you guys are under weather! Hope you get to feeling 100% real soon!!!

Sending lots of pixie dust that the passport paperwork gets in on time and she'll get her passport!! :wizard::wizard:

That's a great idea ... they'll probably have them in a box set. :thumbsup2 We're almost normal again. George seemed to be the hardest hit.... or so he would lead us to believe anyway.

Thanks for the pixie dust!!

Looks like a fun movie night! I preordered my copy of TS3 and will be picking it up after work next Tuesday!! I really like Ken in it too, he's probably my favorite actually. I read a cute article on how they came up with his character and it was really interesting.

And, here's some more pixie dust :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard: just for good measure.

Oh I should find that article, I laughed when I heard it was Michael Keaton's voice -- he did it so well. Thanks for the extra pixie dust!

Great movie night!!!

A month... yahoooooooooooooooo

I know! I told the kids at dinner today and their eyes went into big saucers. In some ways its seems to have taken forever to get here but in others, boy did it come up quick!

When did they send in the paper work for the passport? As I believe it usually take the Canadian passport office about 30 day if you mail it, they do it in less if you take it to a passport office.

I wish they'd taken it into an office, but they originally mailed it off at the start of summer. It's been 'rejected' twice and they've hung onto the originals of her birth certificate, etc. They've said if they have the new mailed application by the end of this week, just within the 30ish day window, they'll guarantee she gets it before we have to go.

Hopefully we'll find out on Friday it's been received. :wizard:

Another great movie night! It's so cool that you got to see Toy Story 3!! :cool1:

Happy one month!!

:banana::banana: :dance3::cheer2:party: :dancer: party::cheer2::dance3: :banana::banana:

I hope the passport situation works out - that would be a huge disappointment if Kathryn doesn't get it on time. :sad2:

Cool you got to see Toy Story 3! I think it comes out on DVD this week though. :rotfl:

I am starting to get really jealous of everyone going on holiday trips since that's when we were supposed to go this year before changing it to the summer. I really just want to see all the decorations! :sad1: Hopefully next year. But YAY for one month for you guys!

Catching up so I'm going to go in order!

Woo hoo for paying off the trip and Mickey Mail! I realized earlier today that we hadn't gotten our ME stuff for December yet! Then I realized that I had never called with the info! Crud! I hope I get the tags in time!

I hope Ariana goes for the barber shop! It would be great if she did! Fingers crossed!

The halloween fright night sounds like a lot of fun! Love the costumes!

Great movie night! I hope beginning sick didn't take away from the fun! Wooo hoo for 1 month!

Hey thanks for the boogie! :cool1: :woohoo:

Thanks for the well wishes on the passport debacle -- hopefully tomorrow they can acknowledge they've received it but likely we'll have to wait until next week before we can start hounding them.

Doh! Hopefully they can courier it out to you.

I hope Ariana goes for the barber shop! It would be great if she did! Fingers crossed!

Thanks, I really hope she's in the right mood and just goes for it. Hmmm, she loooooves when I put makeup on her. Just had a thought maybe I can do up a princess face for her to distract her from the cut she's getting. She's great at holding still for the makeup to go on.... that just might work!! :yay:

The halloween fright night sounds like a lot of fun! Love the costumes!

Great movie night! I hope beginning sick didn't take away from the fun! Wooo hoo for 1 month!

Fright night was fun before the crowds hit.:thumbsup2 The movie night was a nice relaxing break from being sick. :happytv:

Hi Stefy!! Welcome back :goodvibes I can't wait to start hearing about your trip! Feeling better?

I went with Captain's Grille instead of Kouzzina and they bumped up my ressie time to where it was before. Darn online dining is still down so I haven't yet cancelled CP. It was a tough decision for me to let that one go....

Kathryn's mom is definately going to hound the passport office -- it will be a much different trip for Alex if she can't come with us.

Thanks :) Am hoping to start the TR this weekend. Can you believe that I still haven't got back to normal since we got back, first it was flu and then this week a stomach bug :( But I am doing good now thanks for asking :)

Never read a Captain's Grille review before so looking forward to hearing about that one :)

Hopefully things are going smoothly with the passport process, any news?

Looks like another great movie night, TS3 is such a great film isn't it :teeth: Spanish Buzz is my fav too

Ok Tracy my brain was :confused3 stumped over the passport issue...it took a few reads through and then the duh realization oh yeah you guys do live in another country guess you would need a passport...so I really, really hope it get's all worked out in the next month pixiedust:

fun sneaky movie night...Nathan would have been quite jealous...and I just sent my own little Jessie (Naomi-Ruth) off to school today for her halloween party!

I'll post pic's soon on my PTR!

get well all...the little gilrs are dealing w/ sniffles and coughs too in our house...stay well I keep telling myself

Love TS3!!!! I have the ken doll/outfit that he's in, in his first scene!!! I told my family that he is worth money now! In fact, he is in that exact outfit and chillin in the basement..and to think, I thought about tossing him in the garbage when we moved in May!

Here's the link to the article I was talking about. It's about the Toy Story 3 characters in general (a lot about Lotso) and then there's a little section about Ken that's funny. I get these articles e-mailed to me every week, there's some really interesting ones.

http://disney.go.com/disneyfans/insider/article/20100615

Thanks! I love reading articles like that. I like that Lotso was an established 'character' that they revamped for the movie.

Oh you poor thing, I'm sorry it's sucked for you like that lately. Can't wait to hear more wedding news too. :goodvibes

Wouldn't it be funny if Captain's Grille turns out to be one of the best meals of the trip? ;)

No news yet on the passport. I expect it'll be Monday or even Tuesday before we can at least find out if they received it on time.

Spanish Buzz was so funny. I remember in the theatres Demetri was giggling his face off. :rotfl:

Thanks Julie, I really hope it works out too.

Looking forward to your pictures! I remember your Toy Story night :thumbsup2

It's tough this time of year to avoid a cold... I'm a big believer in getting all your sleep and try not to wear yourself down. I still got the cold but I fought it off pretty quick. :)

Love TS3!!!! I have the ken doll/outfit that he's in, in his first scene!!! I told my family that he is worth money now! In fact, he is in that exact outfit and chillin in the basement..and to think, I thought about tossing him in the garbage when we moved in May!

Too funny!!! After the first Toy Story came out, its really hard for me to throw toys in the garbage. We laughed out loud when Barbie is mourning being tossed by Molly and Hamm says, "I get the corvette." :rotfl:

:yay: Yay for only ONE MONTH!!!

Sending virtual chicken soup and words you've probably heard before: At least you got sick now and not on your vacation! ::yes::

Absolutely! Yummy soup Kathy, thanks! That does remind me though to bring a different set of meds with me this trip. Usually its allergy, this time it'll be Benylin cold and flu -- just in case. :thumbsup2

:woohoo: Great movie choice!! I can't wait to see it again when it comes out next week!! I'll have to be sure and stock up on some tissues first though. Hopefully I won't cry as much as did in the movie theater.:rolleyes1

Sorry....that you all weren't feeling well.:sad2: Hope everyone is feeling better!:thumbsup2

YAY for less than 1 month to go!!:yay::dance3::yay:

Alrightie. Well, with the drama that was the dropped Kouzzina reservation, I’ve pretty much already talked about our Park Day 7. But to be thorough…..

A recap of our days so far:
Saturday, November 27th – Arrival Day
Sunday, November 28th – Park Day 1 - MK and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Monday, November 29th – Park Day 2 – DHS
Tuesday, November 30th – Park Day 3 – DHS
Wednesday, December 1st – Park Day 4 – AK
Thursday, December 2nd – Park Day 5 – Resort / DTD Day
Friday, December 3rd – Park Day 6 – Epcot

Last trip, we were shall we say, jipped out of Magic Kingdom time. Our first day was great and we accomplished a lot, however our second day was rained out. The consolation prize for the rained out day was that we went to Downtown Disney and did a walk in to Wolfgang Puck Café – yummo!! Ariana however, was very upset that she couldn’t go to Fantasyland on this second day and it took her awhile to get past it. A long while. So I promised her then that we would plan extra Magic Kingdom time for her on our next trip. Still, this second MK day is our seventh park day!

DAY 7
MAGIC KINGDOM
Saturday, December 4th
Park Hours: 9am – 10pm

Coming off of EMH at Epcot the day before, we’ll again have an easy morning and head directly to the Magic Kingdom. George absolutely loves the Main Street Bakery and so I’ve planned to head there for breakfast. He always gets the huge cinnamon rolls. (He actually gets one with no icing but this pic looked so scrumptious!)

P1010181.jpg

(Side story…. You know that part of Finding Nemo where Mr. Ray asks Nemo what does he live in? Nemo stutters his answer – anemo-anem-anemo-anemone? THAT’s how Demetri says ‘cinnamon’. It’s too cute; we get him to say it all the time. He eventually caught on and does it on purpose now.)

Then we’ll spend the rest of the morning, afternoon and early evening getting our MK groove on. Anything that we didn’t cover back on Park Day 1 we’ll hopefully tackle today. Not sure what we’ll do for lunch today – we’ll likely just wing it, maybe go to Cosmic Ray’s or Columbia Harbour House if for some reason we didn’t get to try it earlier, or we did and really, really liked it.

Widget sent me a message that Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled are now greeting guests at Fairytale Garden in MK so they’ll be cool to meet, Ariana will LOVE that.

I’m really looking forward to Tiana and Naveen too. Ariana adores meeting the characters (I do too!) so we’ll likely have an emphasis on that this day.

Now we’re up to the point in which originally I would have talked about how I was looking forward to having dinner at Kouzzina. Well we all know how that turned out. :sad2: Seriously though, I’ve never been to the Boardwalk area and I’m really looking forward to seeing it. Especially in the early evening.

boardwalk-villas.jpg

I definitely want to get good use of the panoramic function on my camera and get some nice water shots. I’ve said before the Boardwalk reservation was important to ‘force’ us to get to this area. Left to our own devices, we might just stay at MK and not want to leave. With the planned ressie though, we can prepare for it and take off by a specific time.

We’ll stroll the shops and check out the Christmas decorations at the surrounding resorts, and watch any nighttime entertainment that might be going on. I seriously hope the weather is nice for this day. We can prepare for cooler temperatures, just not rain. :headache:

We’ll save the Yacht Club as our last resort to wander to…..

015250.jpg

015255.jpg

….. and head to the Captain’s Grille at 6:50pm for dinner. I hadn’t really heard about this place at all before Kouzzina cancelled but I’m glad to hear good recommendations for it.

captains-grille-dining-room.jpg

No need to rush through dinner, we can take our time. We might also want to save our desserts to take back to the rooms because as an after dinner treat, I’ve planned to head over to Beaches & Cream. Really, I do hope we can just leisurely stroll around the Boardwalk instead of dashing amongst the rain drops from one shop to the next!

At Beaches, I really want to try the No Way Jose!

nowayjose.jpg

How yummy does that look?? Thank you Jen (Jenjolt), for introducing me to this little piece of heaven!

Magic Kingdom hours are until 10pm this day but really, it would just be nice to head back to the rooms for an easy night. We have one more MK day planned before the end of the trip so I think we’ll be OK fitting everything in.

I’m putting together a picture itinerary for Ariana so she can see that even though we’re leaving Magic Kingdom early this day, we’re still coming back one more time before the end of the trip. This really helps her a lot since she doesn’t always just take our word for it.

So that’s Park Day 7 – what do you think? And since this day was pretty much already covered, I’ll continue on with Park Day 8!

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST.......

I love extra MK time... we have 3 days there this year and one with no plans!

Now you have made me think I really wanna see the boardwalk:headache:

DAY 8
EPCOT
Sunday, December 5th
Park Hours: 9am – 9:30pm

This will be our second day at Epcot and again we have a wide open schedule. Anything that we haven’t already accomplished earlier in the trip we can tackle on this day. I’d love to have an emphasis on meeting characters and will be sure to get an updated listing of who is where just before we go.

I want to tour World Showcase, maybe picking out a few pavilions to really explore instead of just a taste of each of them, and I really want to get a closer look at Italy. For whatever reason, I think we've usually just given it a cursory going through and I've never even seen the gondolas. Of course, Via Napoli is new too. Each time I see pictures I really want to go there. Definately on the must see list for next trip. :thumbsup2

Maybe take some goofy around the world pictures with different hats or different looks from the different countries. A reminder of my wish list from our earlier Epcot day…..

Hodgepodge of new things I want to do in World Showcase:

Pick a pearl in Japan!
Drink a slushie in France
See Miyuki the candy maker in Japan
Eat school bread and perhaps a sweet almond pretzel from Norway
Go to the bottom of the falls in the Canada pavilion
Watch Illuminations from the second level of the Canada pavilion
See the Chinese acrobats
Kim Possible mission in a new country

Our dinner ADR is a tad on the later side so we might want to snack throughout the day or find a counter service we haven’t tried before. George is not too adventurous so we might get different things from different pavilions and then meet back up again. We'll see.

We’ll do all the Future World rides that we can possibly squeeze in. Just a reminder of my earlier Epcot posting from our first day…..

Must Do’s in Future World

Spaceship Earth – I’m determined to email home our ‘world’ pictures this time!
Test Track
The Seas with Nemo
Turtle Talk with Crush – We’ve been very lucky getting to talk to Crush and hope to again!
Soarin – Many, many times!
Living with the Land – I want a vanilla plant!
Innoventions – Tons of cool stuff in there.

The dinner choice for today originally started off as San Angel Inn when I was getting ready to make my ADRs at the 180 day mark. We hadn’t been there before but enjoyed floating thru the restaurant, and going with the trying of new things theme, I was going to book us there. But on second thought and after asking George which he’d prefer, he made it clear with just a snort laugh that we would not be going to Epcot without also going to……

Le-Cellier-Archway.jpg

2009_0822pics0054.jpg

2009_0822pics0078.jpg

Le Cellier! Oh and I’m very happy we booked here now that they’re switching this to a Signature Dining requiring two table service credits. Why oh why don’t they expand this restaurant? Has it even been considered? Anyway, our reservation is for 8:05pm which is a little late but not too bad. I already know that I’m ordering the filet with mushroom risotto. YUM! YUM! YUM!

2009_0822pics0087-1.jpg

After dinner will be time for Illuminations to close out the park. We may hang out in Canada if we’ve found the nice spot to view it earlier in the week from the second level of the pavilion or we may try something new. Once Illuminations is done, we’ll slowly make our way out of Epcot and once again head back to the Pop. I don’t have anything planned afterwards, just an easy night back in the rooms.

So there you have it, Park Day 8. What do you think?

I love extra MK time... we have 3 days there this year and one with no plans!

Now you have made me think I really wanna see the boardwalk:headache:

I love extra MK time too. :goodvibes So much better then trying to cram it all in.

Ha! First the pins, now the Boardwalk! :rotfl: No seriously, I can't wait to check it out. It's my "really looking forward" to moment of this day.

I think I will head over there after our Epcot FW day, that will be our second Epcot day so I'm sure we won't need to stay till close and since it's just next door, why not

I can't wait to try LeCellier, since I am Canadian and have never had cheddar cheese soup before :confused3

Maybe we can talk them into building a Timmies there, I am bringing my Timmies tea with me!!!
