Disney Dreamers??

So it looks like there is more to come with this and more people will be involved - hope I'm one of them :rolleyes1 I actually arrive after it ends :(

But seriously - maybe there will be a competition to be at the finale and it being the weekend before half term, in the UK, I'd think lots of people could probably make the trip.

when is it on in Paris

We are going to be in DLP at the same time as the big finale! will report back if we have been able to see anything! I have to say, that with all the cutbacks this last year in terms of shows and parades etc, I think it is in quite bad form to spend so much money and build a whole new show, that can only be enjoyed by a select few. And if the public are not allowed to join in at all, I only hope it all takes place where the rest of us can't see it, otherwise there will be some sad kids wondering why they are not allowed to see certain characters or shows etc. :(

Having said that, this whole Dreamers thing has given me an idea of my first holiday should I ever win the lottery!:rotfl:

Update has just been posted on their website:

Important Information (updated 25th April 2013)

We have had a lot of questions since the launch, about invites and how people were chosen for this trip. As we have already stated on the social networks, and indeed in the description above, these events are for selected invitees only. The people were chosen and invited privately, after a lot of careful consideration. Chosen for their true passion and dedication for Disney, these people are ambassadors representing dreams and Dreamers everywhere who share the same level of enthusiasm.
The events will be closed events, and not publicly viewable, but the Dreamers group will have access to the social network sites listed below, through the dedicated Dreamers pages, where everyone at home can follow their amazing journey.
Thank you for all your support and questions.

And bollocks to that bit, sorry lol. I don't believe any of it ;) like to know how many r children.... Plus, how do u determine who is a bigger 'fan' on passion?? I know a few ppl, like urself Steve, who run Disney sites and bet they weren't considered...

Sorry, just a flannel of an excuse....

I would absolutely love to, but Denise works Fridays till 7-7.30pm so we'd have to leave Saturday morning and by the time we got there it would all be over, unless it's in the evening, in which case I'm in! Well, I'd need to pay out for a second Eurotunnel ticket and an extra night in the apartment, and.......oh yeah, I'd need an invite!!!

I bet if this is successful it will be offered as a holiday option to anyone next year - an expensive one!

I'm happy being there at half term - I'd hate to be one of the moaners who were cut off from access to characters or teased with appearances and be told to move back......but I'm looking forward to hearing about the Asian park trips so I can gain more knowledge for our future (way into the future) trip :-)
I think I'd be shattered with all those time zone hops, best of luck to the special people!! And we know you have to be special to be chosen. I just feel really really bad for those who deserve a trip like this, and miss out to the suck ups who are suddenly best friends with people to get what they want. I can guarantee that this is not a fair invite system, who the hell has the right to determine who is a better "fan" than anyone else anyway? Some of the board members here have been involved with DLP from the start. They have a real passion about the place - not just a fan, but a real love of the parks - even without the characters involved!

Being scared of flying kind of hampers me on this kind of trip, that and not being able to take a month off of work! What an experience though - I wonder if Mystic Point will be open by then?

Not sure - but that would be quite something!!

I wander if DLP realise how negatively this is going to come off to lots of people (including me)

Sorry to say it but the posts up to now from the "Dreamers"have come off as very self serving and back patting - I can name at least 6 people truely amazing people in my family and friend circle who I would consider "special"and deserving" people who give everything to look after someone else, people who set themselves right at the bottom of the list of priorities, people who humbly go all this without proclaiming themselves to be "special" Hopefully there are some really deserving people going on this. No objections to a privately organised trip of this kind - of course not!! but do not understand how Disney think this is good PR?:confused3:confused3

Would love to know how people got chosen or even heard about it in the first place if noone on any of off the many forums knew about ????

It doesn't actually say anywhere that Disney chose the people and all the communication thus far has been from non Disney people, so I'm thinking the only involvement from Disney are the special events at each park and that the trip is self funded.

The entertainment is private, and Disney parks do do that for other occasions too.

We have to remember that one of the main people who appears to be involved is part of the family who owns 10% of EuroDisney and helped saved the resort in 1994. That has to come with some decent level of entitlement.

Agree Steve (and sorry to hear ud b no good on it due to the flying... Ill go in ur place lol)

I think it's a private non related to Disney self funded thing, which is being incorrectly marketed as being a Disney event, implying ppl were chosen, when in fact they haven't...

We all do Disney trips, but we don't all make into a big event and pretend its sumthin it's not and basically promote it everywhere....

Ok, they r going, fair enuf, go, enjoy it, but don't ram it down our throats.... It's worse than a 'wish u were here, but ha, ur not' postcard....

Tell me to hush if its too nosey or inappropriate but whats the story with this? Its the suck up bit that has me curious...
I get that its a bit of a sham that it appears to be a thing of chance or luck and infact is not about fairness but its all a bit intriguing or mysterious about who was chosen and moreso why.

by the looks of things no-one has been chosen by Disney at all (just going on whats been said here in this thread).

If its self-funded, fair enough - don't really understand why it would be promoted in any way by Disney themselves though, as thats where misunderstandings could occur in my opinion (for example I wouldn't be impressed to find out DLP was involved in spending shedloads of money on something like this when theres so much work still needs to be done around the resort).

Can we stick to the actual facts as we know them, and not be speculating here please?

exactly

So basically CharacterCentral and some 'select' people will be off having the time off their lives with special events arranged by Disney and they will then be sharing this on social media with everyone else.

Sounds ace if your going, just a shame it can['t be shared with everyone else other than a blog or twit.

Just sounds like a big party that we're not invited to. :(

Good luck to the lucky ones and I hope they have a fantastic time, come on let's face it none of us would turn a chance of a lifetime like this down if we could help it!

I just hope the private events really are private as in can't be seen by regular guests as that's a bit hard to stomach when you've got young children with you.

You don't HAVE to follow it - see, there are some benefits to me being twitterless and an infrequent facebooker! ;) :rotfl2:
