Disney Dream transatlantic October 20 2024

I am pretty sure the Mexican place is a done deal . . And I am worried a bit about the fate of Satellite Falls. I agree it was quiet up there, but that was part of the appeal. So let’s hope they were “smart” in their expansion of the concierge space. We’ll know tomorrow! Looks like the sail away party might be damp. Showers predicted.

As a new empty nester and visitor to adult areas and excited for them on the Fantasy in Feb, i sure hope they are not shrinking them - Satellite Falls replaced by Tacos or concierge deck expansion ☹️ - Eager the hear and see what they do. Please dont reduce the area to Wish size… that would be super disappointing!

As someone who will never ever sail “concierge” (sort of an afterthought for DCL) I hope they keep the “regular” adults happy with enough kid free space? I would think the percentage of concierge adults would actually be quite small?

1250 cabins. Approx 2500 adults. Maybe 100 concierge (that seems high but Google wouldn’t tell me) so 200 adult concierge.

So that’s 8%.

Not sure where I am going with this but they don’t need ALL of Satellite Falls, right?

We’re on the Dream next month so are also anxiously awaiting updates from dry dock. Sailing concierge this cruise to celebrate my birthday, so am extra excited to see those updates. Personally, I don’t think the expansion will be toward the Satellite Falls area. There’s that entire other side to use. I would be really surprised if they did that.

FWIW, the last photo I saw of her in Dry Dock it looked like the teal glass wall was still there between Satellite Falls and the existing concierge sun deck. Fingers crossed they didn’t take away my favorite space on board … they literally had to add that space due to the complaints about lack of adult space on the Dream when it debuted. But they seem to be wanting to reinvent the wheel with the current team in charge. People on the design teams bragging that they have never worked on cruise ship design is just bizarre IMO …

I would assume the tacos are going on the pool deck. And for me, Donald’s Cantina can take up as much space as it wants. By far the best pool deck food (except the shawarma that’s on the Magic and Wonder, that’s good too.)

The trend with Disney is to marginalize the regular paying guests. Let's hope the cruise line doesn't follow.

Per the deck plans, 42 Concierge cabins.

Is the Dream Tower Suite new with Drydock? It’s Edge on Fantasy (Deck 13).

I'm excited to see the Dream after drydock. We were just on the Dream end of June/beginning of July in Europe, so we booked a "comparison cruise" for November out of Florida to check out the updates! I know a lot the crew were speculating "sails" might be in place over the bar area at Currents but it doesn't look like that from the reports. I'll be checking in on Disboards to see pics that might come in from the Transatlantic leaving tomorrow!

I’m very curious as well! I’ll be disappointed if the Satellite Falls area is gone on our cruise - particularly since it’s still being touted on their website as an “Onboard Oasis” where I can “savor top-deck ocean views and quality “me time” at the fountain and wading pool” …
We are curious too, we are scheduled on next fall's WBTA on the Fantasy. The changes this year on Dream will be done to the Fantasy next year.
