Disney Dream- September 25th 4-Night Bahamian Cruise!

I don't mind setting another private Facebook page :thumbsup2

There were quite a few Jens in our group
Not sure which one you spoke to,but were you guys the family I spoke to while waiting for Beach Blanket Buffet to open up for lunch?

I am soooo with you on that one Mack. We're having our vow renewal on the island,no matter what mother nature says :lmao:

Seriously though... I really hope we get to CC next year since this was our first Disney cruise & was really looking forward to it.

Not sure if we were the ones you spoke with....I don't think we ever made it to the Beach Blanket Buffet....you probably saw us though....we were the family of five with an uncooperative 2 yr. old!!! We met online through our stateroom neighbor who had one of her FE's which we fell in love with....they were kind enough to give us her info. She, in turn, tuned us in the the DISboard and the FE tradition....we are so excited and hoping for a better time next year!!

 popcorn:: It's a small world after all, It's a small world after all [3 rd verse-same as the 1st] IT's........A....small...small....world. popcorn::......THANK YOU..............THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Okay - This group must liven up some! Perhaps we need a posting game to get us going with prizes at the on board meet! C'mon folks - we need to start having the good time now and make it last the year! Any questions from first-timers????

tikimimi...No questions right now, but I did want to thank you for the e-mail you sent me. It was very nice of you. Hopefully I'll be able to use some of your suggestions. First I'll have to learn how to make an excel spreadsheet, or else assign my 12 year old to the task :lmao: He's way better on the computer than I am.

Up until this point we have been a pretty quite thread, but it looks like that might be changing now as the countdown to the Dream begins.

I hope the tips help - feel free to use any, all, or none - no worries on my end.

Hello everyone...My DH and I will be on this cruise. No children going as DD works now and DS will be in school. DS not upset with us going as he gets seasick!! This will be our 3rd cruise. We did the FE last year for the 1st time and it was fun. Please add us to the FE list. I am trying to get another couple to go with us (they went with us on the 2004 cruise).

:welcome: Tracy! We are also sailing "sans kiddos" as ours are in the work force and a junior in college. I hope you can get your friends to go - cruising is so much fun with friends! Our friends from 2008 and 2010 cruises, Kamy and Steve, are also going this time - makes for GOOD TIMES!

Welcome Tracy!! I added your name to the FE list. If you let me know your husbands name and your stateroom I'll add those details as well. Can't wait to meet all of you in September.

The word on the street is that the upcharge for dining at Remy on board the Dream will be $75 each. I realize this may be wrong or may change, but for the sake of discussion, does anyone think this is reasonable? :confused3

I guess you can tell I don't, but I am not a fine dining dude. (See, I threw dude in there just to make sure you knew I meant it!) :)

Your thoughts?

Remy will be 75.00 a person. We were told by the service team in Palo that it will be a seven course meal. The meal will also include a glass of wine to go with your dinner. A 15 dollar upcharge for Palo is fine, but a 75 upchage is crazy. Along with the 500.00 cabannas. :confused3:confused3:confused3

:thumbsup2 After 10 cruises the sir-charge at PALO is lifted..............I just wonder how many cruises you need for REMY.................:confused3........100 cruises maybe?

For real, Don! Kamy is platinum now after the last cruise. I would love to have my Palo surcharge lifted. Here's my question - is it lifted regardless of how many times you go? I mean I know you can only reserve one night, one brunch, and one tea, but you can always do walk-up to see if there's room. If yo do that and you're platinum, do you get them all without paying the $15? I won't be platinum any time soon, but it's nice to think about!

Hi All! A lot of people have joined since I have been away. Life got a little busy. I'll be checking more frequently now. Did anyone create a private facebook page?

We cruised the Carnival Fantasy out of Charleston on October 4. It was a nice vacation in that we left the kids with my parents and sailed with another couple. However, we could not escape cigarette smoke. We ended up paying $70/person to go to the Blue Lagoon in Nassau. It was nothing like Castaway Cay. The shows were just song and dance routines. I think I'll stick with Disney!!

We had friends on the Sept. 26 Wonder. This was their first cruise. We were hoping they would rebook onboard for our 2011 cruise. Not docking in Castaway Cay was a real bummer for them and they did not rebook.

I look forward to hearing more from everyone as we get closer to cruise date.

I can imagine they would be very unhappy about mssing Castaway Cay. This was our 2nd Disney cruise but on the first one we went to CC twice so we did OK missing it this time. We don't want to miss it next time! I was jogging on Deck 4 on our CC day and they actually prepared to dock (closed the front end of the jogging path as it goes into the area where they store the lines for docking). We were within 200 yards or so of the dock and the weather seemed fine at the time but apparently the currents were too much. It was hard to be that close, see the Flying Dutchman, etc. and then sail away. In the end though, we were on a Disney ship, so life wasn't that bad! :)

Sailing with Mickey is better than anything without Mickey! I missed Castaway Cay but I was happy being on the ship, going to the spa, and enjoying Diversions and friends!

:) Hi MIMI and MACK, what you guys been up to........don't anwser that. Well for me , you know that day we ran into you guys at the desks while booking a new cruise. Well..............we took that "dummy" and put it to good use this past week [oct20th] YES...YES... we booked on the FANTASY for MAY 2012. A 7 day eastern cruise ,WOW! We have not done an eastern one yet, did 2 western in 06 & 09. You guys book in and go with us. It came with $275.00 OBC. :thumbsup2

So Don, are you still going on this one? We are contemplating moving this one to a 5 day in March of 2012. Not sure yet what we're going to do. I'd love to do eastern though at some point. We've done western, so eastern and southern are wishes. I still want Aulani in 2012 too though. Where, oh where is my winning lottery ticket?

MIMI won't that 5 day cost the same as a 7 day eastern??????
