Oh she looks so pretty all lit up. Shame she had to come back early due to the storm though :(

I like the idea of the 1:45pm meet. We get to port around 1-1:15pm and want to explore the ship, so an early meet before we do that sounds great :)

Have you decided on where we're all meeting?

How about 1:45pm at 687 - a contemporary sports bar located on Deck 4, Aft in The District area on the Disney Dream, is a sophisticated yet friendly venue where families can partake in activities and games during the day, and adults can unwind with a cocktail at night.

Are we going to have a second meet at 3pm or just the 1:45? Does anyone not anticipate being on board, or able to make it at 1:45?

I think we can make the 1:45! :yay: Looking forward to meeting everyone. 3PM should be OK for us, too. party:

I do hope we can make our port stops. It is our first cruise and I want my feet to touch the ground in both Nassau and CC! I'll be really disappointed if that doesn't happen. Guess time will tell about that.

I haven't started packing yet because our suitcases are currently in Las Vegas with our cat sitters. I do have my packing list all made out though. :rolleyes1 I'm starting to drive everyone crazy  with my constant updates on how many days till we sail. :sail: I told them today that they should be grateful I haven't been bugging them for the past 17 months since we booked this cruise!:banana:

Now all we need is some pixiedust: that there be no major damage anywhere and that we get good weather when it's our turn to go. :jumping1:

yeah i'm really worried that Castaway Cay will be closed, there are threads here that say CC was closed for 2-3 weeks in 2004, after Hurricane Frances.

i'm watching the main forum for trip reports of the current cruise (8/25) that left yesterday. I have a feeling those folks might have 3 "days at sea"... if they actually do stop at Castaway Cay on Saturday, that would be great news.

The CC stop is 3 weeks from tomorrow. So hopefully it will be open.

We will just have to wait and see.

Someone on another thread said that a DCL rep told them via phone that the Dream docked at Nassau at like 10:30 this morning or something like that. According to that person the itinerary has not changed for the current sailing...which means they're supposed to dock at CC tomorrow. All my years of living with hurricanes and what they do, I find that to be quite optimistic but who knows? If anyone could pull something like that off I guess I'd have to say it'd be Disney. Right?

I was reading the experiences of past cruisers with CC post-hurricane(s). I think one person said after Floyd CC was closed for a month. Can't remember. They all say the same thing, that the vegetation was all brown & dead. That concerns me. I've seen the brown/dead vegetation that is caused by salt water inundation from storm surges plenty of times in southeast Louisiana and not far from where we live now in southeast Texas in marsh areas. Everytime I've seen it before it was accompanied by the stench of rotting vegetation. That's one of those smells that I can't tolerate. For real. The thought of it nauseates me. I hope & pray this will not be the case on an island. I'd hate for us to be docked there and me hiding from the stench on the ship.

got to see the dream leaving yesterday. it was awesome. hope we get to go to CC but will understand if we don't get too. I have spa treatments scheduled that morning and was only getting off the ship in the afternoon to look around.

I wouldn't worry about the cruise being canceled, but if there are weather issues, I would DEFINITELY worry about flight delays and/or cancellations. If you can't make the cruise because of a flight issue, you WILL lost out on all the money you paid for your cruise. :scared::scared1::scared1:

Thank you. Looked into insurance today to late to book through the cruise line. I called access America they had high call volumes d/t Irene. So I visited the site and natural disasters weren't covered. I will call tomorrow to speak with someone. I just don't want to miss the boat. I'm so excited about my first cruise. I just wouldn't want to loose the money or worst miss the boat and not be able to rebook at a later date.

I thought that being that we are under 20 days the chatter would pick up. I hope that all is well with everyone, and I also really hope that we make it to CC. I know that I won't have my fill of Disney, so the kids and I are going back to Disney in October for MNSSHP . DH refused to go back Disney so soon:confused3, so I am having to fly my brother in from SC to travel down with me. I know that I can do it all by myself, but that last time I took my son by myself I caught a migraine and was unable to feed my then 5year old for 2 hours while I slept. Poor thing just laid in the bed with me and watched cartoons until I woke up. That was the second migraine I had, I did not develop them until I was on a tour in Iraq. That is the last place you want to be sick with anything. Also working at a hospital in a highly visited beach town, I see it all to often when parents are traveling alone with their kids, and they get hurt or even worse die(I have seen it). Don't mean to be a downer on such a happy board just had to share. ALL and ALL I can't wait for more DISNEY:yay:! The trip is going to be a surprise for the kids, they won't figure it out until we hit I-75.

I know how it feels with all the planning. Hopefully you are not stressing to bad. Good luck with all the planning and everything will come along just fine. One question for you, "What is the most important thing to wear on your wedding day?" That's if you haven't heard that one yet.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say hello. Trying to get everything done for our two trips. Remind me not to plan a vacation cruise before a wedding cruise. Too much too worry about.

But had to get my own vacation in somewhere before the wedding stress. But all in all I guess really a wedding is happy!! :lovestruc

See you all soon.

Becky

Hope ya'll are having a great Tuesday. The count down is getting close now!!! Like Toria said we are under 20 days now - something like 15 days away!!!:woohoo::cool1::banana:

I read somewhere on here that Castaway Cay didn't have that much damage. They thought they would have to dredge out for the ship to be able to dock, but that wouldn't take much more then a day to do that. Some clean up on the island..............I hope that poster knew what he was talking about.:thumbsup2

I've actually heard thru my TAs office that they expect to be receiving guests on CC as soon as next week. Now to just watch that next storm out in the Atlantic. Hubby & I still don't have a problem with riding some 'Deadliest Catch' type seas. Both of us think that'd be terrific fun! We're nuts! I know! LOL!

Only 10 days 'til we start our adventure. Insane. I still have so much to do. Lots of drama and craziness with the old man's work and car trouble. Some days it's like "Why does life hate us?" We're determined to push thru and get there. If it kills us, we just wanna get there.

Chris and Steffie Murphy here giving a shout out that we are excited to be going on our first Disney cruise.:woohoo: The "FE" gifts, with a little pixie dust, are done and I hope you all enjoy them! Hope to see you on board:cool1:

You scared me there for a minute, I had to look at the FE list and make sure that you were not left off. On the list you are Spooncesfriends, so I did not remember seeing that last name Murphy or PixieSteffie. Glad that is cleared up .:goodies I can't wait to meet everyone as well.:yay:
