Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

Not long now, safe flight to those going soon :)

Thanks David. We're gonna check out onboard what a cruise for next year would cost. if the figures are right Alaska here we come :teeth:

Just make sure you give your TAs name when you book onboard. If you don't DCL won't give the TA the normal commission and they probably won't be able to give the full OBC that they normally would. :thumbsup2

Yes, excellent point DizDragonfly. Be sure to tell the agent on board your TA's name so they can get credit for your booking on board and of course your TA's OBC if they offer one.

Just 11 more days everyone. Tori, DW and I have always had a problem with motion sickness. Because of that we put off on going on a cruise thinking it would bother us. We couldn't have been more wrong. We have never had a problem with motion sickness on any of our cruises. But like you we do take the remedies with us.........just in case. Better be safe then sorry. This is going to soooooo much fun for everyone!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I read on a different blog that we can take a white pillowcase or a matte frame with a pen to the front desk for character signatures. Is this true?

Yes, you can get one item per person signed. We have the solid 9" vinylmations. You just drop them at guest services along with the markers or paint pens you want them to use.

If all goes as scheduled, we'll be on the ground in Orlando in 6 hours. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I hope y'all made it okay! Time is flying! :woohoo:

I'm still finishing up our shirts for MNSSHP...gotta get the box ready to ship to the port...packing packing packing...laundry...housecleaning...hair appointments...mani/pedi...wash the car... and ooooh to have time for just 1 more sewing project! I wish. I think I'll be sufficiently exhausted to sleep for the 12 hour drive to WDW.

Safe travels everyone!

We are not leaving until Wednesday 9/14 (a whole 9 days away), but have tons of stuff to do. We are slowly packing so we don't forget something we need that if this was not a wedding trip we wouldn't need (i.e., marriage license, wedding bands, etc). I'm so excited that we are close. I traded today for Friday at work. Mom and Dan are leaving Friday for their pre-wedding cruise vacation so I'm dropping them off at the airport.

Counting the rest of today, I have 3 1/2 work days left and I'm on vacation until the 26th of September.
I also have my work wedding shower on Thursday which makes it more like 3 days of actual work. :thumbsup2

I look forward to meeting everyone!

Sounds like a few of you are heading this way! :cool1:
Because we are local, we will be leaving our house the morning of the cruise, so I'm still sitting here tingling with excitement! We will be celebrating our actual anniversary at Cape May with friends on the 12th, so if you're around there, look for us. We will be wearing our Mickey & Minnie Wedding shirts.

I have some newbie cruiser questions....
Do we need to bring our own beach towels?
Do they rent snorkel vests separately from the package on CC? We will be bringing our own snorkel gear but don't have vests, although I do have 1 old scuba BC I could bring if I have to.
Is it safe to leave our snorkel gear on the beach at CC while we do other things like bike riding?

Thanks for your help. :thumbsup2

I can't wait till we go cruising! :yay::yay::yay:

I think we're supposed to be having lunch at Les Chefs on your anniversary. If we spot ya we'll say hello. We're gonna miss you by a day. After we do our family portraits in World Showcase on the morning of the 11th we have an ADR at the Captain's Grille for a late breakfast. Mmmm....

I'm a noob to cruising, too, but I've already gotten some of your answers. No on the beach towels unless you want to have your own big, plush towels. At some point either the night before or that morning on the way off the ship you'll get handed a tote bag or something with a towel for each of you. My guess is you bring them back in the same bag. If you bring your own snorkel & mask (we are) they will let you use the vest things free of charge. No rental needed. And you don't have to be signed up for any excursion to do that. Nice, huh? I hadn't really given any thought to leaving our snorkels & masks on the beach while we do other stuff. Good thinking. I can picture a kid innocently spying nicer stuff than Disney rents and thinking, "Bingo!" LOL! I'm going to pack one of our Ikea tarp bags to tote the snorkel gear down to the beach in. When we leave 'em sitting with all our other things we'll put them inside the bag and snap it shut. Love those bags. Best giganto lightweight beach or water park totes ever!

I'm so excited!!!! :cool1:

Thanks for the info on the vests. One less thing to worry about packing. We're only going for 3 days & I feel like I'm packing for 3 weeks! :scared1:
I think I need to look into one of those IKEA bags! I have a really old nylon bag I've been using for years and it's starting to show it's age.

More newbie questions....

Do they have beach chairs on CC?
Do you have to bring hangers for your dressy clothes?

I think I'll go on over to the main cruise board & see what info I can find there.

I can hardly wait for our cruise! :sunny::boat::sunny:

Yep, there's beach chairs and a few hammocks. Not sure on the hangers. Our dressier stuff will already be hanging in the garment bag/suitcase my mother-in-law let us borrow.

I can't wait either! :thumbsup2

I had no idea this thread existed.

We'll be on this sailing as well. Next Thursday is also my birthday!

Let's all blow out the candles together and maybe that will make this freaking storm stay REALLY far away from where we'll be. Okay? Okay.

Welcome!

Saturday the 17th is my wedding on Castaway Cay. I've been praying :worship: to the weather gods that the storm will turn or dissipate. Anyone is welcome to join in my prayers. :thumbsup2

Hoping and praying that Maria will stay way out to sea and be a :fish: storm, and that she not invite any of her hurricane friends to come our way either!

Didn't get to watch the PC: webcam today but saw the Dream on the local news reports talking about the bomb sniffing dogs who will be patrolling Port Canaveral.

I can hardly wait till next Thurs!
