Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

Glad to hear things are looking good for you! Thoughts and prayers for your recovery are being sent your way! Looking forward to meeting you in Sept.!

I appreciate the thoughts and prayers. I'm so ready for our cruise. :rotfl:
I'm looking forward to saying hi to everyone :)
See you soon
Dee

Can't wait...this time next week I'll be in Orlando for a extra long weekend! There's a pin event at the Contemporary resort on Friday night! Hoping to find some fun cruise necessities while I'm there in Mickey World!:banana::banana::banana:

Yall -I have really bad news. I have to cancel my cruise with this group. :sad2: We moved to Alaska and the cost to get there for a family of five is way too much to jusify the trip. I will have to remove my name from the FE list. I wish I could win the lottery - but I don't see that happening any time soon. The upside is that we are able to book the 7-day Wonder to the Mexico form LA with a trip to Disneyland before. I really hope you all have a great trip! I will be thinking of you and I can't wait to hear about it. So work on those trip reports!!
Sorry to hear that! At least you will still get some Disney magic on your Mexican cruise. Take care!

Sorry I've been away. I had surgery on June 8th and thought I might have to cancel my cruise. Luckily everything is looking good and I'm trying to schedule my chemotherapy around our cruise. I may lose my hair but I'm not losing my Disney spirit.
I'll see you all there and am looking forward to our FE :thumbsup2
Deepirate:

I will pray for you and as long as you keep the faith in God everything will work out for the good. I had to tell myself that just recently, because I was told this week that I have some high grade precancerous cells. So in two weeks I am going to be put under and they are going to cut them out. I am such a worry wort, we just have to remember that God will not put on us what we can not bear. I am also looking at it as he is working on my testimony, because this is only a test. Keep the faith and everything will be alright. Disney spirit doesn't hurt either. Look forward to meeting you. Take care and be blessed!

The last of us first-timers were able to do our online check-in...finally! I stayed up late last night and tried from 12:15 to 1:30 CST and couldn't get in. Finally I got fed up and just went to bed. I woke up at 7-ish this morning and got back online. Checked-in without a problem. The earliest port arrival time that was available was 11:00. I was hoping for better but oh well. Here's to hoping they don't start enforcing that before September. :thumbsup2 Didn't book any added stuff: no excursions, meal upgrades, nadda. We're just happy to be there. When we get there if something appeals we'll do it if it's available. Otherwise, I'm sure there will be plenty to do.

Happy 4th everybody!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Same for us.....we decided to do all the "included" stuff this time. Our last two trips on the Wonder we felt like we were "booked" up and didn't get to do the stuff on the ship. Maybe our boys can get together...mine will be 16 by the time we cruise and he's hoping to find some guys to hang out with.

Word on the main board is that the terminal's new opening time, as of 8/1, will be 11 am. So, congrats on getting the earliest time! :thumbsup2 That's what I got too.

Looks like teen boys will be well represented! My boys 16 and 14 will be there as well. :goodvibes Although, I don't think my two will be around each other much. They don't get along well and tend to gravitate away from one another.

First off I want to :welcome::welcome::welcome: taraneh005 and family to the cruise. You are going to have one GREAT time aboard the Dream. We all are as excited as kids in a candy store to be sailing on this wonderful ship!!!

DW and I are going to do some last minute shopping today to finish out our shopping for the cruise. Just a few small things we seemed to forget...................underwear............how do you forget to buy new underwear!!!!:confused3:rolleyes1:confused3:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

The earliest we could get for a port arrival time was 10:30am. That seemed to be the earliest time aynone could get. But like so many we are early arrivers at the port. Guess DW and I will be one of the first in line as they open up the doors. :cool1::cool1::banana:

I did not book any extras either. We will take it day by day. I also got the 11:00 showtime as well. Can't wait to get on board.:woohoo:

Yep. I know this is a short cruise by cruise standards but we wanted something that would fit nicely within our WDW adventure and give us the opportunity to test the cruisin' waters. The Dream seems to have sooooo much awesome stuff to do. For a non-beachy girl like me, it's perfect!

We definitely need to do a meet maybe at the terminal or shortly after boarding. Heck, at the rate this group is going we could schedule a time to meet up for Open House at the Vibe and have half of the group there. Dis'ers take over The Vibe! I'm in! Let's break out the Rock Band!!!

Now THAT's encouraging! Next stop is that link! Maybe I won't have to get up at the crack of dawn after all....

I'd like to say "it depends on the day of the week" as to when my boys will get along but then I'd be entirely too optimistic. It's more like which way the breeze is blowing this 30 seconds. I keep telling them I need to get their daddy to re-check and make sure they're still boys. With all the drama, wacked-out mood-swings, and flying hormones there's got to be girls in there somewhere. :rotfl2:

"Showtime"! That's funny! I like the idea of the port arrival/boarding process being "showtime". Good description. They do announce you like a celeb. Now that I think about it, as fun as the family announcement is and I get the whole personal welcome thing, it is sorta odd. I mean, is there gonna be someone within earshot that hears your name and thinks, "Oh wow! I didn't know the _____'s were here! Let's go say hi!" Gosh. That's an idea. Go hang round the atrium a while then when other families are announced go rushing over like they're long lost relatives just to see the reactions you get. I wouldn't want to creep out another family but it'd sure be funny. My bunch has the right sense of humor. If someone did that to us we'd play right along and love it. :lmao:

Hummm...I registered a couple of weeks ago and got 10:30....wonder what that means for us?:confused3

If I understood correctly, those people who were previous able to get the 10:30 slot, will find that their time has changed if they check it online. I wouldn't expect times for this cruise to have changed just yet though, because they are working on the cruises that are happening soonest first. If Disney goes through with the change, the doors to the Terminal and the Parking Garage won't even open until 11am.

I had planned on arriving early too. But seriously, I'm not going to wait around _outside_ for two hours before the doors unlock. I'll be checking the cruise boards for reports on how this is going. Luckily, we have just more than a month for people to start reporting their experiences here. :thumbsup2

Exactly! Me, too! We had originally planned to have a 7:30 breakfast at Kona Cafe (what better way to start embarkation day than Tonga Toast?!) and be pulling off-property at 8:30 set for a 9:30 port parking. However, if we can't even pull into the garage until 11 that means I don't have to get up until 7 which would be looooovely vs. 6-ish. Heck, I might get up at 6 and have time to go for a run before starting the day!!!! Definitely gonna keep an eye on this. If you spot anything before I do come back here and post so we can all stay up-to-date. :teacher:

Off the top of my head...you got bass, right?! I'll take guitar. Anyone for drums??? I *can* manage drums but not very well. I feel like a flailing idiot then they throw in the foot-thing and I get worse...if that's possible. :rotfl2:

Yup, I'm all about the bass! My DH can do the drums, if there's no other takers. So, who's gonna be our lead singer?
