Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

We are planning on getting off at Nassau for just a bit. We enjoy walking around and seeing the market but don't venture too far from ship.

Ohhh I think my oldest would just love the pirate museumpirate:
The cake would be nice but after just seeing someones blog on the deserts:cloud9: I think she will be just fine. I really want to get off a nassau just a wee bit for some souvenier and some photo ops but not really much else. I think both my kids would love the pools. We're doing private swimming lessons once a week to prepare:thumbsup2 I think my husband will be eating off the kids menu the whole time:confused:scared:3 how embarassing.SUPER PICKY

Nassau.... We are on a B2B and I do plan on getting off for a wee bit on the first leg of our cruises. But THIS leg, well the OASIS Of THE SEAS will be in port with us, and THATS a LOT of people so I think that will be our stay on board and enjoy OUR ship day.

The Oasis had been scheduled for our day (9/16), but now it's not. :confused3 There are two other ships in port though. Two Carnival ships ... http://cruisett.com/ports.php?PortID=455&date=37. One of the ships isn't scheduled to arrive until Noon. So, the morning should be somewhat manageable. :thumbsup2

Really!!!! OHHHHH, thats too bad, I was REALLY looking forward to laying on on the OASIS. But at least there will be other ships there. We've been to Nassau Twice before and both times there was no other ship docked with us the same day. So it will at least be nice to see some other ships :)

Hello all hope everone is having a good weekend so far. :flower3:
Just got back from seeing Cars 2 with kids:thumbsup2 . Cute movie.
I have a question - anyone ever have a cake ordered during reservation making?? Its my oldest birthday why we're crusing and it asked if we wanted a cake but I did't know what it entailed:idea: any help would be greatly appreciated. Is any one planning on getting of @ nassau? I think its a definite for the kids club, she is insisting.:upsidedow

We plan on getting off to get our passports stamped, walk around a little and stopping by the straw market. I am still up in the air about the whole Atlantis visit. We spent 7 days in the Bahamas awhile back, and we didn't make it to the Atlantis. That is a good question about the cake, because I wanted to have one in the room when we get on the ship. DH, DS and my birthday are all around cruise time, thought it it be something a special.

:thumbsup2I hope ya'll are having a GREAT Monday!!!:thumbsup2

DW and I this past week-end got everything we are taking on our B2B cruise all in one place - room. We wanted to be sure we didn't forget anything important. It sure looks like allot of stuff to be taking. I told DW I don't think we will be able to get it all in our suitcases!!!:confused3 She said, "just watch me!!!" When she puts her mind to something, it seems to always get done!!! Gotta love that gal!!!:love: She kept walking out of the room and bringing in more STUFF!!! I will try to help pack...........but I just know I'm going to get in her way! She has this system............and it always works.:confused3:confused3:confused3

Well, I got some errands to do today. Got me some new glasses. Sure hope these help. My last pair just didn't seem to be the right perscription. My eyes did change according to the eye dr. Got some lighter weight frames too. I'm going to be looking sharpe for an old dude!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Everyone take care and have a GREAT day!!! :thumbsup2

I WANT to start getting everything together too but must wait till we surprise Tim with this cruise on the 23rd of July!! I've arranged for a call to him from Mickey Mouse at 8pm that evening, telling him about the cruise!! I hope to record the call on video, which means I'll only get Tim's end of it, but still that should be cute. Glasses, DAVID, do you wear transition lenses or do have a separate pair of prescription sunglasses? What do you prefer, two pair or the all in one?
I have an apt on the 8th to get my eyes checked and I just KNOW I'll need a new prescription. Currently I have two sets of glasses (regular and sunglasses) but find it awkward at times. Like yesterday I took my little Tim to IKEA for lunch but forgot my regular glasses in the van and it was a LONG walk back to the van so I made do with the sunglasses indoors, but I got strange looks from people :) I'm thinking of the transition lenses like I've had in the past, but I recall not likeing how long they took to clear once indoors.

Judy, can you put the call on speaker so you can hear both ends of the conversation?

And I don't know if transitions have gotten better or not, but Samantha got her first pair this year and loves them. I can't stand them because any outside pictures has her in sunglasses and that's a HUGE pet peeve of mine, so she may be without glasses in outdoor pictures so I can see her pretty brown eyes. Once she comes inside she doesn't really notice that they take a long time to come back to normal....just a thought.

Yall -I have really bad news. I have to cancel my cruise with this group. :sad2: We moved to Alaska and the cost to get there for a family of five is way too much to jusify the trip. I will have to remove my name from the FE list. I wish I could win the lottery - but I don't see that happening any time soon. The upside is that we are able to book the 7-day Wonder to the Mexico form LA with a trip to Disneyland before. I really hope you all have a great trip! I will be thinking of you and I can't wait to hear about it. So work on those trip reports!!

Sorry to see you leave. Thats very understandable about the airfare costs from that far away. Glad to see you will still be cruising with Disney though, and Disney Land!!! Awesome!! :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear you won't be joining us, but at the same time so jealous to hear you'll be doing a 7 night on the Wonder!!!! I can't remember the last time we did a 7 night cruise! Good luck with the lottery...ya never know! :thumbsup2 And I will remove your info from the FE list. I hope the move to Alaska went well and that you are getting settled in and hopefully have nice neighbors!

Like threeiscrazy, I am not a big fan of the transition lenses Judy. I did have them a couple of prescriptions ago. Down here in the Florida sun they just don't get dark enough to wear them all of the time outside. My eye doctor even said that he suggests to all of his patients to get the sun glasses. And the ones I did have a while ago didn't turn back to normal fast enough for me once I came in from outside. So, I always get two pairs of glasses when I go to the eye doctor.
After getting my new ones fitted on my way out I tripped over a chair.:confused3 And, I was not wearing the sun glasses. I looked at everone who was staring at me and said........new glasses!!! Everyone just nodded in agreement!:lmao:
Garsh.................how embarassing!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Disney's premier outlet!!! I LOVE that place :yay: We stopped there on our way home last fall (we drove down) and then WISHED we had stopped there BEFORE going to WDW and the cruise! I wouldn't have spent so much then at WDW AND the Cruise :) Sounds like you too found some fabulous deals there! :thumbsup2

Jealous!!! And I don't even know for sure what it is. :confused3 We don't even have a Disney store anywhere around us anymore. :sad2:

I remember moving to Charleston and being "dropped", husband went TDY 36 hours after we got to town and I had a dog and two little ones and the movers...ugghh! I promised my then 18 month old and soon to be 4 year old that if they would just get through the day with the movers by spending it in the master bathroom with the dog and a bunch of movies I would take them to lunch and the Disney store the next day. I was  and  to find out there wasn't a Disney Store anywhere around. I didn't think such places existed. LOL

Sorry I've been away. I had surgery on June 8th and thought I might have to cancel my cruise. Luckily everything is looking good and I'm trying to schedule my chemotherapy around our cruise. I may lose my hair but I'm not losing my Disney spirit.
I'll see you all there and am looking forward to our FE :thumbsup2
