Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

If I understood correctly, those people who were previous able to get the 10:30 slot, will find that their time has changed if they check it online. I wouldn't expect times for this cruise to have changed just yet though, because they are working on the cruises that are happening soonest first. If Disney goes through with the change, the doors to the Terminal and the Parking Garage won't even open until 11am.

I had planned on arriving early too. But seriously, I'm not going to wait around _outside_ for two hours before the doors unlock. I'll be checking the cruise boards for reports on how this is going. Luckily, we have just more than a month for people to start reporting their experiences here. :thumbsup2

I just hope they bump us 10:30ers to 11:00 and don't try to put us later! My online still says 10:30.

I hope so too! They still had all times available on the 75 day mark. So, maybe there aren't a lot of pre-planners booked for this cruise? :confused3

Judy great picture!!! Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

I just realized something...................this is our second leg of the b2b cruise we are doing on the Dream. So we will already be inside the terminal.
(sorry!) We have to get off from the earlier 4 day cruise for about 45 minutes to an hour between cruises, then we are escorted back on by a DCL CM. (Is my face red or what?!??!:headache:) Our arrival time for the earlier 4 day cruise still says 10:30am, I just checked. Don't know if it will stay there or not though.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July today. :cool1::banana::woohoo:

DW and I watched the Dream dock at the Disney terminal this morning!:cool1: DW had to go to work this morning, so I got up when she did. I turned on the computer and for some reason went to Port Canaveral's webcam and there was the Dream backing in to the terminal. it was dark but she was all light up so you could see her very well backing in. Go to Port Camaveral's website and check out their webcam. You can see about half of her sitting at the terminal. Wish they had a better view of her.

Go to portcanaveralwebcam.com. The Dream is holding some rescue drills in the port waters. Lowering the life boats and driving them around. Very interesting to see.

Hi David! Thanks for the heads up about watching the dream on the webcam. Unfortunately I can't take a look. I don't dare try to access that site from work and my iPhone doesnt allow me to view it either. :sad1:

DW and I watched the Dream sail away this evening on the Port Canaveral webcam after she got home from work. Sure was fun to watch................goin' to be even more funner when we all are on board sailing away!!!!:cool1::cool1::banana: I hope everyone who wanted to - got to see her sail away. If I'm not mistaken - the Dream is now on a 4 day cruise. That puts her sailing back into port this Saturday, for everyone to watch. Write it on your calendars everybody!!!:thumbsup2

Oh you are very welcome Luckymomoftwo. Sorry you couldn't sneak a peek today at work. But I know what you mean, when I'm at work I don't dare get on the internet, unles it is work related. (But sometimes I still do!!!)

Hi there! The cruise is coming up soooo fast! I'm so excited!

So to catch up:
  • Welcome to anyone I've missed and haven't said hi to....
  • We have a 10:30 port arrival time. Some of our wedding guests have told me they have 11:00. Regardless I plan on showing up early and getting on as early as I can. I will a) have a wedding dress in tow and b) we have to be on board to meet with the wedding coordinator (and legally get married) by around 2-ish.
  • I just turned in the wedding planning guide which is very exciting. I'm working on trying to get Florida to mail us a wedding license application. It helps if we make it legal. :)
  • I've been working on finishing FE gifts.
  • And I totally check the boards and all disney-ness on the work internet (even if I shouldn't). Even though I don't chat all the time, I lurk.

Hey Everyone :flower3:,

Sorry I have been super-duper busy these past few months and have been an absent presence on these boards.

We got checked in for the cruise on the 4th and my boarding time is 11:00. Finally got our flight taken care of and now I just need trip insurance and transfers to port and back and we'll be set to go.

Amazing how time just flies anymore, can't keep track of anything! Seems like yesterday I was thinking of how this cruise would NEVER get here and here it is sneaking up on me

Hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July..only a couple more months now :woohoo:

Super-big shout-out to everyone! Howdy howdy!

I'm anxious and excited! Been working on my FE project pretty diligently the past few days. Lots more to do. Sooooo excited!!!

Is it just me or is the summer flying by?! I've been sooooo busy I feel like I blinked and went from my birthday on June 12th to July 4th!

You know what?!??? I got to thinking...................now I know ya'll are saying to your selves out there..................David thinking - that's got to be a first!!! I must say it don't happen all that much!!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: In one of my earlier reports I mentioned that I thought the Dream was on a 4 day cruise - putting her back into Port Canaveral this Saturday. Well, David you COMPLETELY forgot all about the 5 day cruises the Dream makes. If it is a 5 day cruise that would put her in port Sunday. Sooooooooooooooooooooo, all I can say here gang is check both days. (Sometimes I can be soooooooooo stupid!!!) DW can attest to that!!!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I just got back from the Muny where I watched the stage show "The Little Mermaid". Was wonderful :goodvibes And I am such a sap. I was teary eyed at the end cause they had a wedding between Ariel and Prince Eric. And it made me so excited (plus the aforementioned teary eyed) because my dd gets to have her Disney wedding :bride: on this cruise. :lovestruc

Anyway - this was the St. Louis debut of the stage show (and opening night). If any of you ever get to St. Louis in the summer you need to look up the Muny (muny.org). It is great summer entertainment and they have 1500 free seats for every stage performance. :woohoo: And there is a new show every week for 7 weeks.

Ok good night I am tired.

See everyone soon!!

Becky

hello my dh and I will also be on this cruise (no kids). It's our first of hopefully many. I'll probably be poolside with a nice adult beverage. See ya there.

I made it Becky! lol sorry for getting you in trouble at CC.

Thank you for letting me know tho.

Im Jen and I will be on the 9/15 Dream cruise with my son (16) and my grand daughter who almost 5 years old. Just looking for others who may have a little girl her same age that may want to meet up :-)

Cant wait for the fun! Counting down.

:welcome: to both of you!!!! The more the merrier!

Looks like you're sliding in last minute on the FE list if interested. Send a PM or email to Luckymomoftwo if you want to participate. I think we set the cut-off for 7/15.

stmize, this is our first cruise, too! Isn't it exciting?! :thumbsup2

Hi Jen! I have 15 & 13 yro boys. There's a loooot of teen boys in this group! :thumbsup2

.

Jen - we definitely have to meet after that cc trouble :rotfl:

omg I didn't think they would be so upset over me trying to get you here. Maybe the Disney people are a little more relaxed.

Anyway I will be one of the mothers of a bride. I think there will be possible a maximum of 3 brides on this cruise. I think they only do one per day .

:welcome: aboard!! Please DO tell about the trouble you got Becky into at CC!!!

My DD is 8 but she's VERY small for her age and she gets along better with younger kids. This is partly due to her being held back at daycares because of her petite size. So, her and your DD may get along just fine!

:welcome: aboard to you as well!!! Believe me...once you've sailed on DCL...they've got you hooked. This will be our 8th Disney cruise. We will have our kids with us, so I don't know that we'll be hanging out much by the adult pool. HOWEVER...this is the first leg of our back to back cruise. We will also be on the 4 night sailing of the DVC Member cruise right after this cruise, and the kids will be flying back home with their aunt and grandma so we'll be hanging out in the adult only areas for that cruise! And enjoying MANY adult beverages. :lmao:

Looking forward to meeting everyone in September!! :yay:

I too want to :welcome::welcome::welcome: stmize and hubby and also I want to :welcome::welcome::welcome: FEBR Mom and family to the cruise. Glad ya'll could join us on the Dream. This is going to be one GREAT cruise ya'll!!!

Ok everyone, the Dream is in Port Canaveral this morning.:cool1: Go to portcanaveralwebcam.com They have the best view of her and one of the RCCL ships is in the port too. The Dream by far is the better looking ship!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 And she will sail out this evening around 5:00pm or so. Last week when DW and I watched her sail out it was around 5:15pm before she started leaving the dock. Then she had to set after pulling away from the dock for about 5 minutes or so. DW and I guessed that there was another ship leaving at the same time so the Dream had to wait until the other ship got going.
