Disney Dream Reward Dollars

OK - I just got off the phone with DCL. I called BankOne and they couldn't answer my question.

In the brochure it says "Redeem them for most Disney merchandise, park tickets, hotel nights, food and more at:
Disney store, disneystore.com, disney catalog
Walt Disney World resort, Disneyland resort and Disney Cruise Line

I was just told they CAN'T be used on the ship. So why does it say Disney Cruise Line for these certificates? They can't be used anywhere on the ship or applied to your account. I told her they had better change the wording on that and remove Disney Cruise Line.

I'm guessing that use of the dollars will be more limited than people think. "At WDW" will mean for hotel stays using WD Travel packages. "DCL" will mean booking cruises through DCL itself. Just a guess.

I was told they CAN'T be used for booking a cruise either. So there is absolutely nothing you can use the Disney Dream Reward Dollars for regarding the Disney Cruise Line. I just sent them an e-mail and told them they had better change their information. It even says that on the cruise site
"Earn Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM - good at Disneyland® and Walt Disney World® Resorts - including Theme Parks and Disney Cruise Line®, Disney Store, DisneyStore.com and Disney catalog. ]

Can you redeem for Disney Dollars then use them on the ship?

Can you pm me with the email address? It is clearly written you can use these rewards on DCL -- What are they talking about?

I am waiting my card -- should be here soon. I was planning on paying off the cruise and using the card between now and then. Then, getting the reward $$ to use on the ship.

I take it Disney says this plan won't work?

Will the Disney Dollars work?

Wow, I hope someone can clear this up for us!! I plan on using my card for our upcoming June trip to WDW and paying it right off, then purchasing things here and there, and THEN paying off my cruise for May 2004. I had planned to save and use any Disney Rewards Dollars earned for our Cruise next year. I had thought we'd get the certificates sent to us, and could use them for souvieneers on the ship. That would make good sense to me!!!!!

I was planning on doing the same thing...charging the remainder of my cruise, getting the onboard credits (I have 2 rooms) and also the Disney $$ towards purchases on the ship. If and when I get the card in the mail, I will just turn around and cancel it if I am unable to do any of the above. I also read on another thread that we cannot get the perks if we have already paid the deposit another way. My deposit was long paid for almost 2 years ago! How frustrating and deceiving this card is turning out to be!

I called to redeem my points to use on the cruise and was told that they have been updating the list for redemption and to try back to see if the Disney Cruise Line was added.

I received the card and paid off the balance due for the cruise on March 10th, the bill just arrived and I have 6 mos. interest free to pay the balance off.

The rep. on the phone at Bank One said I could redeem my points now, in ten point ($ 10) increments. But at the time there was no coupons for the DCL, and to try back in the beginning of April.

I used the cruise line e-mail link. I looked around disney.com for about 30 minutes trying to find an e-mail to Disney management and finally gave up. You would think they would have had all their particular information in place before they released the card.

So Mommypoohbear, you paid just the final payment for your cruise with the card, not the deposit, and still got the 6 months interest free?
