Disney Dream pictures!

LOL, I'm always scoping out this to try to visualize what part of the ship they're building:

I could be wrong but I think this model was at the announcement party in New York City late last year....they had a type of preview center for the announcement where there was a model of model of a cabin, a model of the Dream and model of the virtual porthole in the inside cabin, etc. and some other ship areas. It was by invitation only to some repeat guests and travel agents.

I remember somebody who was there posting pics from the event.

Yes, there was a Disney Dream Event in New York last fall. Here are some of my pictures from that.

When people post pictures that are taken from somone else that posted them they really should give them credit or list where they found them. The first 3 photos were posted on facebook by DCL

Not sure I understand.:confused3.....if they were posted on DCL Facebook page they are fair game for anyone to post in another forum and anyone can go view them at the DCL Facebook site.

It is not a requirement to list where pictures came from on these boards.

I was always taught to claim my source for credibility, and with most anything (photographs, articles, books, journals) it is a simple matter of copyright.

I can certainly understand that....but most people here to do not list where a pic came from nor it is required, as far as I know. People don't seem to have a problem with telling their source, when asked and I would hope people would not post copyrighted pics...not sure where to even begin about how to enforce any copyright issues.

I know once in awhile I will see a poster that designed a picture or graphic ask that it not be used.

here is link to many of the pictures.

Question: what is that ship in the foreground? Have they started the FANTASY yet? It will take 18 mo to build so I imagine keep laying wouldn't be too far away.

The ship in front (foreground)is the Dream. The ship immediately behind (farthest to the rear)her is no longer there. That was the Celebrity Eclipse. She was floated out sometime on Feb 28th, their time.
The Fantasy hasnt been started yet, and after I did a search a few weeks ago, came up with this.
The 5th Celebrity ship, the Silouhette, is due in 2011 and the Fantasy in 2012,both from Meyer Werft, and both from the same dock.Meyer Werft only has 2 covered docks, and the 1 that the Dream is in is the bigger of the 2.She wont fit in the other. Most likely the Sillouhette, will be built in the back portion of the drydock, like Eclipse, and the Fantasy will be started at somepoint, after or near the point where all of the Major blocks are assembled on the Silouhette, in front, like the Dream.
Heres a few pics to better explain how MW is building up to 4 ships a year:
This is one of Celebritys ships, in the back half of the drydock. There is a special watertight gate, that segments the dock into 2 differnt sized areas:

This one is how it looked a few weeks ago.The gate is between the bow(front) of the Celebrity ship,(farthest to the rear and painted) and the back portion of the Dream(closest to the crane and not painted yet). Its also the most likely setup for when they start the Fantasy:

This on is a better shot of the gate, and how 1 part of the dock can be flooded, and the rest stay dry:

Has anyone seen or heard about the area, deck 13 forward (above the concierge rooms)? Is this a sundeck entirely for concierge level guests, or only partially? Or is this one of the aspects of the new ship not yet announced.

I'm wondering, because this appears to be the only area to view outward from the front of the ship unless you have a room with that view.

Hard to tell between the deck plan and the model. From the deck plan it looks like an area just for the concierge guest.
Concierge Service
On the Disney Dream, all suite and concierge stateroom guests enjoy the benefit of the ship’s Concierge Level providing special services and exclusive access to dedicated areas.

■The Concierge Lounge is located among the concierge suites on Deck 12. Guests may relax in quiet comfort, sip a cocktail, access the internet, watch news on a large screen TV and enjoy complimentary food and beverage presentations offered throughout the day. From the lounge, concierge guests have private access to Senses Spa & Salon.
■The concierge team will provide guests with personalized service and assist with a variety of shipboard requests such as making reservations for spa treatments, Palo dining, shore excursions and nursery care for children.
One deck up on the private sun deck, concierge guests can soak up the sun in an exclusive area. This private oasis offers tranquil breezes, misters to keep cool, comfortable, cushioned lounge chairs and refreshments.

By the looks of the deck plan: http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/cruise/photos/DisneyDreamDeckPlan.jpg , it's just a section in the center that's exclusive to Concierge.

You can see it somewhat sectioned off a little better in a photo of the model on Deb's site -- 5th & 6th photo down: http://land.allears.net/blogs/debwills/2009/11/disney_dream_suites_pools_shop.html So people can be in the foreward area, just not THAT part. I don't envy the poor CM who has to stand guard though.

But, as always, pure speculation. :thumbsup2

Thanks for your opinions. After additional thought, that overall space is pretty large, and the ratio of concierge guests versus non-concierge is relatively small, and would seem to offer far more space than needed to accomodate concierge guests. Based on my thoroughly uneducated opinion, the Deb Wills photo looks more logical, and kind of looks like the concierge sundeck my be accessed from inside the concierge area immediately underneath the elevated deck.

So, I hope the picture of the model that Deb Wills took is more accurate than the other picture. Being non-concierge, I'd be kind of bummed not being able to go to the front of the ship and enjoy the view and the wind.
