Disney Dream - October 9, 2011 - 4 Nights

OK, BIG favor/question.... I am SOO kicking myself. :headache: I had a "list" of souvenirs I meant to get onboard, one of the main ones being one of the inagural Christmas ornaments. I saw them the first day, and meant to go back (family members were a tad seasick, so had to cut my shopping short that first morning), and totally forgot. By any chance did anyone get an extra you'd be willing to sell? Or is anyone going back soon that would be willing to pick one up for me? :)

Okay fellow October 9th Dis Cruisers...who is writing a trip report? You have to admit, we had an interesting start, but wow, what a great trip it turned out to be!!

Also, I must say, to all of you that contributed to the FE, THANKS!!! We have been looking at a different item each day since the trip and it has been a great way to continue the cruise. You all are the best.

Dave

@tylerandalexsmom - going back on a b2b Dec 8 & 11 if you want me to pick one up for you. Just describe it. Bought an inaugural coffee mug and thought about the christmas ornaments. Maybe I'll have to get me one too! :santa:

Thanks! (Wish I was going back!!!!) I may have someone picking one up for me in November (not on our October cruise), but it's good to know you'll be going back -- that way if this falls through, I can take you up on it!!!!! (So kicking myself! I didn't realize it until I got to thinking about cruising on the Fantasy next year and getting an inagural ornament on there too!) :worship: Thanks so much! I will let you know if the November one works out!

Is this the mug you are talking about?

I'm kicking myself for not picking this item up!

hey Tim... great video of the storm!

(just so you know... all three videos are the same of the storm, though)

You don't know how bad I wish I was still on that ship!

Here is one more video of the storm. It was taken from the restaurant Fish Lips in Port Canaveral the day before we all boarded the Dis Dream. The ship is the Carnival Dream, and there were at least three tugs taking her out.

Those are great videos, I especially like your AquaDuck filming. What type of camera did you use, it is very clear.

Has everybody checked out the You Tube videos from the Freedom of the Seas titled "When Cruise Ships Attack"? Check out the first video, then watch them all in order. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z5Ob5JiJbk

I’m real glad we stayed in port too.

The camera is a Kodak play sport. HD waterproof digital cam. Its very small and does do a nice job. Has hdmi connection also. The price isn't bad either.
Thanks for the link, looking forward to checking it out

another camera question Tim... does it take decent pics outside of water too?

thinking :santa::santa::santa: ho ho ho :santa::santa::santa:

Yes, it does great out of water. Here is an indoor vid from Raglan road:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntvtOvX3pmM&feature=feedu

It records in 1080p HD, and can connect directly to your tv via HDMI. You can also directly burn it as a blue ray dvd.
My only complaint is that it does not have a flash, so not great in low light.
When in tourist mode, I keep my good Cannon EOS for stills, and the play sport on my belt for video (although the play sport also takes good stills in HD).

I bought the same camera for my son last year for Christmas. He also took it on our 3/31 Dream cruise. Excellent little video camera, especially for the price!

Hello! I haven't been able to find much info on room 7562 on the Dream. I assume the room has a bunk? Could you confirm? Noisy location? Could you feel a lot of movement at night? Pro's and con's of this room? Any info will help :) Pictures?
