Disney Dream - October 9, 2011 - 4 Nights

Welcome :goodvibes

I looked my reservation online and it said I can start booking onboard fun and Port Adventures on July 11, 2011. Not sure if it took into account that I'm a silver CC member?

But you could find the info easily by looking online on DCL website. On the "Get reservation" tab, enter your ressie number and you account will pop up with the your info including the dates for booking, filling document, etc.

That must be taking into consideration your Castaway Club level. This is our first cruise, and our date for the 75 days out is July 26th. Anyone out there Platinum? I think they get to start booking in 4 days!

Ohhhhh, a challenge:upsidedow? We'll get to work right away on some ideas. As in "we'll" I mean my DW, I'll just oversee things.:thumbsup2

So did you "supervise" and come up with any ideas? Then we can all put them in our signatures too!

Was a "name" for our group ever decided on? Do people still use lime green for DISers?! (I remember when I first started looking around on here, everyone was talking about lime green mickey heads.....)

Ok, has anyone besides me been REALLY getting the cruise fever of late?!?! I think I spent more time daydreaming and surfing the DIS boards :surfweb: today than I did working! :rolleyes1

after this cruise:cool1: but Gold and we can book on June 26.

:thumbsup2
Great idea Andie.
I have been trying to come up with something for our family to have on our shirts but nothing inspires me yet. A logo for our cruise may be just the thing we need.

By the way, I have been thinking also about all the things I need to do and all the events coming up prior to the cruise and I have decided I do not have the time I would need to devote to "good" FE gifts. Please remove us from the FE exchange. Maybe next time.

I am training to walk the Nashville Women's Half Marathon. Anyone want to join me? I will be walking not running.:rolleyes1

Rochelle

When is this ... i have a girl i work with that does 5ks and stuff....not sure if she would be interested in this or not!

In regards to the name/theme for our cruise, I try to commemorate a trip by representing a commonality or an experienced shared. So I think someone had mentioned Columbus Day Cruisers, which I liked. It's a bit alliterative which makes it catchy and memorable for the holiday. However, I also think it was pointed out there were some friends from the North with us and in Canada the 10th is Thanksgiving. I have yet to come up with something good that combines the two, anyone? (??Columbus' Thanksgiving DREAM Cruise?? [if Disney was invented yet:laughing:])

If we want to get away from the Holidays, then maybe we can make something out of what the majority, if not all, would participate in. So if a bunch of us want to meet up and storm the AquaDuck as a DIS group activity one day (how long does it take DISers to shoot through a duck ;)) then there's some Duck themes we could in corporate. Suggestions:
Quacking Up the DREAM
Quacking Up On the DREAM
DISers Quacked the Duck
Quack the Duck Cruisers (kinda a 'wag the dog' take)

Or if a majority like the Pirates movies/Pirate Night, and being close the Caribbean, there are:
Cruising the Stranger Tides
DREAMing on/in/across Stranger Tides (pick your preposition)
The Rum Filled DREAM Cruise (antithesis of "why's the rum gone?" since this is a good DREAM isn't it? :cool2:)
Captain Donald's Swabbies

And my staunch hope that we don't have to use this one: Yes, We Have No Cabanas
If not a single one of us snags a cabana on Castaway :)

Hopefully that will stimulate something and my lonely brain cell will not have slaved in vain :)

wow you came up with a lot :goodvibes

All I could come up with "Living the Dream"

BTW We may be from Canada but we celebrate Thanksgiving during "the real one" in Nov :rotfl:

I like your suggestions, and maybe tie it in Halloween (being October) more than the other holidays. And that could tie in with the "logo" I was suggesting -- like the DCL logo but with the mickey head being mickey head shaped pumpkins (like they do at Epcot for Halloween)? Or I like your Pirates in the Caribbean suggestions (and Living the Dream) as well.... pirate:

Someone more creative than me will have to take over!

When is this ... i have a girl i work with that does 5ks and stuff....not sure if she would be interested in this or not!

The Women's Half Marathon is September 24. I did it last year and it was great. The hill at mile 12 is killer but I am willing to give it another go. Registration is at womenshalfmarathon.com. There is also a 5K that day.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for doing this (updating/keeping up with all the changes)!! 121 days from today until we sail!

I felt the need to post:

Four months from TODAY!!!!!!!!

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Can you believe it?! When we first booked, tehre were over 500 days until cruise time! Now it's right around the corner--time to get busy and finish all the preparations!

I called today and put some $$ onto my onboard account. I love having all of my spending money already there when I board. It feels like 'free' money that way. :thumbsup2

I can try to collect all suggestions for the Cruise Name/Theme here so people can review and chime in or vote. I'll update this post with edits for a while as we add/subtract suggestions.

I think a couple people looked into the wristband idea. What's the cutoff to decide the name for ordering purposes? And, what's the maximum characters?

At the moment this is just in the order the suggestions were received.
  • Columbus Day Cruisers
  • Dreamin' on the Dream
  • Livin' it up in Paradise
  • Columbus' Thanksgiving DREAM Cruise
  • Quacking Up the DREAM
  • Quacking Up On the DREAM
  • DISers Quacked the Duck
  • Quack the Duck Cruisers
  • Cruising the Stranger Tides
  • DREAMing on/in/across Stranger Tides (pick your preposition)
  • The Rum Filled DREAM Cruise
  • Captain Donald's Swabbies
  • Living the Dream

:goodvibes I can't imagine keeping it a secret from my kids! :scared1: I have a hard enough time keeping to myself what I buy them for birthdays/Christmas! :lmao:

Before you know it, it's all going to be over with, but you know what that means? Time to plan another cruise!!

As far as names, I like Capt. Donald's Swabbies and Quackin' Up on the Dream.

Sorry if this has already been talked about, but I was hoping someone might be able to give me a quick answer. (I thought I had subscribed with instant emails, but I just realized - months later - that I had not heard from this group in some time! Three kids takes up a bit more time, I guess).

I notice that we have 35 kids and 50+ adults signed up for FE. Are we going to be breaking this group up into smaller groups?

Again, I apologize if this has been talked about already.

Thanks, in advance, for your help!
Amy:goodvibes
