Disney Dream October 6, 2013

We will be in DL a week from tomorrow!!!

Just wanted to say we are now officially on this cruise as the 9/29 cruise has been changed to a DVC cruise. I don't know how many of you I will be able to meet, as I am cruising for a friends wedding, but hello all.

Hi ALAN,
We just booked this cruise, we swiched our 9/15 cruise to "almost " a 9/29 DVC members cruise to this cruise........Alan....... dw-Kathy loves going to wedding, where is it going to be at....CC ?

Wow... it's been and long difficult few weeks with a family emergency... but we're back now.

Time for some good news....
Only 45 more Fridays to go! (I think I have the number right... LOL)

:cool1:

Hi Tn-GIRL,
....Where you not counting the Fridays till we sail back in Sept 09 & 2010 also? I believe you cruised with Kath and me than. :lmao:

They are getting married on the ship on Nassau day. They will be holding it in a private venue on the ship. Sorry not on CC. It's cheaper to do it on the ship, also since they met on the Disney Magic (the Magic will be in Drydock so not a option) they want to get married on the ship.

Hello everyone,

Well, we just got back from our big Disneyland vacation (a surprise for our little guy). The Grand Californian was so wonderful and we had such a terrific time that we immediately booked a few nights at a Savannah view room at Animal Kingdom lodge following the cruise next October. We have never been to Animal Kingdom before, and thought a day or two there before heading home will be a nice conclusion to our trip.

If anyone wants to read our trip review from Disneyland btw, it is in Disneyland Trip Reports. Now to turn our attention to next year's cruise and planning another terrific family vacation and our second voyage on the Dream! Can't wait!

Mike you had a good time at our parks here. We too are staying at AKL following this cruise for 6 nights in a studio standard view at Jambo House. You will like AKL. It's really nice. It's our home resort. Which building did you book?

Kidani House, studio, Savannah view. It'll be our first time. We're not DVC owners, just renting points again. (Guess we're posers) ;-)

I love the pool area there but have not stayed over there yet for one reason. There is no quick device food. After a day in the parks I like to come back maybe grab a flatbread or something and use my refillable mug. Can't do that over at Kadani. Still I love the pool area over there, way better than at Jambo and it's lovely looking.

We'll only be there for a few days, so hopefully it'll be ok. If it's anything like it was last week at Disneyland we will be at the parks from opening until closing! Just hope we can see most of Animal Kingdom in a single day.

We plan on getting off of the ship and taking Disney transportation to Animal Kingdom lodge, then spend the remainder of the day enjoying the resort. Friday (all day) at the park, and then Saturday heading for home.

We too are taking DCL transfers to AKL. Maybe we will be on the same bus.

That would be a coincidence!! I had been communicating with a woman on DisBoards in preparation for our Disneyland trip and ended up in line with her at Cars Land! Never met before, but ended up chatting together in the middle of a group of thousands. Small world!

Hi BensDaddy,
And also, we use the word Daddy in our users name...I am the Hoosier Daddy.
And we live in Indiana.....and have a daughter that lives less than, say 20-25miles from your home town there in AR.........Sing it to me BEN..........It's a small world after all , it's a small-small world. :lmao:  :lmao:.....and we are cruisin' with you guys.

WE could very-well fix that "posers" statous.......have two fifty pointers on the market now till the end of this month.

Absolutely you can!

Animal Kingdom can easily be done in one day.

This will be our first DCL experience and we are so excited! It will be myself, DH, DS (11), DS (8), my DSIL and her boyfriend. Can someone explain the fish extender game?
Thanks!

There are metal "fish" by each door. A lot of people make stockings or holders called extenders and then get a big group of people online to basically put treats into each of the stockings on the list. (Shrug) Held no appeal to my family and I on our last cruise, but we saw quite a few people doing it.

I think on the Dream there are other marine creatures besides fish on the door, but it to holds zero interest for us as well. Just that much more I have to take with me.

Speaking of things you have to bring with you on the ship, I don't know if you folks are aware, but you can FedEx things to the ship that will be delivered to your stateroom on the first afternoon. We spent a few days at Universal (Harry Potter) before our first Dream cruise, so instead of packing for the whole time, we shipped a lot of clothes, pull-ups (etc) to the room so we didn't have to pack as much. Worked beautifully!
