Disney Dream March 31, 2011

We thought it was only right to do our due diligence and make sure the ship was "just right" before they came.... :rotfl2: We are looking forward to checking out the adult areas...I am looking forward to riding that aqua duck though!!! :woohoo:

This is the same exact reason my sister are I are going... She has 3 kids and I have 4 but we want to "check it out" for them of course:cool1:

Ok question...For those of you doing B2B, do you do the same FE gifts for both? Trying to figure out what to do. Thinking of maybe not putting the same thing in twice for people also doing the B2B, but just putting in a little something different. Hmm, not sure what to do. Ideas?

Gunghomom,
for our b2b cruisers, my FE gifts are the same thing, but with different designs, if that makes sense, for the different cruises. It was just easier for me to stick with what I was doing than to have to think of something different for everyone. So I paid attention to who was getting what on the first cruise, and I tried to not repeat anything for the b2b people. So hopefully, you will like what you get, and you will get a little variety too!! So looking forward to both cruises!! Have a great week!

Hello everyone!

Looking forward to our first cruise and first Disney cruise on the 31st. My husband, me and our 2 kids (boy-11 and girl-5).

We live in central Florida, so we make it to WDW a lot. I'm so excited!! See you all in a few weeks :)

Just read a really positive review of a 3 night Dream cruise (they just got back a few days ago). I had not been reading too many trip reports, so am not aware if there have some negative ones, but this one should put our minds at ease.

An interesting idea that was mentioned was that we can somehow link our reservations with other folks' so that we're paired together at dinners. This might be a nice way to get to know each other better, and also to provide the "meet" that some have been asking about. Obviously we can't all be at the same table. ;-) But I'm guessing that 2 or 3 of our family groups might be able to be "linked up."

If anyone else is interested, I can tell you that it'll be me (40 year old male from Philly, but originally from a little midwestern town), my wife (39 years old (don't tell her I told you her age!), originally and currently from Philly), and our 8 year old daughter. We're pretty harmless and normal, I think. If you're interested in seeing if we can be paired together at dinners, let me know, and I'd be happy to look into it (a.k.a.: call Disney). If no one is interested, I won't take it personally, so don't worry about it. :-)

Oh, and here's the link to the trip report:

By the way, I also think a full blown "meet and greet" of all of us from this thread would be cool, too. Does anyone (previous Disney cruisers, perhaps) have suggestions for a time and/or place? I realize this will be everyone's first time on the Dream (except for you luck "Double Dippers"), so perhaps no one will have any suggestions.

Hello All!

We just returned from our 1st Disney cruise and LOVED it so much we had to book another! We will be joining you all on the 3/31/11 sailing.

I can't wait (and neither can the rest of the family- even my completely against cruising hubbie loved it).:cloud9::cloud9:
We are a family of 4 with a son (11 at time of cruise) and daughter (7 at time of cruise). We were on the DIS Boards for our recent sailing and met some of the other families that way. Hope to meet you all too! :wizard::wizard:

Hello! We also have an 11 year old son & this is our first cruise. We are hoping Trei will not get too bored but I would like to get your opinion of things for him to do. We will also be entertaining our 5 yr old daughter & their tastes vary in things they like to do.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully we'll get a chance to say 'Hi' in person in 2 weeks.

Nicky

Just popping in to say Hi to everyone, and to say my DD17 is getting a little anxious that there arent going to be any teenagers her age sailing with us. She is bringing her BFF also 17, but it would sure be nice for them to meet some more teens their age. I know they will have great time regardless, especially since they are getting to do the Dolphin Swim in Nassau, which was a selling point for them on our cruise. I can't believe we leave for Florida in only 6 more days Happy Sailing everyone, See you all in 15 days :dance3:

Welcome! I have an 11 year old daughter and a (as of next Sunday) 5 year old daughter. We are celebrating her birthday on the cruise because everyone deserves to have weeks of birthday celebrations for such a big milestone. I bet she'd be happy to meet with your little girl.

Douglas - we are already linked to the two other families traveling with us, otherwise we'd take you up on that offer. I think that's a great idea to be able to sit with someone you kind of know.

Hi there,

I have a 5-year-old DD too, who would love to be social with some other girls her age. And I have a 10-year-old, who is turning 11 the week after the cruise ends. Oh yeah, and one who is turning 8 this weekend! They are all excited to meet some new friends aboard the ship.

I'm not sure if you all remember, but I mentioned my DH might not be going because his brother broke his leg and someone will need to be here to run the farm. DH has kept saying he was going up until today. He told me to see if I can find a replacement for him. I am so crushed. :sad2: I know we will still have a wonderful time, but it won't be the same without DH. I know he is bummed too. We are waiting to see if my older DD can go. She has just started TWO new jobs and doesn't think she will be able to get the time off. My mom said she may be able to go...and I would be happy with either, but I really hope something happens and my DH changes his mind and comes along. If we cancel at this point though, we will lose it all. We have Travel insurance, but I don't think it covers him staying home for his job. I haven't looked into to it too much, but I know last trip we bought extra insurance for that reason, and this time I didn't, of course.
This has been a really rough year and a half, and we ALL deserve to go on this trip. We even postponed it from Dec so that HE could go on it. I guess fate is just not on our side right now.

Sounds great! We live in central Florida so our 5 year old was able to celebrate her birthday at WDW and I am sure Jazlyn would love to make some new friends.

So I have been reading through the thread a little, but 20 pages  is a lot to go through. What is the best way to know who each other is once we get to the port/on the cruise? Please keep in mind, this is our first cruise of any kind (which is kinda sad since we only live less than 20 miles from the port :sad2:) so we have a lot to learn.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation! I really hope it works out and that he will be able to go with you...

Aww jenseib, I'd really been hoping things would work out and he could go. I hope he still can. Here's hoping things turn around, or at the very least your daughter or mother can go along! Either way, wishing you a wonderful trip!

I'm sorry it doesn't look like things will work out. I hope that you can find someone to take his place, but prefer that he can still go. I guess your mom can't take over the farm? ;)

My little one is very excted to make new friends.

We are in Florida too! If we don't go to Disney every few weeks, my kids get withdrawals. Well, I do too.

We all keep talking about doing a DIS meet, but haven't set a time or place. I don't know this ship as well as the others, so I'm not sure where to suggest a meet. On the others, we have met around 3 in the lounge on Deck 3 in between the restaurants. Anyone know what the equivalent lounge would be on the Dream?

Is that the D lounge?

Jen, I was thinking about you and hoping it would work out. I am sorry. That must be really disappointing. I will keep my fingers crossed that it all works out for you.

I think my mom is going to go. It will be different, but it still will be fun. DH says I should take my dad, but I don't think my mom wil llet him because she wants to go. :lmao:
