My husband and I did a horse and carriage ride in Nassau - I wouldn't reccomend it. The horse was malnourished and we were taken into seedy parts of town (thought we were going to get mugged).

Oh my, that doesn't sound like a good experience!

A FE is a "Fish Extender". Do you recall the fish or turtle that is outside your door on the cruise that they put your papers and navigator on? People create something to hang on it that has pockets and you exchange little gifts, knick knacks, candy etc. with other DIS people that will be on your cruise. It is especially fun for the kids to come back to the room and find "surprises" in their pockets. You can search these forums for lots of information and pictures of them and what people put in them. I've got a list going with names of people who want to participate, their room numbers, etc. Happy Sailing

On our last Disney cruise, my son thought it was so fun to come back to the room and find a little surprise. And he had just as much fun making the deliveries!

Our cruise is getting closer!! I'm starting to look at clothes for the trip. Anyone know what day is pirate night?

Any ideas what to wear that night that would be fun?

Pirate night is day two. We are wearing our pirate hats and maybe pirate shirts that we have from halloween.

Can everyone give me some ideas on how they made their FEs? I'm seeing a lot of ideas online, but since time is now short, we are looking for something to make this weekend.

OK, Fair warning, this girl tends to go "overboard" on things like stockings, baskets and NOW FE's! I was not trying to make anyone uncomfortable asking for personal information, but if anyone wants to share any Disney/preference information, I'd be glad to have it For instance, I am looking to do some personalized items and would love to know the kids (or mom,dad, grandmas') favorite characters or colors...maybe a shirt size? What is their favorite pastime (dancer, soccer, golf). Also, if there is something your child is allergic to-I'd rather not injure anyone on vacation. Are all the adults open to adult beverages? I'm having to hold back on the poor kid who turns 21...I'm trying NOT to scar him permanently.

Hi everyone,
We are also on the Mar 14th cruise... Looking forward to it. It s our first cruise and its a surprise for the kids ( 6,6,9 )... we are also bringing grandparents along.

I am interested in the FE, although, I am not sure I really understand what it entails...but it sounds like something the kids might enjoy...maybe something I can get the grandparents to help pull together ahead of time.

can someone tell me what you do and what kinds of things you drop off/receive.

thanks, sorry to be so dense, but I get the general idea, but wanted to get a sense of what preparation and time would be needed to do it....its a short cruise.

I'm late to sign up for FE so I really hope it's not too late to join in the fun. DH and I debated at length because the friends we are travelling with won't be participating so I felt a little guilty about doing it. Long story short, I finally decided that it's a big part of the fun of a Disney cruise for me so I'm going to jump in with two feet (if it's too late - I'm totally OK with it, I know I waited rather long).

I've got all kinds of ideas and am trying to get my "non-crafty" creative juices flowing. All the extra personal info will really help as I'm thinking of making personalized things. I'm thinking of making my FE out of zippered pocket folders (the nylon ones). I'm cannot sew so have to come up with other ideas LOL. What is everyone else doing for your FE?

Hi everyone,
FE has been closed. We have alot of folks that are getting to Disney earlier than the cruise departure date, so that is why we need to set this cut-off, and get our count finalized.

I gotta get to work on pulling together my FE gifts...iI'm super excited.

Also, last night I came up with the brilliant idea of getting 10 day non expiring tickets and going to MK on the Wednesday before the cruise. After some calculations, it sounds like the non expiring tickets will actually make some financial sense! I couldn't stomach paying $90 for one day tix....but about $42 per day (after my complicated calculations) would definitely be bearable.

So excited to go to a park!! Plus we haven't seen the new Fantasyland Expansion

So excited here, in just under 2 weeks we will be at WDW spending time at the parks, then off for a cruise with all of you followed be 2 more disney days! My DD9 has a countdown on the wall, it's getting so close! I need to start my packing list...

I packed 2 suitcases of clothes for the boys and I this afternoon . I just need to get our snorkelling stuff and shoes together, and the dress clothes into the garment bag. Add a few snacks and toys, we are ready to go!
