Disney Dream - March 14-17, 2013

My husband, daughter (3), and mother are all cruising on Disney for the first time! We are on deck 6 with two rooms. I would love to join the FE (is that fish extender?) Newbie here! Really want to make this a magical trip for my mom and daughter!!

Let me know what info I need to give!

Thanks!

Cheri (63) I know it's not my child but my mom would LOVE it to be included!! Is that okay?
Kaylin (3)

Absolutely!! We'd love to have everyone. (I'm a mom and a grandmother on this trip!)

Just booked today! We're leaving the kids at home. They went on the Fantasy with us last summer. This will be the second leg of a back to back! So excited!

Our family is booked on this one...first cruise ever for all 4 of us. Doing 5 days at WDW prior to the cruise. Looking forward to it.

Has anyone been to Nassau before? Have been looking over the shore excursions and wondering if we should just stay on the ship or do something. Also, if you step off the ship is there anything to see right there or do you need to take a taxi into town?

I have, we are doing Atlantis, we did it last time too! Love it! I need to get you my information for the FE list, where do I send it?

We have been twice before, our last visit was earlier this month. There are lots of things to do, it all depends on what you're interested in doing and how much you want to spend. We have done the dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon, which was amazing, and the beach is great too. Last visit we did a walking tour and checked out Queen's staircase, Fort Fincastle and the pirate museum. We haven't been to Atlantis but that's mainly because our boys are still too young to fully enjoy the resort.
I do admit that we will be staying on the ship while in Nassau on this cruise since we were just there, but if you've never been then you should definitely get off and explore for a little while!
ETA there are shops and a beach near the ship, but if you're up for a little walking you can see some of the island's history. There are maps through Trip Advisor that you can download with free walking tours and advice on how to get to Atlantis in your own. Nassau is definitely a place you don't have to do a ship excursion, although some companies have exclusivity contracts with the cruiselines preventing you from booking directly.

I'll have to look into Trip Advisor. I wouldn't mind going over to Atlantis on our own and look around. Maybe even a trip to a beach. Thanks for the info!

Hi!
I'm Jill. My husband Steven and I are taking our two kids, Jeffrey (3) and Samuel (7) on their first cruise. It will be our first disney cruise. We are getting really excited.

Can you add my kids to the fe list??? And let me know what I should do next.
:banana:h

My friends are taking their kids to Atlantis. They are not doing the waterpark as they don't feel their kids are old enough. They've done it before and they feel it's worth it just to walk the grounds.

I was originally planning on a quick 2 hr walking tour but now am just going to stay on the ship. I figure I'm likely to get back to Nassau at some point but not sure if I will be back on a Disney ship...and the cruise is already way too short.

I was tempted by Atlantis but really, the Disney waterparks are just as nice or better...and cheaper when bundling it into a WDW trip like we did last time. We spent 4 days there in one trip...it was amazing!

I'm curious...is anyone here into dancing in the nightclubs? I love to dance...but on my last cruise both my DH and the friend I cruise with kept falling asleep on me every night. Would love to arrange some DISer dance parties if anyone is into it.

Hey there! Just wanted to pop in and say hi! We will be joining you guys on the Dream in March! We're on Deck 8. There seem to be quite a few of us from the Katy, TX area? :) This is our second cruise on the Dream and we CANNOT WAIT!!
We'll be hitting up the parks earlier in the week, so we'll pass on the FE's this time....but wanted to say hi!

My group is coming from both Katy and Needville. We are also going to the the parks beginning Saturday the 9th. Which also happens to be my son's 12th birthday. Pretty nice birthday present, huh :) I'm hoping the weather might be nice enough to spend one of our days at the water park. I heard only Typhoon Lagoon will be open at the time.

Elaine - Don't know about the actual dancing but I can handle the "party" part of it, lol.

FE cut-off is Feb 22 since many of us are heading to Disneyworld several days before our cruise.

Our cruise is getting closer!! I'm starting to look at clothes for the trip. Anyone know what day is pirate night?

Any ideas what to wear that night that would be fun?
