Wow, this was down to the wire! I think I'm going to have to go back to the store and buy more stuff to do FE'S!!! I am making one gift for each family and I bought special treats for all of the kids. And. those with food allergies get a special treat as well!!! ARRGGGG...

Hi, my family and I are going to sail on the Disney Dream (departing on June 9). I fear after reading all of your posts that I have "missed the boat" in chatting with all of you as well as participating in all of the fun. My husband and I are traveling with my parents, two sons (ages 7 and 3), and my sister and her husband. We are celebrating my parents 65th birthdays and our love of all things Disney. Welcome aboard. While you are a little too late for fish extenders, we are still in talks about having a. Meet up on board on our sail away day. We have lots of folks that are more then happy to share their experiences and answer questions. Nice to see a couple more boys...I think we have a majority of girls on this cruise! We have several birthdays, anniversaries and even honeymoon in our group...we are all about celebrating! Many of us are also hitting WDW either before or after cruise. (was just reading the latest on Star Wars celebrates!) Glad to have you join us!

Since I'm a newbie, I need some guidance....We have 20 families. Do you typically do a sweet treat everyday to all the kids? A big gift the first day to each family? Little gifts everyday to the families. I know Runnermom did 20 family gifts. I'm game for anything!!

I'm new as well, but from what I researched, it is what you feel comfortable with. Every family is different. Some make a gift for each stateroom, some make gifts for each person, some make gifts for the adults and one for the kids.

Also some people make gifts for everyday, some make gifts for special days (sail away party/pirate day), some make a gift just for one day.

I have seen many iterations. It's probably best to determine a budget you are comfortable with and then see what kind of things you have in mind. Pintrest, craft boards, etc are all good places to look for ideas.

Some folks do one item that is more special or pricey (last cruise we got a nice customized backpack) Others do a couple of smaller items. Also saw had two cabins get together and did a larger gift.

For this cruise, we hand made 2-3 smaller crafty items and I purchased one customized item. I did different crafts that everyone in family could help with (DH, DS's). They are currently packaged as one, but who knows, we may spread out deliveries depending on what we are doing on board. Just have fun!

We are doing one gift for each cabin, special pirate chests filled w/ trinkets for the kids w/ food allergies ( they miss out on so much of the yummy desserts onboard, I thought that I'd do something special for them), and a little something for all of the kids. My goal is to finish them this weekend!

Well, well, well...
I've been away from the board for a while and WOW, there are a lot of people in our FE group. I'm excited about the exchange, however, I'm on to new ideas as to what to make and save space in my suitcase for things that we really need like clothes and such. I'm sure I will figure it out.

In other news, my fantastic mother is working on our extender. She gave me a sneak peak tonight and it's going to be great! I'm so glad that she has the time and energy to sew it for me. I'll post a picture when it's all done.

And lastly, I guess I will need the spreadsheet for our group. I need to get my act together and take this seriously. I was waiting for the final count to buy any supplies...but now the clock is ticking.

Feeling overwhelmed here in the STL...ready for the beach and that drink that someone mentioned earlier...
