i'm not worried about not being in the Podcast group, I don't know anything about it - so i guess i don't know what i'm missing! Wondered what cruisers with prior Castaway Cay experience thought about the private cabanas. They sound great, but i don't know if i could justify the price(?) Thoughts... Also,have been reading up on the earlier posts and I gotta ask "What's an FE?"

An FE is a Fish Extender. This is a wall hanging that has a hook at the top and pockets that can be hung from the Fish(to extend it) that is located near the cabin doors. Members of the DIS get together and join a FE group to exchange small items that go in the pockets of the FE.

I am actually going to get one both days - I am not really a "hot weather" fan, so I'm hoping that the ability to get out of the sun and read a book under a fan will be great while enjoying the beach. The cost is horrible, but I have a good OBC, and I don't drink, so I decided to spend my OBC on the cabanas.

We did the FE on our last cruise and loved it. But if you are staying on the
11th or 12th deck, I'm not sure you can do the FE since those rooms are gated and you cannot get to them all the time. Last I read it was complicated at best to get an FE items to those rooms.

chknlady: It's nice to see another DISer that is not with the podcast part of the cruise. I'm not either and I was a little worried for some reason. Guess I thought I would not have as much fun. Then I smartened up, I'm going to be on a Disney Cruise of course I'm going to have fun!

We're going as a family group - booking 3 cabins. Only 1 of the cabins is in the Podcast Cruise Group, and it's for the same reason - couldn't transfer the other 2 bookings to Dreams Unlimited without losing our discounts. I'm sure you'll have just as much fun without being involved with the Podcast group!
Can't wait to meet everyone!

Same here - I would have lost a good OBC so did not also...

but - I figure while the Podcast part is doing their thing, the line will be shorter for the Aquaduck

Amazing how much more the cabins cost now! Glad I jumped on the reservations early. What rooms are you in?

I have noticed as well how much the prices have jumped up!! My son now decided he wants to go with us, but they are at capacity for our category to have 4 in it, and we have 3 now, so we have to jump up about 1400 in price to add him and a new cabin price. so for now, its just the 3 of us.

Oh my gosh! Are you going through DCL direct or using a travel agent? If you are not using a travel agent, this might be a good time to use one - they can keep an active look out for when an opening might happens, and quickly add him for you.

Starwood and I were just talking yeterday about her booking the old key west the Tuesday before the cruise - perhaps this might mean a mini meet at Dole Whips sometime before the cruise???

We booked one night at Bay Lake Tower the day before the cruise so far. We may or may not book 1 or 2 nights afterwards, still deciding on that.
