Don't forget to vote today!:goodvibes

Done! Actually a few days ago--absentee. Hopefully that is the last time we have to do that.

How is everyone? Getting excited as we are here at our house. We still have so much to get through before going on this cruise that it is hard to imagine that it will ever happen, but we're excited nonetheless. We are headed home to Louisiana for Christmas (via Gatlinburg, TN for a few days of skiing), but I wish we were headed to MMVCP...:santa:

We've had a bit of excitement here too. My doggie, Moose, seems to have reacted terribly to his flea/tick meds. We recently switched to Advantix and we soooo regret it. His hind end seems to be paralyzed after laying down for a long while. The doc seems to think he will get better, it just has to leave his system (we have to bathe him 2x/week)...

....and I also took my son, Alex, to the doc on Friday. He is very fair skinned and has moles on his body. Well, one looks a little suspicious, so he referred us to a dermatologist. They were booked here on base, so I will take him out in town as soon as the referral goes through.

I am helping to plan my daughter, Emily's Sr trip (chaperoned, and fundraised) to Orlando/Cocoa Beach. Anybody have any ideas for us? She and I are part of the "activities" committee. I think they will want to do Universal in Orlando, rather than Disney. Suits me fine since we'll be going there on our family trip just a week or two later.;) So, 3 days in Orlando and 3 days in Cocoa Beach. They are trying to do a fishing trip for the boys at Cocoa Beach while the girls go for a spa day. Then they want just a beach/sleep in day, too. so Cocoa should be pretty easy. Orlando will be tricky though. I thought of Universal and Wet N Wild, and Seaworld.

Sorry for the rambling, but I haven't been on here but just a couple of times and I really want to get back into it so as to get to know y'all a little better.:)

Great to hear from you Paige. Sounds like you will be busy for a while. Enjoy your time in Louisiana for Christmas. I can't believe it's almost Christmas. I haven't even thought about what I will buy for everyone. Guess I better get busy thinking. But all I can think about is the cruise! I'm obsessed!!

Wow! Lots of hugs and pixiedust: for Alex and Moose!
Hopefully Alex has nothing really, isn't he too young for it anyway?
Let's hope!

As for Moose.... I never heard of that happening with Advantage, I thought that was a reputable brand! But I had 2 cats that had severe reactions to the lower quality Hartz flea spot on treatments!
They both had to go to the emergency vet and be put on IV's to flush out their bodies. They got glassy eyed and wobbly like they were drunk and spaszing out like crazy!
I wrote a letter to Hartz about their products after hearing of others (there was actually a thread a long time ago on the DIS!) having the same problem.
But they never even responded to my complaint:mad::headache:

Hope Moose recovers ok.:wizard:

As for Emily's trip:

There was a cute contest about a year ago where they picked a couple to stay and play and blog, twitter, FB.... whatever about Orlando.... all expenses paid!
This couple that won, they did lots of other cool stuff besides Disney and Universal.

Here's their site....

Check it out for some really cool ideas!

Just found out that we have the 5:00 show and the 2nd dinner seating. I don't know how I feel about that??? I guess I'm ok but i'm not sure.

bigben, we have the same schedule. I am not too pleased with it, but we will make due! I figure we won't dress for dinner until after the show...othewise the day stops between 330 and 4 to get 4 people showered, dressed and to the theater by 5. Say the show lasts until 6, then we'll still have 2.5 hours until dinner. I am also hoping for a matinee or 2. I know it's not the best situation, but I know Disney also realizes that they have a lot of guests and are just trying to run damage control now instead of when it happens.

going to have a blast of winter weather the next few days. It's cloudy today with rain on the way. By Friday night they are calling for snow showers with accumilations in the mountains (up to 8" in the highest elevations) and a roof top dusting here. Brrrr...... I think we are going to skip going to the game Friday night since we are leaving at 6am Saturday for Hershey.

Moose is doing better and better each day, but it may take a while for all the toxins to leave his body, poor guy. The Sr trip is over Memorial Day weekend--Thurs before until the Wed after. As for chaperoning, that would be fine--and easy, as there are only 28 in the graduating class, and I think only about 20 going on the trip.:rotfl:

I booked our pre-cruise hotel stay today. We are going with Country Inn & Suites for a couple of reasons. We are 6 in our party, and with a suite we can all stay in one room, and we will be in our personal vehicle, so the free parking while cruising is a great deal.

Where is everyone else staying?

Hi Paige. We will be flying into Orlando from New Orleans the day before the cruise so we decided to stay at the MCO Hyatt for the convenience. We will then take Disney transportation to the Port. We have also decided to stay at the MCO Hyatt the night we return from the cruise and fly out the next day. I have already booked our 2 nights at the Hyatt, but am waiting to book my airfare until Southwest starts booking flights in mid-June.

We will also be at CIS. The park and cruise package was the deciding factor for us. We will be driving and my parents will likely be flying (but may drive instead) -- so we are both booked with the park and cruise just in case. Actually, I guess they will need the shuttle portion of the package even if they don't need the parking. We have the five of us in a suite and then my parents in a regular room.

Has anyone seen these pictures yet? They even have pictures of the inside of the Dream! They are awesome!!!

Enjoy!!!

Abitagirl,
Thanks for sharing the link to the USA Today photos of the Dream. They are great! I have not had time to keep up with looking at the live camera during the building, so it was fun to see these.

We will be doing a three day land vacation staying at BLT before the cruise. It will be our first time at BLT, it's the resort we bought into for DVC. On our first cruise, we stayed at the MCO Hyatt the night before. i liked their hotel restaurant.

When should we think about FE exchange? After the holidays, in January?

Those pictures sure got me in the mood to cruise! How will I go to sleep now??? :rotfl::rotfl:

We are also fellow BLT owners, and are planning on staying 3 nights before the cruise too!! We *heart* BLT!

As to the FE, I definitely vote for after the holidays - LOL. We're doing Disney over Christmas and I'm already overwhelmed with Disney details - - I don't think I can add one more. :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day!!! :flower3:

You are quite welcome! Someone posted that link in the main DCL forum and it got me so excited, especially to see some of the inside of the ship, that I just had to share with my fellow cruisers.

The live camera right now is updating looking at the Dream outside by the dock. There is activity of the cranes but I'm not sure exactly what they are doing.

Lately, I live and breath Disney Dream!!! I can't get enough!

The other day I was telling my wife that some are canceling thier cruise on the Dream this year to do a 7 day cruise on the Fantasy. She looked at me and "So we'll have to book next too. I don't want to wait til next year." :cool1:I like that. Now just hope they cut the down payment in half again to rebook onboard.

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!

Tammy, thanks for sharing the link from USA Today! Awesome photos!!!! I see we DO have Fish for the Fish Extenders!! Yay!! and love seeing the inside of a stateroom that didn't have a magic porthole like we've been seeng, it was actually a verandah room like we'll have! Steve said, "Looking at all those pictures won't make it get here any faster." Oh well, I know, but I still have to look! I'll share that link with some of the family that is traveling with us!

Disgrits, glad to hear Moose is getting better. I had issues with Daisy throwing up after one of those meds...and I want to think it's that one? Anyway, they are not on that one now.

we are planning on staying at either CI&S or the Raddison, just need to get that booked before they sell out too! Need to find out what other family members are thinking.

Off to get ready for the day. Need to run by the middle school, bake a cake, do wash and clean house. Too much to do, too little time!

Make it a magical day!

I see that you have an 11 yr old son. My youngest is 11. They will probably bump into each other a few times, eh?

Thanks, Michele. Moose is doing better each day. I am totally convinced that it was the flea/tick med--Advantix. My vet says it has a pesticide in it and is toxic. Although our Moose is a mutt, he has a little Shar Pei in him, and the doc says they are sensitive to this stuff.
