Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

We live about 50 miles north of Dallas in Sanger, TX. We'll fly out of DFW airport.
Thanks for the tip on the ticker - I'll check that out - don't know if I want to start it yet, or wait a little longer. (Like it will make it seem faster if I don't watch the ticker each day, right?)
I keep checking the website to see if they have posted menus or new info - it will be fun to see the video of it leaving Germany!

Hope you didn't get too much rain with that last storm that went through.:umbrella:
We will fly out of New Orleans (Armstrong) Int'l Airport. Waiting for Southwest Airlines to start booking into June, so that I can go ahead and get our flights booked. Already have the MCO Hyatt booked for the night before the cruise. Thinking about booking it for the night we return also, and flying out the next day.
As far as the ticker goes, I just like seeing how many days until the cruise. It's going by faster than I thought it would.
Let us know if you notice that they post menus/new information. I also check periodically. Also, make sure you post if you see a video of the Dream leaving Germany. That's a must see!!!
Have a great weekend!

Everyone sounds like they did a lot of fun things this past weekend:thumbsup2

I'm off again this weekend to Saratoga for a wine and food fest, so I'll have to catch up again later when I'll be back to work next week and done from vacationing for the year.

Glad this thread is still moving!:goodvibes

Have fun, Rose.

I've been trying to do my part to keep the thread moving. There are some days when no one posts, but I usually check every day, and try to post on most days. We gotta keep it going and get to know each other better before the cruise. By the time the cruise gets here, hopefully we'll all feel like we're the best of friends!:grouphug:

Happy Saturday everyone.

It is "Iowa Superbowl" weekend here. Iowa St vs Iowa Univ. :rotfl2: Huge rivalry around here, so perfect time for people that didn't grow up here to get shopping done since most people are at the game or parked in front of their TVs.
Sydney is having a friend sleep over tonight, so we are going to be entertaining Ethan.

Can't wait for the ship to leave and start getting more information to make planning easier. End of January and February will be busy reading times as the first cruisers get off and start sending trip reports. Can't wait.

we just made our final payment woo hoo! I know we have a while before you have to make themfinal payment but we like to get paid for and save money to spend on board!

Congratulations on making your final payment!!! We're not paid up yet, but will probably do so before the end of the year.

I agree with you DMMom. Can't wait to start reading trip reports from the first cruisers on the Dream. I'm sure there will be kinks here and there being it is a new ship, but hopefully all of the kinks will be out by June!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!! We have exactly 9 months until our Dream Cruise!!!:yay::yay:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We're not doing anything in particular this weekend, but it sure is nice not to have to go to work for a couple of days.

Well this weekend like all others have flown by. We have pretty much determined lake season is over just to hard to get there anymore with the girls schedules, soccer games, and Girl Scouts firing back up again.

This weekend we celebrating my grandparents 55th anniversary a very true example of how to make a marriage happy and successful. My husband and I also had our 17th annivesary this weekend but with HS football games and the party we did not get a chance to celebrate or even go out to dinner, maybe next weekend.

I see that my Colts failed me today, boo hoo.......

So we have booked our reservations as GTY. I check every few days or so but will it be clear to me when they do assign me rooms? I guess I am asking if the room number will then appear or what i will see.

This weekend my daughter and I spent time looking for small trinket things for her soccer team for her "fireups" for the game she and a friend have to create the bags for. In the process I got a few ideas for FE gifts and am now getting very excited. I almost ruined the surprise yesterday when I found these really cute things in a clearance bin at the local Micheals, and instantly thought cruise. The girls asked why i was buying them and i almost said for our cruise, but quickly got the mouth stopped in time and turned it into making gifts for grandma to hand out on her Alaska cruise next year. Wow that was close. I am managed to keep this under wraps for a year now and only have to make it till Christmas but the secret is really starting to kill me.......

Hard to believe 273 days, sure can't come quick enough.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Okay it seems that our cruise is sold out. The date for our cruise is unavailable. Glad we are on board! We have talked another family into going on the Dream but they are going in May and get to see the Dream before us. My sweet wife doesn't think that is FAIR! :)

We are toying with the idea of getting a picture of the Dream and making a jigsaw puzzle out of it. We will then do a scavenger hunt at Christmas for the pieces. Anyone know where we can get a high quality photo for this purpose?

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!!

Sounds like everyone is just as busy as us! Connor was bummed he didn't get to go to his friend's house yesterday. He asked when the next free weekend was so he could go over. I said, November 13. :confused3 He was not happy about that! Oh well....between his football practices and games, and Colton performing at the high school games and competitions on the weekends, we are booked! This will only make the time go faster and the cruise will get here sooner! Colton is also going to do the Pep Band for the basketball games, so that will keep us busy through the winter months.

We'll pay off our cruise when the tax return money gets here! Another stepping stone to the cruise getting here!!!

I am bummed to hear the cruise might be sold out! We have another family that want to book but was waiting on the employer to cough up some back pay before booking! I'll have to text her and have her to call!

Going to take my Droid over to Verizon this morning. It's taking up to/over an hour to get some text messages and I have missed at least 5 phone calls. I know I am not tech savvy, but this is crazy! Especially since this is our main line now. We dropped the landline all together! If there is an emergency, I need to be able to be reached. I had another issue when we first got them where I was unable to download a picture text message. Maybe it's all connected?? The boys seem to think I got a defective phone. We'll find out!

Well, I better get a move on! Everyone have an awesome day!
Michele

Hello, all. We have tentatively booked this as our 5th Disney cruise. (I say tentatively because we have a reputation of booking cruises and then changing our minds). There are five of us cruising, hailing from the Chicago West suburbs. Myself (J. R.), she-who-must-be-obeyed (Janie), and our three kids, Alex (DS17), Thomas (DS14) and Princess Rebecca (DS9). We've been on a four-night on the Wonder, a couple of 7-nighters on the Magic, including St. Croix last November, and the 10-night holiday cruise back in 2006. We are looking forward to seeing the Dream!

Saturday we took my In-Laws to Adoke for a little sushi and the hibachi. Awfully good and there was a bonus. It was 1/2 priced beers!:drinking1 A couple of 20oz Sapporo and Kirins with the shirmp and scallops made me a very happy man.:cool1:

We're Right there with you, so January can't get here soon enough.

Welcome to the board. Where are you at in the "burbs" I'm in Elwood.

North Bolingbrook on the Naperville border. Semi-familiar with Elwood -- seen direction signs when we head down to the Speedway.

I was looking at options for some friends (a family of 4). I think you can still book some of the cat 5 rooms -- but only for 2 or 3 people per stateroom. Apparently, they must be reaching capacity at the life boat stations (?) Or maybe they are at the limit for certain age ranges of kids (?)

:welcome:! Hope you and your family decide to keep this cruise booked. I think it will be fun exploring a new ship! I'm Tammy and will be cruising with my DD Rachel celebrating her High School Graduation. Look forward to meeting all of you on board.

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!

It's Wednesday!! We are half way through another week and that's another week closer to the cruise!! whoo hooo!!!! :cool1:

I took my DroidX over to Verizon, and after 45 mins on the phone with the help desk, they determined that my phone had a bad radio in it, so I had to return it and reinstate my Blackberry. My new DroidX is on order and should be here in 7-10 days. Here's hoping it won't be defective!

Rose, I'll have to add a countdown widget too! I love that idea! AND I can't wait to see the photos of your adventures!

ewinme, we celebrated our anniversary this weekend too! Sept 12 was 18 years! Congrats to you!!

Football game tonight for Connor instead of Thursday night. The school we are going to play just built a beautiful new stadium with turf and ALL the teams use it. So Jr High plays on Weds night, Freshman on Thurs, Varsity on Friday and JV on Saturday. I am sure they have midget league too, which would be on Sunday. I am sure the field was well worth the money!

Well, gonna get a few things done...the garage needs a bit of straightening up and the flowers watered. It's been SO dry here! We are verging on drought conditions...but it's suppose to rain tomorrow! Yay!

Have an awesome day!!! :woohoo:
