Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Ok, I gotta go do some chores now.

Hey, I booked the Caribbean beach resort for a prenight cruise stay, and we'll probably do Typhoon Lagoon for the day, but the day we come back from the cruise I thought I'd add on another night at WDW and park hop on Friday to our most favorite rides..... anyone have a best idea stay for a hotel to park hop from that isn't very pricey?

Scouter,
Ferraris, food, and alcohol where do I sign? Great pics. Looks like you two had a blast.
The "value resorts" are fine especially if you have a car. If you're using Disney Transportation, Pop Century has been the best for us.

Rose, great pictures. Looks like some fun trips.

Sitting in my hotel room in Chicago, in between meetings. Glad to be going home tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Yup Ben, it was great fun. They have food and wine events like this lots of places, there must be something similar over your way.

Thanks for the resort advice.
I just booked the Wilderness Lodge today, on advice from DU travel.
Being close to the monorail will surely help.

I could have gone budget, but I do want to save time and would like to see some other hotels than the cheaper ones I always seem to stay in.
Not that I really have that extra money..... um.... yet.... I might add.
Counting on some OT at work to help fund all these extras!:wizard:
My impulsive nature leads to all kinds of spending;)
Think that is why BF Bob and I haven't moved in together yet?:rolleyes1

Missing your family I'll bet:hug:

Rose -- your pics are terrific. Thanks for sharing!

We are still trying to decide what to do next summer. I was going to add several days on before the cruise and after the cruise, but we will be there for an entire week before Christmas, and we want to try to squeeze in Atlantis next summer. Decisions, decisions...

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!

Rose, great photos!! Looks like you had a great time!! We have stayed at the Pop Century and found the bus very easy to use. Although, we didn't use it all that much. Our room was at the end of the building that butted up to the parking lot. It was quicker to walk to our truck and drive to the park then to walk up to the main building and wait on the bus. If I were chosing a hotel for one night to just park hop, I think I'd have to go with the Contemporary or Poly. From the Cont you can walk to MK and from either you can monorail to MK or EPCOT or the TTC to catch a bus to AK or DHS. I bet the rates won't be that much different then the Wilderness Lodge. Something to consider.

Well, I spent yesterday "taking the day off", so this house is in need of my attention, as is the yard. We have not had any rain, so the grass hasn't really grown, BUT the weeds have taken over and need cut back...so off I go to throw football clothes in the washer and then tend to the grass.

I added a countdown ticker to my phone! 263 days and counting! :cool1: I also saw an updated map of Castaway Cay! I plan to head alllll the way over to the far end of the family beach. It looks like a trek, but that's ok...for the peace, I'll take it! Does anyone know, does the tram make a stop toward that far end? My MIL can't walk far distances and I wondered how close the tram would get to that end.

Ok...off to take care of my chores! Have a Dream of a day!!!

Hi everyone,

We're booked on the June 12th cruise to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Our DD ages 15 and 12 will be along as well. They're looking forward to trying out the new teen and tween clubs, while my husband and I are very excited about Remy. Our goal is to get a reservation there for the evening of our actual anniversary (June 15). We've done Palo on the Magic and have always enjoyed it, but we both love French food so this time it's got to be Remy.

I for one can't wait for the first group of cruisers to get back and post their trip reports. It will be so exciting to hear all about the new restaurants, kids' clubs, pools, etc.

Happy planning everyone!

Elly

Hello Everyone! It's Hump Day!! Well it's almost over, so we are that much closer to the weekend.:yay::yay: Hope everyone is having a great week so far. My week started out great because My Saints won their game on Monday Night Football! They're 2-0 to start the season once again!:cheer2::cheer2:

Have a great evening!

Thanks Michele,

I was going to go with Contemporary, but I guess I booked too late, the only rooms left were upper level and there was quite a price difference between that and WL:scared1:
So I'm just glad I booked this when I did! Even though I really didn't have that money now, I knew I couldn't wait till I did or the availability would have been worse!

Kathy said it was still pretty close and offered boat service to WDW where I could then take the monorail/and or bus to other parks.

Still, awful pricey just for one night, I hope the convenience will be worth it:goodvibes

Are you the mower in the family? Congrats to you!:thumbsup2
I always was until my son got old enough, now he only does when he's home for the summer, now that he's back at college it's me again:eek:
Lots of mowing coming up with all the leaves coming down and I mulch them all in.... push mower too:headache:

Congrats on the countdown app! Fun to have isn't it:goodvibes

Don't know about the tram going up the family beach, I thought it only went out to the adult beach, I don't recall other stops, but then my brain has been fuzzy for awhile:rolleyes1

We're doing only the adult beach:thumbsup2:cool1:

Lucky you for the holidays!:thumbsup2

We're only adding on one day before and one after, our budget is way too tight.

Welcome Elly!:goodvibes

I hope you get your wish for your anniversary! Sounds like it would be perfect!:cloud9:

Well, that was very boring:sad2:
Not really anything big except next years promo is about memories and how you can send in pics and videos and they'll broadcast them on the castle.

Also, that Fantasyland is getting the Ariel's under the Sea ride that DL has, but a more updated version.

No big announcement like I was hoping for...... Fantasy to sail from NYC!:thumbsup2

I agree, Rose. It was pretty boring. Sorry that they didn't announce what you were hoping for about the Fantasy sailing from NYC. It would be so convenient for you and you wouldn't have to travel all the way to Florida to take a Disney cruise. But you never know. It could still happen in the future.

UUUGGGG! There were lots of disappointed people out there watching that video for the longest time! Everyone was wishing for them to announce something different.

So underwhelming! Nice idea, but no need for a major announcement video.

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!

Rose, we have never stayed at the WL, but have visited several times. Even watched a shuttle launch from there! Very cool! Maybe we'll have to look into staying there as well. Although, did you look at the Boardwalk area? You could walk to EPCOT from there. We LOVED the Beach Club!

WELCOME Elly and family!!!

I too was not blown away by the announcement. Really took the wind out of my sails. But it would be cool to see your child's face on the front of the castle!

Finally, a day of rest! These busy football and band days are wild! I don't know how people with more than 2 or 3 kids do it! We have a few families in the area with 4, 5 or 6 kids! Just crazy!! Anyway, Connor's Jr High JV team won Thursday night AND the Varsity team won too! Friday night the HS Varsity won as well!!! On Saturday, the band brought home a 3rd for Drum Major/Field Commader and 2nd place for Drum line! It was a good weekend in Hurricane!

Yesterday we got the yard cleaned up a bit and took down the last of our playset/fort/swingset and gave it to the neighbor. For 13 years, 4 months and 10 days, I could look out my back window and see it standing there in the yard...a symbol of youth, of childhood, and now it's gone. Heck, Colton is filling out College apps and wants to know if I'd like to go look this spring. Don't get me wrong, I love this age too, but I just wish they could stay little longer. I guess that's why God gives us grandkids, to squelch that feeling.

It is FINALLY raining!!! And it's suppose to until Wednesday. It's SO dry here. I know there is flooding going on, but not here. The lawn looks like straw already. Maybe the change in weather patterns will ease my headache....been over 24 hours now! blah.....

well, gonna flip the wash and maybe grab a book or a movie....
Everyone enjoy what's left to the weekend!

Dreaming.......
Michele

Hi Everyone! Hope all of you had a good weekend. We didn't really do much of anything except the usual grocery shopping, laundry, etc. Watched My Saints today, but unfortunately, they lost in overtime to the Falcons. But it was a good exciting game.

Hope everyone has a good week.
