JUST IN TIME!

With the government shutdown looking like a reality, it was great to get the kids passports in the mail today!

Attention all those in the Sorcerer Mickey FE group (decks 2, 7, 8, 12 and GTY for Ewing and Welch), check your emails! I just sent out your FE list. If you do not receive it pleas pm me! Happy FE'ing (is that a word?!)
Don't fret all of those in the Admiral Donald group (decks 6, 9, and GTY Walters and Devine), I will send your list out by Sunday evening. I am waiting on information on the number of guests and makeup(adult-kids) for 4 cabins. If I have not heard by Sunday afternoon, I will send it out and update the 4 cabin's number of participants when I recieve the info. You will have your list soon!

If we meet at Grand Floridian I don't think there is any problem with access. I have not stayed at Bay Lake Tower yet, so all I know is what I have read. It seems their pool and 16th floor access is restricted. But I have just wandered over to the GF when I wasn't staying there, to look at holiday decorations.

Would Friday sometime between 4-6pm work for you?

I think that's the day we will probably go to MK. We're driving in Thursday (be too tired after 9 1/2 hour drive to do anything else!), Friday MK, Saturday, DTD. I'll let you know before we leave if anything changes.

Another milestone in the weight journey. I'm at 205 this morning, hitting the ONEder club (under 200 lbs) is in sight!

I am also working on my weight loss. I started out at 220 about 4 weeks ago, and I started trying to lose weight for the cruise, going to the YMCA & taking kickboxing, step, and Zumba classes and also changing my eating habits. I'm down to 204 and can't wait to get UNDER the 200 mark!!!!!

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!!

We will be at Disney the week before the cruise as well! I am not sure what our plans are as far as parks...I know we made a few dinner ressies, but I'd have to pull the papers to see when! I feel I made those ressies SO long ago! LOL ANYWAY, if, as suggested, we can put the meeting places and times on the front page (Thanks Crystal!) then we can see if we can make it to a meet or 2! We are staying off site at Liki Tiki. I've read mixed reviews on it...I hope it's okay!!

To Ashman and ***********! CONGRATS on those weight losses!! I KNOW it's not easy!! Been there, need to go back! LOL I seem to be creeping on the pounds here lately...need to get out and get moving!!

Not much new to report from here....just counting down the days! 57 til Disney Parks, 65 til Disney Cruise!!

We are staying off site at Liki Tiki. I've read mixed reviews on it...I hope it's okay!!

I am still looking for an off-site place to stay. We usually stay at Clarion Inn LBV, but was thinking of getting a condo, especially so we'll have a washer/dryer since we'll be at WDW for a few days before. I have been looking into SunLake Resort Condos. It's $69 a night for 2 bedroom/2 bathroom. The reviews are mixed so I'm still just looking. Need to decide soon!!!!!

Just wanted to tell everyone to check their spam folder if you don't see your FE list (especially Gmail users)...when I didn't see it in my inbox I checked my spam folder and found it....I do have a question though...can we have both lists if we want to do the whole group? I plan on covering a lot of the ship anyway and would like to see the other rooms participating so that I can give them something too during my rounds

You shouldn't have any problems going to any of the Disney hotels for a meet unless its at BLT like someone. Just tell the guard you are there to meet some friends, they'll look at you license and then tell you where to park unless you choose to valet...we do it all the time.

Just saying Hi. I have not been on for a few days have been wrapped up in Graduation stuff. Our Seniors have finals the week of May 9th and Graduation on May 20th. I think we have 960 graduating this year. He will be a little speck walking across the stage from were they make us sit.

If anyone is driving down and needs anything from Daytona Beach on the way through just PM me and I will give you my phone number. Also we don't leave till the morning of the cruise so if you forgot something and don't have a car on the way to the boat let me know and maybe I can help

Needing some help! Just received letter from Government on my FIL passport. They will not issue due to the fact that his birth certificate wasn't created until many years after his birth. He was borned at home with the Dr. having an accident and being killed on his way home from the birth. Never had chance to file birth with state. He is the last remaining family member and school he attended until 8th grade has been destroyed in fire. So no school record. The only record we have is his enlistment into the military and they won't use that. I know this is closed circuit cruise and passport would only be needed if he needed to fly home from Bahamas. But he is 84 with Alzheimers and I worry he might need to fly out. Just need some thoughts on if it will be safe for him to travel without the passport. MIL leaning toward canceling but she really needs this trip. Thanks for your time and thoughts.

Gloria, if this birth certificate is all he has, I don't know what else you can do unless the state is willing to issue a new one for him.. is the birth certificate at least a raised-seal certificate that will be good enough for the ship documentation? I understand the concern that he may need to fly back, but I think that would be an extreme situation. I just hope your MIL will feel comfortable enough to let him go without the passport.

Wow! I would bring what you have and any other documentation that you have concerning the death of the doctor and the school burning down. This way you can be covered and have proof just in case.

Gloria, try contacting your local congressman. Sometimes it takes the government to change the government. Recently I read where a WWII vet just got his citizenship because a government official intervened on his behalf. Otherwise, having traveled with a parent with Alzheimers, I have found everyone to be more lenient with them. Hopefully, if he stays close to his regular schedule and has his DW and family close he will do Ok. That is how we get my mom through trips.

Busy weekend! We took 55 Junior High kids and 20 High School kids to Wake Forest University for the NC Junior Classical League. Our middle school chapter finished #1 in the state! Aquillae Regunt!

This may be old info for you guys, but if not it may alleviate some anxiety. Many places,,, like Indiana,,,, don't have raised seal birth certificates any more. DCL knows about this and apparently so does the government , TSA. None of our recent certificates have the "raised" seal. Only the old ones we got as children 53 years ago. Our children do not have raised seals on theirs. I suspect we are not the only ones. I specifically ask the birth certificate people when we got them if there was any way to get them and the answer was no.
Ours always work. Hope it helps if that actually becomes an issue.

marci,,, we'll be at the beach club villas for the two days before the trip. Wilderness after the trip. Probably do cirque du coleil if we can get a discount. Everyone try to let us know how many people will be touring so that we can get band/stickers.

GOOD MORNING FELLOW CRUISERS!!!

Well, the dreams have started! I normally don't get them, pre-vaction, but I have heard of many people that do! Last night my dream was about our oldest, Colton and I. We were meeting everyone for dinner. We went to Animator's Palate, but we were the only ones of our group that was there. I didn't know our waitstaff and thought it was very odd that we had a new staff..and noone else was coming to dinner? I pull out our KTTW and find that we are at the right table, just the wrong restaurant!! We were suppose to go to Enchanted Garden and now we've missed dinner and it was the only night we could eat there! I was SO upset because I REALLY wanted to eat there!! LOL You can bet that I will be double checking my KTTW card before going to dinner!!!

I have no advice for Grandpa not being able to get his passport. I would be making phone calls to everyone and anyone I could think of though...whether it be your congressman, local passport office, goverment records, Disney Cruise? I have no idea. I just wish you GOOD LUCK and hope everything turns out for the best!

Going to be a record breaking weather day! We might even see 90 today...which is too hot for this time of year. Add to that the fact that it's rained the last 2 days...A LOT...it's going to get steamy too! and of course, we made a Home Depot run yesterday and want to get some landscaping done.

Time is starting to fly. It is hard to believe that in just 2 months from today we will have checked out of POFQ at WDW and will be checking in at the CI&S in prep for the cruise. The sad thing is that I know time will fly all the faster once we are actually there.

It has been really hot here this weekend and they are saying we could get some bad storms later today too. We did lots of outside work yesterday in the 89 degree heat and I remembered how miserable it can be in Florida in early June. I am sure we will be fine but I had forgotten how uncomfortable it can be. Isn't it funny how you forget that stuff just enough to allow yourself to book that next trip?

I think we are going to take the kids to the pool this afternoon. Nathan needs a refresher swimming lesson and Allie really needs to put in some practice as well. She still does not know how to swim and it would be so nice if we could get her to swim at least at a very basic level before our vacation.

Is it June yet?

Good Morning Everyone!

We're having a nice, warm weekend. It was near 90 here in Wichita yesterday.. very dry and kind of windy, but it was nice and the kids were out fishing, paddle-boating and playing all day.
We took off in the "hooptie" (1986 4Runner with the top off) and went to dinner, came home and the kids went outside again and played basketball with the neighbors late into the evening.
I also got a good 2+ mile run in yesterday morning! I'm sticking to my plan of exercising EVERY day. It sure is a lot easier to do when it's so nice outside!

Michele, I have vacation dreams, too .. usually forgetting passports or something horrible like that, which terrifies me. DH thinks I'm crazy checking my bag every 10 seconds on the way to airports, ships, etc. I hold onto these things like they are my life!
