Disney Dream July 4, 2012

one of the many cruise planners i talked to and i have prob talked to all at one time or another sugg outlook loung for possibel meet and greet.

Outlook looks good to me. How about Vista Cafe as a backup if Outlook is closed or reserved by a group?

I downloaded the Ship Mate app for my iPhone that I saw recommended on the boards. It's got the deck plans as part of the app and that part will work in airplane mode. I'm not sure if I'll keep my phone on me much, but this would be handy for the first day when we'll be running around the ship to learn our way around.

Got my cruise docs today -- anybody else get theirs yet? I like how the reservations that you've made so far are listed inside the book.

Ducks quack, Kenanncat,

Thanks for calling your sources to to double check things. This whole changing of the schedule every five minutes isn't helping my plans.

No cruise docs yet. Maybe they'll come after the long weekend.

hi all,
ran to the mail box today looking for cruise docs like i used to when i was waiting for the mail to bring my my sky king secret decoder ring which u used to get for 25 cents and a lid or box top from some awful tasting stuff.
no trip docs today maybe tomorrow. the docs are important but what is really cool are the disney luggage tags.
hope everyone had a great long weekend.
cheers,
from ducksquack

Got the cruise doc book today also. Was sad cause the luggage tags were just wrap around the handle things no fancy cool mickey mouse tags. Sugg go over the doc book carefully found out something that i thought nurse becky did didn't get done so had to do some damage control.
still no sky king secret decoder ring. guess it's lost in the mail.

everyone stay healthy 32 days and a wake up
cheers from,
ducksquack

Since we are staying at WDW before the cruise, we got very very cool luggage tags for that portion of the trip.

How did you know you had missed something? I reviewed ours but thought it looked okay.

We leave in 28 days plus a wake up for Orlando! Getting close!

Our luggage tags are just white tags with my name and our stateroom on them. We're driving ourselves to the port though, so I assume it's just for getting our stuff to our room on the ship.

Still nothing in Texas. We are flying in from Houston the morning of the cruise. Does this mean we get cool luggage tags?

hi all,
not sure how u get the cool luggage tags. believe if u do a pre wdw vacation or use the magic express u may get the good tags. otherwise like kennancat said you get tags that ident ur cabin number. if ur driving to the port and not using disney transport instructions said to put the tags on right before u get to the port not when u check ur bags at the airport if ur flying in.

for tgreen - if u did a close check of ur cruise docs and all looks good (especially make sure ur port advs are all listed) u should be ok.i did a check of vacation summary and did not c a port adventure listed that i thought we previously booked, took care of it.
double check sailing itin, flight info and the extras to get an idea of other stuff tipping etc. there also ship contact info for just in case.

wud sugg if the rest of our group has not received their cruise doc book - call disney cruise line and ask why.
everybody take care and stay healthy
cheers,
ducksquack

yeah! got my book in the mail. i still have left over "cool" tags from disney world last year, but just got the other ones with my book.

i'm getting super stoked! can't wait to step foot on the dream.

take it easy everyone!

Still nothing here. I'm thinking it might be because Clint and I didn't select a specific room. We may be waiting for Disney to fill up rooms before we get our final assignment.

Anyways... ONE MONTH TO GO!

We had to book all of our previous cruises almost within a month of sailing due to my previous job, so this is the first time we've ever booked early enough to get the travel documents. In other words, don't worry too much about getting them; you probably have all the information you need anyway and you can get the forms you're missing at the port :)

One interesting thing I did note reading through them -- gratuities will be automatically applied to our shipboard accounts. I'd seen all the threads about this change, but there hadn't been a fixed date for when this would get implemented on the Dream. Personally, it saves me the step of having to stop by Guest Services to ask them to do it, so I'm fine with it. If anybody else wants to pay them in cash or wait until the end of the cruise to determine what they should be, know that you will need to go to Guest Services to make that change.

hi all,
just for grins called the cruise line to see if dress up and pirates night are the same as they told me and maybe others. for our cruise dress up night is night 2 and pirates night is night 3. doesn't matter what ur dining rotation is still the same nights for all. did not see what rotation i had in the cruise doc book but any of the cruise planners can tell u if u call. still need to get some black shoe polish for my flip flops for dress up night.

also asked about weather stuff. case u forgot june 1 starts hurricane season. planner lady said disney will call us if there is a serious weather problem. we actually road out the rim of a late cane on our last disney cruise. matter of fact storm did mess up some of castaway cay but all still had fun.
later
take care and stay healthy
month from now we're on the ship
cheers,
ducksquack

My family lived in Puerto Rico for 4 years, so hurricane season is drilled into our brains. Looks like the Magic cruise out of New York hit some choppy weather with the latest tropical storm. Hopefully the weather gods smile on us and the worst we have are a few Caribbean sprinkles. I've also heard that the captain can sail around the worst of the storm in most cases.

What's everybody doing to count down the final month? I'm traveling a lot for work, so this month is going to fly by. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by!

August and September are the months with the most hurricanes historically. Here's hoping the trend of low counts in June holds for us!

I laughed for a good five minutes when I read your reason for editing. :happytv:

Ms cari asked what are we all doing to get ready as time is flying. I'm in my sit and ponder mode making mental lists that will become a reality about four days before we head south. i believe some call it pre trip panic! that is not the time to have to remember where we stashed the passports, did we print out and sign the preboarding papers, stop the paper and mail, get someone to water the garden, get someone to take care of the pets oh that's right we dont have any pets. one less thing to worry about - ya'll get the idea
disboard has the pirates night menu shown under dining did not see any other menus listed. will do a search later
take care and stay healthy
back to list pondering
cheers,

Counting down in Omaha! 24 days until we leave for Orlando.

My DD leaves Snday for 6 days in San Francisco with her high school choir. So right now my focus is on getting her ready for that. But in between that I am making to do lists for next week when she is gone, finishing fish extender gifts and still planning the WDW portion of our trip. Cannot wait!
