Disney Dream July 4, 2012

I laughed for a good five minutes when I read your reason for editing. :happytv:

Yeah, I originally had "here's hoping the trend continues" and realized that was so not what I meant! :)

disboard has the pirates night menu shown under dining did not see any other menus listed. will do a search later

Hi all,
good morning from maryland
did a search for disney dream menues and got a lot of hits so rather than listing them just want to let u know they are out there, lots of good stuff on kids menues also. course these post cud be from last year so items cud change.
do any of u good people know of a site/place that has a good layout of castaway cay? we're doing some activities there and wud like to know where they are located in relation to where we get off the ship.
take care and stay healthy
cheers,
ducksquack

I know this is preaching to the choir for many of u but if there are some first time sailors in the bunch this may be helpful. cruise critic in their latest post has a section on what to pack on a cruise. lots of good info that may save u from over packing and insuring u bring the stuff u never thought of.
all take care and stay well
not much longer
cheers,
ducksquack

Anybody else packing yet? I've got a business trip next week and a busy week after that, so I've decided to go ahead and start now. Plus, my new swimsuit arrived in the mail and actually fit really well, hallelujah! :cool1: Lands' End is having a sale on all their swimwear and water shoes if anybody else needs / wants a new one for the cruise.

I have to get dd unpacked first. She comes back from San Francisco tomorrow. But I will be spending time this weekend making sure we have everything we need. We leave in 2 weeks and one wake up for the first 1/2of our trip!

Hi all! My daughter and I are getting so excited!!! So glad we joined the exchange as it is giving us something to work on while we count down the days til the cruise!!! Hope you are all doing well :yay:

We just finished our FE gifts last night! All packaged and ready!

Where is the final meeting place for the 4th? Was it still to be at 3?

suitcases are out, many trips to wal mart, target, the malls to get all the stuff we think we need but probably dont. special thnx to kennancat for the heads up on lands end sale wife got bathing suit there she really likes.
seriously considering going into isolation next week to stay away from family kid germs. in that regard -
stay well
cheers,
ducksquack

Great, glad she found a suit she liked!

I'm in Seattle for a business trip and realized yesterday that the Wonder would be in port today for the Alaska cruises. I intended to go jogging by the waterfront this morning to catch a glimpse of it, but sadly it was pouring down rain this morning, so no luck :sad1: Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait a couple of weeks for the Dream!

I'm back!!!!

Been traveling for work the past two weeks. Finally back in Texas. I'll be unpacking my suitcase only to repack it. Still have to finish my FE gifts. So much to do and only two short weeks to do it in!

We leave for Orlando in 8 days! Woo hoo!

Of course this weekend I have to kick into high gear - packing central here!

The Outlook lounge had been suggested with Vista Cafe as the backup if Outlook is closed for some reason. If anybody has any objections to meeting there at 3 PM, speak up now ;) Otherwise, I will plan to see everybody there. Getting close to single digit countdown!

FYI, I called this morning to find out what movies may be playing on our cruise. Here's the list if anyone else is interested:

Cars 2
Muppet
John Carter
Chimpanzee
The Avengers
Brave

hi all,

called disney cruise and asked if the outlook lounge is open on embarcation day. nice lady said she thinks so as all things are open sooo if that's the case will try to make it at 3. if by some chance its not open vista cafe is a good alternative.
outlook lounge is on deck 14 forward
vista cafe is deck 4 midship
not counting today which is almost gone 9 days and a wake up
all take care
cheers,
the duck

hi all,
called disney today to get the real deal on what the check in times really ment. found out i didnt really know. here is what i found out. i have an 11:00 check in time which means i can enter the port and terminal sometime thereafter drop off the luggage and do the register and security stiuff. HOWEVER that does not mean i can embark on the ship. Lady said unless the ship gets cleard early u cant get on untill 1PM. so if you get all registered and and get blessed thru security u have to wait in the termnal untill they call your embarcation number earlier you register the lower your boarding number will be so it's still a go0d thing to get there when your ternimal time is. (you will be given one). the terminal has seats, tv's and restrooms no food. so there u go
hope all is going well with all
cheers, ducks quack.

I think they tell you 1:00 for worst case scenario. I did a search on "port arrival time" and it looks like most people with an 11:00 port arrival time get on before noon. I also checked out the navigators and they list lunch operating hours starting between 11:30 and 12:15. We've got an 11:00 boarding time too and we're planning to get to the port as early in our window as we can -- we'll be prepared if they don't let us on before 1, but hoping the early trend continues!

rodger that kennancat. kind of got the same impression from the disney lady. the dream gets into port tues so i cant see why it should take so long to clear the ship. guess they have to get the bed bug dogs to check all the cabins. we'll be there asap. want to get a low boarding number.
cheers, ducksquack

That was my general understanding as well. We have the same arrival time as well. Our car should pull up about 11am assuming no traffic issues.
