I'm with you, Custard Tart and Bonzie! We usually take a nice long trip to WDW at this time of the year, a relief from the cold - but this year we are trying to get our credit cards paid off and save up for our Dream cruise. I am SOOO missing my Florida escape

Only thing keeping me going is planning for our cruise - one year from now we'll be leaving for our vacation, going to spend a few days at DVC Vero Beach before we leave on the Dream.

Back from Mexico. I noticed my last post said I was headed there to get some sun. Well, we arrived to rain all day Saturday with a high of 65 and cloudy the next couple of days. Finally got full sun and 80 degrees the last couple of days. The weather honestly didn't spoil our trip. In fact, it made it nice for visiting Chichen Itza, the Mayan ruins.

Hope everyone is finally warming up. Denver had it so nice the last week. It was in the 50's.

We booked the first day, but this is the first time I got around to posting. we are platinum members from Pittsburgh. It will be my son, Brandon-age 14-who talked me into letting him miss school for this, and my husband Sean and myself.
We had waitlisted for a suite, but never heard. We are in 9078 and have main dining. I see so many people here that I feel I know from all their posts and now I will get to meet them!

We are back from frozen WDW - actually it did warm up to almost normal temps our last 2 days there. It is also wrong to stand out waiting for a race to start and seeing SNOW!

We are new to this site, but we are VERY VERY excited to be going on the Dreams Inagural sailing Jan 26, 2011!

It will be my husband (Dan), myself (Niki) and our daughter who will be 15 at the time of sailing.

We have been on 3 previous Disney Cruises and absolutly LOVE the Disney line!

I think we are booked in a 4C catagory, room 7??? (will get back to you on this, lol).

This forum seems like a great group, looking forward to meeting you all

OK I know the Magic was delayed a couple of time as we fell victim way back when, What do you all think about this one? Will we sail on 1/26/11???? DCL keeps saying the Germans are very efficient and will be on time. Keep this in mind when booking air and pre stay rooms etc etc…. I am just one of those Book early kinda persons.

Also do you think the christening will be right before we sail??? SO thinking day trip to Port of hotel at Port Pre Cruise.

We did talk about a pre cruise WDW meet Wine and Cheese party. Done them before, talked about a Tree House Villa, too small for this group as it seems to be growing, so whilst at OKW back by Turtle Pond, I noted the BBQ Area, this started the grey matter working, … What about a BBQ at OKW? We will keep it simple , just a thought.

I'm sailing on the Inaugural with my DD27 but she won't be able to stick around for the B2B due to work commitments... Therefore I think I'll sail solo - unless I can tempt a friend to share with me...

So this will be our very 1st inaugral cruise!!! We are so excited to be apart of this exciting event. We have been on 3 prior Disney Cruises so we know what to expect, but this will be our VERY 1st inaugral....

Can anyone tell me if there will be any "special" events that we can look forward to or should know about?

Working on it. Hoping to get a "real" picture of the Aquaduck in June, 2010.....

ok I am excited, I think i see part of the ship being built on the webcam..

I just saw the front of the ship and my stateroom is under construction. If you go to the Disney Cruise Line website and click on Port Adventures, go to the Wardemunde Germany excusions, then click on Building the Disney Dream...Shipyard Visit and then look at the slide show and you can see a couple of pictures of the ship! It is so exciting. We are hoping to take this excursion on the June 12th Baltic Cruise. Hopefully I can give an up to date report when I return!

Yes, we are doing B2B, moving to an inside "virtual" stateroom for the 2nd cruise.

I think the ship will leave as scheduled and the christening will be the day before we cruise. One of those out and back thingies for the important peoples.

I agree. They are planning on arriving with the ship in Port Canaveral on January 6, 2011. (or was it the 5th?) I'll have to ask Captain Henry again.......

Anyway, I'm up for the BBQ, however, if they christen the ship the night before, we will be headed to Port Canaveral, even if we don't have an invitation. We will watch from afar.....or sneak in........just like a White House Party! HA
