Disney Dream Cruisers November 27, 2011

Will any of you bring true "semi-formal" wear for semiformal night? I mean, I don't have my prom dress anymore... :) For dinners was just thinking of nice slacks/skirts and blouses for me, khakis and polo for DH and DS, dress for DD. Thoughts? Thanks! Tish

We will not be dressing up this time. I chose to leave the dress-up clothes at home to make more room for all the souvenirs we bring back :goodvibes I do plan to dress just like you mentioned above. slacks and a blouse for me, khakis and polo for the DH and both DD in dresses.

I'm doing the coat and tie thing. However, since I am in court most days, it really isn't a stretch. The biggest pain will be shaving while on vacation (I soooooo hate the face scrape while I amsupposed to be having a good time).

We dress up for Palo night....dress/shirt and tie....and capri's or sundress/slacks for the other nights. On pirate night, people dress very casual....including pirate wear. There will be pirate bandanas when you arrive at your seat for dinner so you don't have to pack anything extra if you don't want. During the days, bathing suits and shorts....and sun screen. Have fun packing!

Yeah, and this time, for Pirate Night, I am going full costume. I really wish they would allow swords on board - I have a great rapier, but could borrow a cutlass. And, with it being not summer/pool season, the foam/pool noodle type swords are not in the dollar stores. I don't want to spend the money on the ship for a sword. Oh well, at least I got a cool pirate-y hat.

Wow...it is finally close!! We leave for WDW in one week. This time next week I should be eating at Sweet Tomatoes and enjoying some warm weather. It was 38 degrees when I left home this morning. I am doing a rare day appearance...and of course it was cold as 4am!!!:confused3

My semester will be over on Tuesday - so I will really NEED this trip!!!
:rotfl2::thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I have 32 cabins listed for the FE list...is that correct? I have a list sorted by cabin number if anyone wants it - I can post it here I think. I have included all comers (easy to make more!)

The meet is at what time? I seem to recall the "duck" being the place (I would actually suggest going behind it and up a half deck - the actual area at the "duck" is small and get crowded with kids riding it (not sure if it will be open while at dock or not)

I picked up a few foam swords from the Target $1 bin about a month or 2 ago. You can check your Target but they are probably gone or sold out before Halloween. We are going all out too. I just bought DH a great Pirate Costume from JC Penney for just under $10 thanks to discount code and rewards certificate. And my costume should be waiting on my front porch when I arrive home tonight. pirate: We were able to get all the kids costumes after Halloween on clearance.

I'm packing tomorrow and getting my FE things in order. We will be going to the parks and staying at Saratoga Springs Thurs-Sat before the cruise.

Darn you straight to heck!! Target is a good idea, will check them this weekend, and Party City. I didn't think about the costume until about a week ago. Luckily, I have a Renaissance/Musketeer costume. A couple of mods without harming what I have, and I am good to go (change hat, drop the sleeves, if possible, add cheap plastic gun and sword, etc.). I really wish I could shop "off the rack" for costumes, but, being a big guy, I just can't do that.

I think 32 is correct. The meetup is set for 3 PM.

My DH made a powerpoint presentation of the FE list with locations of all of the staterooms.
I could email it to whoever would like a map of each deck with staterooms marked (also has listings of all occupants).

Getting closer!!

Hi everyone and anyone.

Looking forward to my 3rd DCL cruise but
FIRST ONE ON THE DREAM.

Thanks for sharing the info on the dream

Made a mistake and made an early plane reservation from Orlando on the return (December 1) at 10:10am. Is anyone planning to leave the ship early and go to the Orlando Airport? Anyone have experience in using the DCL shuttle early?

Thanks.

Oh Sonney, is there any way you can change that flight? I would seriously check into it.
Yes, the ship gets back early BUT sometimes customs holds the ship.
At 10am, the passengers on the previous sailing had not even started getting off the ship when we were there to board Dream in Jan.
The airport is still quiet a way from Port Canaveral also, so its a lil drive.
Then you have ckeck in at airport.

I always say never book your flight until noon or after, just to be safe.
Keep us informed!

Just trying to get my post count to 10 so I can send a pm. :)
Have a great Thanksgiving and safe travels to FL for our cruise.

FYI - Ed & Carol will not be able to sail with us this coming weekend, she posted this on facebook earlier today

"Carol Pranis - I am being admitted to ice with clots in both lungs. We will not see you on the cruise. I am sooooosad. Carol Pranis
Lopear1"

Maggie & Ashley (kmcdougan) have volunteered to collect FE Gifts for Ed & Carol and mail them to them when we return

"Maggie Madere - Hey guys.... I'm going to put a christmas stocking on our door for Ed and Carol Pranis since they will be unable to make the trip. I know that our FE gifts are personalized and so we want them to have it anyway. If anyone else wants to put gifts in there for them I'll collect them and mail it off. Carol, I hope that you get well soon! Please message me your address and I'll get those of to you guys in time for a Christmas smile"

So please if you can drop the FE gift for Ed & Carol (Lopear1) with Ashley & Maggie (kmcdougan) Cabin #5186

Thank you Maggie for being so thoughtful! We wish a speedy recovery for Carol!

It is so warm today! Great weather for a cruise!

We had our company "decorating luncheon" today. We were asked to dress in holiday attire for corporate pictures. It was torture wearing a chistmas sweater and it being 85 degrees outside. The only thing that saved me was thinking - yea baby!!!! warm up those bahamian waters for our LOVELY criuse this weekend!!!!!

My phone says 118 hours left!
