Hi Ryann! You are just in time! We are going to close the game on Sunday, July 3 to give all of our participants (especially Group #4) time to create and gather their gifts. I will add you to the list. I hope I am right in assuming you have read through the thread and understand how the game works -- very similar to a Secret Santa-type game. I will repost the rules as well. You guys are going to have the best vacation of your lives -- I am so excited for you. Your children are the perfect ages to enjoy a Disney cruise! YAY!

Hi everyone. It's Alyson! I am sorry for posting so much but I wanted to make sure everyone has the most up-to-date information. I just wanted to reiterate some of the details of the fish extender game since we have a few more families joining us!

We have four groups playing in the game which is AWESOME! The more, the merrier. Right now Groups 1, 2 and 3 are filled and Group 4 is starting to fill up. So, Groups 1, 2 and 3, you can start making your gifts because I won’t add anyone else to those groups. Group 4 may see some more families, however, we will not add any other families after July 3. It so hard to establish that guideline but we want to make sure our Group #4 families have enough time to prepare their gifts. No one wants to make their gifts at the last minute!


Just a few reminders:

*Your gifts can be handmade or bought – they only need to come from the heart. I think this activity is such a kind gesture to begin with so whatever you choose to give will be grand!

*Gifts can be grouped or individualized – you may choose to give each family or cabin a gift or gifts for each person.

*We will begin distributing gifts on Tuesday (August 9) of the cruise. This way we all have time to unpack our extenders on Monday, get them hung up and organize our gifts. Last year I put gifts for each cabin in plastic grocery bags and attached the cabin numbers to the outside. When we got to each room we just took them out of the bags and stuffed them in the pockets of the extender! It made it easy to distribute, but whatever method works for you…go for it! Please distribute your gifts anytime on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of the cruise.

*If anyone forgets a list on the cruise I will have copies of each groups cabins with me so just find me in Cabin #9564.

*Soon I will edit the list to put them in cabin order to make it easier for you to find the rooms.

*A few days before the cruise I will establish a "meet up" time and place where anyone who wants to meet up can do so!

*If there are any errors to your information, please let me know ASAP.

Hi Ryann,
Awesome question -- thanks for asking it.

Typically, families provide one gift either per person or per family, so you don't necessarily give gifts everyday. The majority of participants will create and give one gift per person/per family. I suppose if you are that creative and energetic you could leave small treats each day but it is not necessary.

And, since we really only have the middle three days to do it, it is best to give one gift. As much as I thought I would be so excited to start my gift giving on the Monday of our cruise, I remember last year wanting to unpack a bit, eat and enjoy the amenities of the ship. By day two our family was more organized as we set out to make our deliveries. And, of course, on Friday morning of our cruise we won't have any time to do anything but eat and get off the ship! One time a guest opened their door as I was leaving my gifts -- I felt like Santa and didn't want to spoil the surprise so I asked them go back inside for a minute -- haha!

If you have read through the thread you now know the fish extender activity for our group is now closed, unfortunately. Hey guys! Any update on a meet and greet time/place? I have some cruisers on our cruise page who aren't on the boards that would love to get together.

Hi Lauren,

It is nice to meet up on the first day because days two and three we are in Nassau and Castaway Cay and I hate to wait until Thursday to meet. So, with that said, everyone arrives to the Port at different times though everyone has to be on by 3:45 p.m. and most are on well before that. We also have to consider the drill at about 4:15 p.m. then the fun sail away. And first dinner is at 5:45 p.m.

So...with all THAT said, I am thinking if we can meet at 3:15 in the D Lounge it would give us enough time to get on the ship, grab a bite to eat at Cabanas and then time for the drill and the sail away.

I will propose we establish an initial meet at 3:15 p.m. on Day one (Monday) in the D Lounge, Deck 4, Midship. It is very easy to find and family-friendly! From there people can discuss meeting up again or joining for a tour/class of some kind.

Hopefully that sounds good!

P.S. I always put a magnetic dry erase board on my cabin door so people can leave messages about meeting up, etc.

However, we started assembling teams back in December and our cut off for the game was July 3, so unfortunately, the game is now full. Hi Janjan,

I see we are still missing the cabin number for rgutland in the Group #2 Dream Weavers, and that is your group. I assume they are still participating since I have not heard otherwise so hopefully they will share their cabin number once they see this note. Yes, if people do not have cabin numbers yet, they should by the time they board and it is extremely difficult to participate in the game if a cabin number isn't provided. I would make the FE gifts either way because we could find out at the last minute!

Fingers crossed they see the note and come through then we'll have all of the information we need!

Hi Everyone! Wanted to introduce myself and my family- I'm Rebecca and I will be sailing with my DH Chris, our DD Lily who turns 3 on the 7th and our DS Sylar who turns 4 while on the boat on the 10th! We chose not to do FE for our first cruise to see the ropes and just take the experience in. We come from Virginia and will be staying in Orlando the day before the cruise and one night after. We are so absolutely excited about this trip!
