Hi Amy
I'm a single mom as well. Just me and dd9!

Hi all,

I'm interested in participating in the FEs since it sounds like so much fun, but how does it work? Do you get or make something for everyone participating? Or, is it like Secret Santa, where you're assigned one family?

My DH - Patrick, DD - Caroline, 8 1/2, and me - Jen will all be on board! We're in room 9538.

Thanks!
Jen

Hi Jen!

I'm really excited about our FE group!!

Basically, you make or buy something for each family participating. You can do one stateroom gift, you can do something for each member of the family--whatever you prefer! Doesn't have to be anything big--just something fun to add a little magic to a person's cruise! You just have some type of hanging pocket outside your door--and when you come back to your room--you can check and see if anyone has left you all any goodies! If you check out www.etsy.com and search Fish Extender, you can find some hanging pockets there. Also, if you search the forum for Fish Extender ideas or Fish Extender Homemade gifts--you'll find lots of great ideas!

I'll add you to the list!! :thumbsup2

After seeing every posting that they had their room numbers I just checked. The Kelly's are in stateroom 7078 (we got upgraded!!):cool1: I am so excited.

This is our first cruise but I am interested in joining. Is there going to be a cap on the number of families in our group...just don't want to be too overwhelmed on this first trip!

Would like to join...

Michelle
Bob
Anna (8)
Cabin 9077

Any info would be great!

Hi Michelle and Bob! We haven't talked about a cap, but perhaps other cruisers can weigh in! I have seen that some other cruising groups have done that. What do you guys think?!

One thing to keep in mind, as well--is only do what you are comfortable doing! It definitely shouldn't be a burden to anyone--but something FUN! :)

We have set up a deadline on when to sign up--which we are under 30 days on that.

I got you added, as well!

My parents are also going with us and my mom may want to join as well! I will find out tomorrow!
Thanks for including us! Do we have a list somewhere or will a final list be sent out?

The list is on page 2--I've been editing and updating as people sign up. :)

Ohhh....I was thinking we did have a 15 family cap for some reason...maybe from reading the other threads?? (although...I can see this being not so much a HARD limit...for example, if a famliy comes along as number 16 right at the end it would be OK).

Anybody else got any suggestions?

If I counted correctly, we're at 11 now... I'm okay with setting a limit, 15 sounds good! Perhaps we just put on our Cruise Meet thread that if anyone else is interested--they start a new thread??

I guess if we reach before March 15th, as well- we can just go ahead and close the group?!

Any suggestions?!

That sounds good to me! I'm afraid with any more than that we won't have time to visit everybody's FE!!

I'm getting soooo excited!

I think the cap at 15 sounds great. I went out tonight and bought stuff...and made 2 crafts for our FE's. I got enough stuff to take care of 15 cabins so that sounds great! Thanks again for organizing this activity!

Ok, yay!! 15 it is! I'll add it to the first post. :thumbsup2

Do you think we should go ahead and notify people on our meet list OR wait until we hit 15?
