Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

:cool1: Next week at this time we'll be walking the deck under the moonlit sky without a care in the world! :cool1:

My parents live in FL & said they are having above normal temps right now--the week ahead is looking gorgeous! We are leaving Weds morning for Orlando--when is everyone else heading South?

Sam--glad you checked in with the group! There are a lot of 7 & 9 year olds in this group so your crew will be in good company!

So hard to believe that the time has come--I am so looking forward to seeing this all become a reality! :lovestruc

:cheer2: We leave on Friday mid-day for a drive to Savannah, GA. And then on Saturday we head into Cocoa Beach and the Radisson! :cheer2:

We can't wait to meet everyone! I hope that your drive/flight down to Florida is a safe one with very few "bumps" in the road! :upsidedow We are so looking forward to some warm, sunny weather! :cool2:

:laundy: 6 days left! :laundy:

We are flying down Friday. Will be at SeaWorld:fish: until Sunday morning.

A teacher in my daughters class yesterday had kids raise their hands if they were going to miss schol on Friday. My DD said half the class raised their hands and then the teacher asked how many of those were going to Florida and almost all the hands stayed up! And that's just one class in one school. I can't imagine how many Michiganders are going to be descending upon Disney this weeekend!!!!

BTW, I read a trip review yesterday from someone who just got off the dream and had 90 cabins on their FE list. :scared1:

Can't wait to meet everyone. This time next week I'll be soothing my Pink hangover and getting ready for a Rum Run. Yikes, maybe the timing on that wasnt' so brilliant. :rotfl: JK

OMG....so hard to believe that one week from now we will be sipping our Mango Rum :cool1::cool1:

I spent the weekend sorting clothes like crazy. I have three bags stuffed completely full (within weight limits but no room to add much else), one carry on for food, one carry on for FE gifts and three backpacks. I am going to have to find a way to get rid of some more cloths or I will have no room to bring back all the stuff I buy on the ship :rotfl2:

We fly out Saturday morning so I still have some time to work on it. But I probably won't be able to tackle it until Friday night (since the other weeknights will be filled with homework, getting dinner ready, etc).

Now to see if I can make it through this week at work :lmao:

Crystal...I just realized you live in Yorktown...call me slow! We were just up your way last Thanksgiving and really had a great time.

It's getting cold here in SC...for us anyway...34 tonight and has been raining most of today...I told my wife that it will make us appreciate the warm sun even more...I'm sure all of you from up north will GREATLY appreciate that Florida/Bahama sun!

We aren't planning to leave until Saturday, but with all of the traffic talk we might sneak out Friday...I95 will be a bear.

Speaking of I 95...there is a town in SC named Ridgeland...it is just past I 26 and they have cameras set up to catch speeders...so slow down if it isn't bumper to bumper anyway.

Any guesses on the movies onboard? My daughters want to see Prom and my wife, son, and I want to see the new Pirates of the Carribean. Also, do you think they'll show the basketball national championship game eventhough it's not on a 'Disney' channel?

We are flying down to Orlando on Saturday, renting a car at MCO and then having dinner at Boma (AKL)~DH and DD have not forgiven me for the following offenses: going to WDW withouth them last month and then having the audacity to have dinner at Boma and then adding insult to injury by going to the parks! I had to work for that trip by running 13.1 miles!!! (Princess Half Marathon):banana:
After dinner we are driving to PC and staying at the Residence Inn.

Are we there yet???????:yay:

See you all on SUNDAY!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We were on the Magic last year during the championship game and they showed the game on the big screen up on deck.

Welcome to the group!!!! I hope you will be able to join us for our group meet(s)!!

We fly to MCO on Sat morn and heading over to Pop Century for a night. We wanted to go to downtown disney for shopping and dinner at TRex. HAppy Limo is picking us up Sunday at 10 a.m.
Its cold here in Illinois too. Both kids had their track meets cancelled today because it was too cold...low 40's. so we are looking forward to much needed warmth! Trying to get all the clothes I have laying in piles into the suitcases. I had my daughter make me a pin with lime green mickey ears to put on my bag. 4 more days!!!! Hope everyone has uneventful trips to their Dream cruise!! See you all in few days. Wendy

Thanks Jennifer...my son will be glad to hear that news...my wife has beat us all in the bracket picks and she is letting us know all about her skills:worship:

:cool1::cool1::cool1: TWO DAYS!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I can't wait to get out of this cold Michigan weather! Have a safe voyage and see you on the DREAM!!!! :goodvibes

You just made DH's cruise! I figured they would have it in one of the bars but to have it on the big screen... :woohoo:

Jawdropper--I heard they are playing Mars Needs Moms & I would love to see Prom (may have to go on my own to that one!), will that one be coming out when we're on board?

Suitcases are packed, boarding passes printed...Florida here we come! :cool2:

Yeah...we're in Yorktown. We have lived here all our lives...so the historical aspects of the region have become like second nature. Once you know Virginia history, then you know US History...basically. I guess since you all came in November, that you didn't get to go to Busch Gardens or Water Country. Both places are great in warm weather! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip about I-95! In December we had smooth sailing down to Florida...we are keeping our fingers crossed that that will be the case this time too! :goodvibes

We had frost on the ground this morning! This weather is crazy...I had to cut the grass last night because it was getting long, however; this morning I sent my kids to school in their heavy coats...I don't get it! :confused3

Anyhow...Safe travels for everyone!!! :wizard:

Hey - Who mentioned the gathering at Pink on Sunday night...and then the issue with a Mango Rum Run in the morning? :headache: We all should be good to go! :cool2: We will have had a taste of vacation...and then head out for some more fun! :rolleyes1

Update - My crew just talked me into booking Atlantis for our Nassau day. So I used Majestic Tours and paid 400.00 for one day of Atlantis...Yikes!!! The Comfort Suites was coming in over that...so we went with the tour place. Anyhow...we still plan to Mango Rum Run...and then we will catch a cab to Atlantis. Nothing like last minute planning!

Have a great Tuesday!

Just had thought- game is on Monday and we are in Nassau- if that is Pirate Night, the deck where the big screen is will be busy in the evening for the 2 parties. Sorry :confused3 I am sure the game will be telivised somewhere- it is usually on the Navigator.

Jennifer

Crystal~ Have you ever used Majestic Tours before? And where will you pick up your vouchers for your day at Atlantis? Thanks!

No we haven't used Majestic Tours before, but they come highly recommended over on cruisecritic on the Bahamas boards. We did the Comfort Suites thing last time, but this time the price is crazy. I mean, 400.00, is crazy too...but it's less than the Comfort Suites.

I went on the Majestic Tours website and chose tours and excursions...then you proceed to the bottom of that page and click "To book your tours now click here"...and they give you a list of their tours. You can click on the #15 one "Atlantis Aquaventure" and see what it offers. Basically everything on property except food. I then put in my info. for a quote...the 130.00 rate is for transportation also...I told them no transportation needed...so it's 10.00 off of each rate. In the notes section...I listed date needed...how many adults...kids...etc...

A gal named, Karen Smith, responded and attached a form that I had to fill out and fax to them. They have two fax numbers on the form. Karen responded after she processed my credit card...gave me the directions for where to pick up tickets and a confirmation number. Ticket pick-up is at the Atlantis Coral Towers - Majestic Tours Desk in the Coral Towers lobby.

This would be really sketchy if it was not recommended by Scuba Girl over on the Bahamas board. She lives in the Bahamas and has the best information. I have read her suggestions for two years now. And have used her suggestions also.

Sorry for the long post...wanted you to get a clear picture. :goodvibes
