Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Well school started back here on Thursday... I am glad to have some alone time with the youngest, but I really do miss having my oldest around to help out :(

Well school started back here on Thursday... I am glad to have some alone time with the youngest, but I really do miss having my oldest around to help out :(

Oh My! :scared1: You all really do go back early! We don't go back this year until September 7th! :goodvibes I am not looking forward to another school year...it feels like we just ended the last one! We still have one more reading project to finish with my middle-schooler also. :sad2:

Unfortunate news-flash: Kind of ironic especially with how much baseball we play...but my back window in my mini-van got busted out yesterday at our tournament! It shattered into a gazillion pieces! What a mess! We'll get it fixed this week, but what a bummer and a pain to deal with!

Oh, and we lost the first game of the tourney. :upsidedow Our defense was tight, but out bats were not on. This tourney is to raise money for MD. So they combine 7-9 year old players and play off of a machine. My son, and the other nine year olds are used to kid's pitching at about 50 mph. This machine was pitching at about 35 mph...needless to say...our older kid's were swinging way too fast for the pitch! Oh well, we start our regular baseball season in a few weeks and really don't want to mess the kid's swings. :thumbsup2

Well that explains my life right now! How's everyone else doing? :surfweb:

A question for everyone on the FE exchange. Are we going to have a cap on the number of kids/families? I am just wondering so in case I come across somethig awesome how many do you think I should buy? As of teh last update we had over 20 kids, and I am sure more have hopped onboard too:banana:

I'm still looking for that perfect giftie, but I knwo some people said they had bought already. If so, how many did you buy?:confused3

That's the hardest part...knowing how many to buy. :confused3 I do know from in the past, that most people are not huge planners...like we are! :cutie: So I expect many to be jumping on our DISmeets board and joining in on the fun around 3 to 4 months out. I know that our FE sign-up cut-off is about a month out. Still doesn't help if you find something now. :upsidedow So...as you can see...I am no help with this one! It's going to be a guessing game!

We are likely to be cruising a full ship...during many Spring Breaks (kids)...I don't know??? :rolleyes1 Wish I could help...anyone with predictions?

Hi all. Our family is doing well, girls are back from camp and already talking about next summer so I guess they had fun! We don't start back to school until Sept 8th.

In response to the FE question, I won't put a limit on the number of families/kids but if it gets too large I will split it up and make a "group A", "group B", etc. Although of course everyone is free to give to whomever they like. Really the FE's end up so full of stuff, and some people mark their names on stuff and some people don't. So it ends up a bit like Halloween where you remember which neighbor gave what candy for the first 10 houses or so and then it becomes a giant blur of stuff and you can't keep track anymore; all you know is that the kids are ecstatic and everyone is having a great time. (Gosh I sure hope there are no Halloween-haters out there or this will have been a terrible reference.) :) Okay, I have to go back and look and your post, I digress and forgot if I've answered your queston.

p.s. I'm very jealous that I'm not on deck 7. I'm on deck 8. I'll have to take pleasure in dancing on your heads.
:dancer: Deck 8

Deck 7

p.s.s. Oh yes, about how much FE stuff to buy. I guess if you find something cute you're safe to get a bunch and figure that you'll give it out to the people we have so far and you'll get different stuff later on for others. Everyone doesn't have to get the same thing. Just so long as I get one of everything. That's the rule! :rotfl2: (kidding) I've worked three exhausting 12 hour days in a row, I'm getting very silly!!!! Good thing people here have a good sense of humor!

Hi All!

We start school here tomorrow - I cannot believe my baby will be in first grade - just not quite ready for her to be this far along yet. She has an awesome teacher - so we should have fun!

I spent my day cleaning up 2 months of dust bunnies that we acquired while I was away on business. My husband did an awesome job at everything - everything but the dust bunnies (I am not complaining) - so I evicted the bunnies and we can all breath again in the house :)

Crystal - that stinks about your window! :sad2: Baseball is the only sport in our town and this is alway my fear going to all those games. I'm alway paranoid when I'm chosing parking ;)

I'm jealous of all of you who have a month left in summer - but can we come back together in May next year when we are enjoying a week at Disney while you're in school - it will only be fair - LOL!!

I'm also trying to plan for the FE! I've got to get a jump on them - I have gotten some awesome things in our past 2 cruises and felt mine were lame. Everyone is just so creative -- I don't have a creative bone in my body!! I've got 7 months to find some sort of creativity :upsidedow

Hello Everyone!

Whew, it's been awhile since I've posted--between all the fun-filled summer activities, vacation planning, & an unexpected "graceful" dive down the bottom of my basement steps I've be pretty busy! I was piled up with groceries that I was taking to our basement fridge, went down too fast, missed the last two steps & went flying--fractured my elbow (no cast thank goodness) & messed up some ligaments by my knee. Wow, what some people do to get a couple weeks off of work in the summer! :rolleyes1 I'm fine now so it's all good--had some good quality time with my boys & made the most of it! :thumbsup2

Happy to see that everyone is having a great summer! Wow, I can't believe some of you have school back in session again--that is way to soon! So glad we have until after Labor Day too--I'm with the minority too & hate to see the school year start back up!

I love the Rum Run sign! I'll order something with the logo on it as well, great idea. I have to go back & check out the links yet. I did do some playing around with searches on the rum stores in Nassau but didn't hit the right source yet--I'll keep trying. We need to find someone who will be going before April & see if they can give us any info. There has to be one shop that's close to the port!

Sorry to hear about your window getting blown out Crystal--wow, what a mess. Hopefully you didn't have too far to get back home! Glad to hear you survived your trip to Pigeon Forge. I have to say, we definitely are planning to go there in the near future but just dread the traffic issues down there!

I cannot wait to hear how this Browniefest turns out! I know it's coming up soon--have tons of fun & take some pics for us! No food fights, okay? :duck:

After debating on several different itineraries we finally decided to go to Niagara Falls for our summer vacation. We are going next week & can't wait to show the boys the beautiful sight! They are just excited at the thought of going to Canada--I think they have it in their minds that it's some exotic land that we're going to! :rotfl:

Everyone take care & enjoy the gorgeous summer weather! For those of you heading out on vacation, stay safe & have tons of fun!

Kathryn

Hello! I got my window fixed! And at last night's game we parked waaaaaaay far away! Oh, and we won! :thumbsup2 So we are still in the tourney.

EcbLovesMickey - How did you get the Deck 7 Club graphic in your signature? I have attempted to do that before...but have had no luck. Any hints??? :confused3

And Cindy...I hear you about dancing on our heads way up there on deck 8! :dance3: I also like your advice about the FE exchange...go ahead and pick-up stuff now for those that are already listed...and then fill in the gaps when the new folks join in. :flower3: And yes, it is like Halloween...the kids absolutely love it...well, so do my husband and I!

Kathryn - I am so sorry that you fell and injured yourself! :headache: It is no fun being in pain, but it sounds like things are going along pretty well for you...:thumbsup2 And a couple of weeks off...not a bad thing! :goodvibes

As far as the tote bag thing with the Mango Rum logo...when you all get a chance...check out artscow.com and zazzle.com and vistaprint.com...and let's see what we want to do. We could all just take the DISign and order whichever one fits our needs best...or we could all order the same one??? Ideas??? :wizard: I do know that my designs on both zazzle and vistaprint disappear pretty quickly unless I log into the account...but maybe you all know some other tricks??? :upsidedow

Hey - are the Browniefest crew in WDW right now? Just checking...Can't wait to hear how things went! :grouphug:

Kathryn - have a great time in Niagara Falls! We have never been there before...I would imagine my kids thinking the same thing about it being an exotic land!!! :rolleyes1 Don't you love kids!

Happy Tuesday!

Kanga- I loved Niagara Falls when I went, which was AGES ago when DH and I were still dating. We drove up to Niagara on the Lake and the town was so cute and had a great playhouse!

Crystal- I put the graphic into my photobucket account then got the webcode to put it in my siggie.

I believe the Brownie girls are down at WDW as we speak (very jealous over here), can't wait to hear their stories!

Thanks for the help! I finally got the Deck 7 Club graphic to go in...and then it totally messed up the rest of my signature! :scared1: I also attempted to put in one of the "Let the Dream Begin" DISigns...but I couldn't get those to go small enough. Anyhow...I guess I am going to have to wait until I take the LOTS countdown clock off...and then I will have more room! :cutie:

There is a limit as to how big your siggie can be... maybe you maxed out!:rotfl:

I can't believe I have missed so much.:goodvibes I have been working too much lately. I love the deck 7 graphic! :) Don't party too much, I am on deck 6. I saw the first draft of our Rum Run sign, but then I guess I lost track. Guess I will have to go back and read up.

My Thingy(is there an official name?) to hang in the hall for the FE came this week. :yay:(Yes I bought one, didn't make it!) Supper Cute but it was smaller than I expected. I did read soewhere that maximum width is 8 inches. So I guess it is right? Just have make small gifts to fit into everyone elses. :thumbsup2

I also called to AAA to get room rates for after the cruise. :scared1: Glunk! I don't think we will be staying at AKL  unless we get a great discount code somewhere. I am hoping that there may also be a good deal when the land sea packages come out but they tell me not until end of September. Are they crazy don't they know I am ready to book and plan now! :confused3

Oh well back to work! Have a good day!

Hi Dawn! Glad to see that you got an FE! :thumbsup2 Yes, they are smaller than one would think. :upsidedow And...I have seen them overflowing with stuff! :rolleyes1 The Official Rum Run sign is in post number 351 - the second DISign. The wording on that one looks much more balanced. I have no idea about the booking of AKL...we usually end up getting a great deal around the January time frame...I know that that is way too close for your time-frame...:goodvibes

Happy Day! :)

Hi all, it has been ages since I have check in on this thread. We were talking about the cruise and DH asked if we were going to do the FE thing again. I told him I had to check to see if someone had organized it yet. So how do we get on the list? :) I did a deck plan with the cabins noted of those on the FE list last time, I can do that again if needed for this cruise when it gets closer :)

Also, we are doing the B2B with the April 7th cruise. We would love to connect with others who are doing that to hopefully connect someone with my dd who will be in the tween club and be a bit shy about going without knowing anyone.

Crystal, I looked at the three sites you mentioned for personalization. I liked zazzle.com the best b/c they had several t-shirt's for women other than that standard one inch think ribbed Hanes type collar. I kind of liked the casual scoop neck. I also played with putting the design on front, on back, and with different sizes. I kind of liked the scoop neck (pictured) with the pocket size graphic. Or maybe we should put it on the back instead? Thoughts anyone ? they have tanks and fitted t's too. This scoop neck comes in yellow and pink too! ......Cindy

Hi Michele! Glad to see you popping in! :tigger: You can PM Cindy - kikids - to get on the FE list. The FE information is found on page 11 post number 165 of this thread. We already have a pretty big list...can only imagine what it will be like once we cruise! :thumbsup2

As far as the B2B list...we don't have one yet. What we can do is add the "B2B" symbol on the first page of this thread next to each crew that is doing the B2B...then hopefully connections can be made. :goodvibes

Cindy - I liked zazzle.com the best also. I didn't even think about trying it on shirts! I think that their prices are very good. I really liked their tote bag that was 9.95 - with a colored handle also. I think that we each can just take the design and apply it to whatever fits our needs/personalities! We are definitely going to be making a statement about our DISgroup! That's awesome! :thumbsup2

Hey - this DISign would really look nice on pink! I might just have to do a shirt and a tote bag! Why not! (I think that that is the slogan for Royal Caribbean...kind of ironic...we're cruising them in a few weeks!)

I think the pink would be cute! :cutie: I am kinda thinking it is really big for the front, I may put it on the back and maybe a Minnie Head on the front pocket size that says "Do you DIS?" or maybe my name. Easy to get to know everyone that way.

You guys do great work!

So, can you invision us all in matching T-shirts, bedazzled Mickey ears, carrying matching totes and drinking Mango Rum... LMAO
