Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

OMG, that is so true. I almost slipped again last night. I can't wait until Christmas so that I can tell the kids and get their help with the planning.

LOL, me too. The boys dance around to a CD from Nemo that starts with a song that sings "won't you let me take you on a sea cruise" my oldest asked when we would go on a sea cruise again, and I almost said, next year... I managed to say. "next.... time we get the money"... lol

Help! I've seen folks talking about using Priceline to get CI & S for a $49 bid. Now, my question is what do I do? Yesterday I went to Priceline and logged in. I requested a 2 1/2 star hotel in Cape Canaveral and entered a of bid $49. No good. I went back today and did the same thing but bid $50 this time. No good. Do I need to do this every 24 hours with a $1 higher bid until I get a room? Do I stick with $49 and wait it out? I've never done this and I sense frustration :headache: in my future.

Please help me oh wise 4/3/11 Dream cruisers!

Nancy

Maybe if you wait until closer to the date. I have never done Priceline with much luck

Hi Nancy!

Great to hear from you...are you getting excited! :yay: Only 10 more months! My kids just asked about starting a count-down chain. I told them that that would be a very, very long chain! :goodvibes

My guess on the hotel would be that you are needing a hotel during a peak travel time...so the rates may be higher. What are the normal rates for the CI & S for the time frame? :confused3 Do a comparison of the rates right now and those for next year. There may be a difference...just a thought? :rolleyes1 So on Priceline the bidding price would have to be higher. Again...just a thought. I know that last year during April the Radisson at the port was way higher than normal. Keep working with the numbers...something will work out! :thumbsup2

Woo hoo! Another month bites the dust! :cool1: At least we know the next 3 months will fly by--tons to do & beautiful weather to boot!

Nancy, I was following the CIS thread too & from what I saw they were nowhere near next April yet with the sucessful bids. I've never dealt with Priceline yet so I'm not sure how that all works--it sounds like you're on the right track with the city & star rating though. I would say to keep an eye on that thread & watch for when they start hitting closer to our dates. That would be an awesome price to lock in on! :thumbsup2

I caught the tale end of a Disney Channel commercial that kept using the word "dream" repeatedly--it actually was a very inspirational message that they were putting across & I loved what I saw of it, telling you to follow your dreams. Of course this being Disney, I wonder if they have a subliminal message in there... :scratchin Ah, the power of marketing! ;)

Happy Friday Everyone!
Kathryn

I thought I read on the other thread that they don't put the rooms up on priceline until closer to the actual day. I will be watching it too so hopefully we can update the group when the rooms become available.

:teacher: Now that summer has "officially" arrived in our neighborhood I got to work on my signature. Hopefully all shows up correctly! Looks like, in addition to passing the 10 month milestone, we're almost ready to pass the "300 day" milestone!

Hope your summer is off to a great start. I enjoy reading all of the posts.

Wow! I can't believe how much rain we are getting! I thought it was supposed to be June here! Hope we have a summer! I am definitely all about that! My oldest son has been home from college for a few weeks now (He started school in August and gets out in May) but our three youngest don't get out until June17th! These next 2 weeks are crazy busy with end of the year everything!
Nice to come here though and relax and think happy sunshine thoughts! We are almost at the 300 day mark, right? Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Happy Summer Break to some! :woohoo: And for the rest of us...we still have two more weeks of school! :headache: And as for our weather...hot, hot, and more hot! I think we jumped from winter to summer in one week! Anyhoo...all is well!

Have a great Sunday afternoon!

Oh my goodness, we have been out for over 2 weeks now! Although we also start back the first week of August. Oldest one is off the grandparent's house this week too, so I get a bit of a break!

We must be the last ones to get out. We still have three more weeks (well, the last week only has 4 days). But we don't go back until the Thursday after Labor Day. So I am trying very hard to keep the kiddos focused for a few more weeks, LOL. Or wait, maybe it is me that is counting down. Yep, definitely me :rotfl:

LOL - my DH just called me at work to tell me he was in a store and found something really cute that he thought I might like for our FE (and did he want me to buy some while he was there). What a sweetheart considering he isn't even going on the cruise with us :)

OMG you're going alone with the kids! That is VERY brave!!! I guess your's are older though, I couldn't even THINK of taking a 7 and 2 year old by myself!

ROFL - I am not even that brave with a 12 and 7 year old ;) My Mom is going with us for this one. My DH really doesn't like cruises (he went on one before we met) but I have never been on one and really want to. So we compromised. Me, DH and the kids are going on the 2-night mini cruise on the Wonder together and then my Mom is going with me and the kids on the Dream cruise. That way DH will be there to experience the first Disney Cruise with the kids, but he won't have to go on the longer one. A win-win for everyone, including my Mom who is really looking forward to do this trip with the grandkids :)

Wow! How do I get my husband to be involved with FE stuff? He just gives me the "Uh-huh" routine when I go to explaining what we are giving out. :confused3 The first time we did FEs I even made DCL stretch beaded bracelets. They were really cool...I even attached them to cardstock with Minnie on it. He was not impressed...I think he enjoyed giving out the rum the best, though! Well and since we had some extras...;)

Cindy PM'd me today and said that we are up to 6 families participating in the FE exchange. I can't imagine what our total number is going to be??? Can't wait! :yay:

To jetskigrl - your mom is going to have a blast with you all on this cruise! We took my mom for her first cruise last August...she had so much fun! We even had an FE made for her and she participated in the exchange!

I hope everyone is having a great week!
