DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

This is our first cruise. I usually pack as light as possible for the parks but I am thinking we need more of a wardrobe for the cruise (Pirate Night, Dressy night, cruise casual etc.) Can anyone give me ideas on what to pack for "dressy night"? I have 3 girls so that should be relatively easy. Do I need to pack dress shoes and pants for DH or are casual shoes and dockers ok? A tie?

I can't wait to start packing!

"Dressy" night for us is usually sundresses for females, dockers and short sheve collared polo type shirts for males. Dh usually wears dockers w/basic dress shoes, while DS (who's 7) wears shorts with "fisherman's" sandals (closed toe). The 7 night have "formal" night during which you can wear gowns / tuxes - you may still see that on the 5 night because it really is what ever people want it to be. Many folks go all out for the opportunity to do so as well as for the more "formal" pictures taken by the ship photographers that night.
If you don't feel like even getting a bit dressy- no worries. You won't be denied entry into the dining room is you have capri's and a nice shirt on. Only real rule of thumb is no shorts / tanks / cutoffs / flip flops for dinner time.

I pack as little as posslle with mix / match items and a lot of 'no iron' sundresses (me and my $12 Walmart specials!!). :rotfl2: Throw on the nice sandals and no one knows the difference (until I just told ya'll my secret - I swear if ONE person yells "Walmart Special" when I walk into the dining room I KNOW it will be coming from a DISer!!)

HA! So much for "spring"..... 3 inches of snow today AFTER IT FINALLY ALL MELTED! This is SO not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, now if I see you, I'm going to have to yell it.
Are you early dining?

I am set....And I will be comfy!pirate: Just need some summer leggings too put with it.

I am undecided on dress up night? I have so many dresses....:rolleyes1 I am sure I can find something to wear....

I pretty much am just packing sundresses, flip flops and sandals for this whole cruise.......:cloud9: Oh and lots of swimsuits!! I have a bad habit of purchasing swim wear that I do not need.....

I went on DCL yesterday too see if I could add someone too my room, but no luck..:confused3 Guess I am giving up...Josie and I will be fine...

I do hope hubby can join us afterwards for our long weekend at AKV...

Flights are just so expensive... I still don't have my flights home booked yet.

I'm not sure if it's still a valid offer - but Hertz is/was having a special on 1-way rental out of FL- ie pick up in FL and drop off in another state

We got a mid size rental for a week for $55ish total w/taxes

I hope this may help you or anyone else who can get some mileage out of the deal:rotfl:

I'm in capris, shorts, t's for the most part: We are bringing 1 fairly formal set of clothes; figure it will serve for the Dressy night, Palo dinner, and then Victoria and Alberts once we hit Disney :goodvibes
haven't decided on Pirate night yet - we have some pretty decent costumes but really don't want to drag that much stuff around~

Hi everyone!!! :cool1:

I just bought my Fish Extender and Pillow cases! I am SUPER excited! :)

Hi Stef,

Congrats on getting your FE. No, you don't need to worry about the fish, it is already there. :thumbsup2 We included a few different color water proof pens with the pillow cases. They look much better in color, at least to me. We also put in a small bag of miniature hershey bars as a thank you.

There is an active list of everyone that is participating in the FE. If you go to the roll call there is a link to the current FE list. The link to the roll call is in my signature at the bottom of my post. You are not at 10 posts yet so you will not be able to send Virginia an email with your info. If you post your info here, next time Virginia signs on she will add you.

I am getting so excited now!! As a family we have been watching video and looking through all the photos everyone has posted...

Spent some time with my 3 yr old working on FE gifts last night. I think Virginia had asked if a good cut off time for the FE group would be mid April?? I think that is perfect, but I will go with whatever the group thinks :)

Looking forward to meeting everyone soon!
Melissa

Hi all--I have been a board stalker long enough! I want to join in the fun!!
This cruise will include myself (DW-42), DH (50th b'day cruise) and our DS (15) and DS (12). This is our 2nd Disney cruise (Wonder 2008 land and sea) and we are beyond excited! The ship looks amazing!
We would like to join in on the FE, but being a newbie--I'm clueless :confused3
Help please?!?
Looking forward to getting in on the conversation!

Welcome aboard: If you click on the link in my signature it will take you to the roll call for this cruise. There is a link on the roll call to get you to the page for the FE. You can see everyone who is participating and Virginia has some links at the bottom that can help you get started.

I am getting so excited. We have have a few great days of weather which is really making me happy. So we officially have 66 days until this cruise, 63 days before part 1 of our b2b and 62 days until we start this wonderful vacay.

We have been busy getting ready for all of the end of school activities. Another hint to us getting close. May is going to be jam packed. And of all the 8th grade graduation activities my oldest son is only going to miss the actual graduation. I'm sure he will be okay with being on the ship instead.

FE are soon to be started. Only have a few more things to get done before our assembly line starts

Excursions are booked. We have chose Atlantis and Segway tours both in Nassua. Just secretly hoping that my 12 year old will be able to take part in the chill spa. We are passing on Palo's and Remy's both this time.

Okay so enough rambling. Just really giddy today

Can't wait to see you all soon.

Wow this is going to be a HUGE FE exchange- last count we were at over 30 cabins and that's from a few weeks ago! I better get my @$$ in gear and start planning! :rotfl:

Just finished up 3.5 wks of working roughly 6 days/week training (Major IS upgrade at work and I've been training nurses / docs on the new system). Major surgery tomorrow a.m. so I now get to have 2 wks off :worship:.... stinks that I have to have major surgery to get any time off these days but while I'm recouping, I'll be able to work on all of my FE gifts!!! (this is assuming I figure out between now and next week what I'm giving!!).

Welcome to all the newbies sailing with us who have started posting!!! And those of you interested in meeting for drinks (in addition to any other meet and greet) COUNT ME IN!!!!!!!! Nothing like a great glass of wine with great friends to make it truly a great vacation!!!!

We won't be in on the FE, but we could get together for drinks, although mine may have to be non-alcholic because of my arrythmia. It seems drinks can set them off, so I will only be drinking very occasionally and I will be very picky about when. Don't want to have problems on the cruise.

Good luck tomorrow with the surgery. Hope all goes well. pixiedust: We are game for getting together for drinks. We have late dining though so it would need to be after dinner. I am still hoping we have time for a 3:00 meet before all the activites start on Sunday. Have never had much success meeting a group at the pool before sail away, just too many people. But we can work it out.

What's the deal with the pillowcase? I have not heard of that and am clueless.

I am a Carolina Girl, too! But live in Ga.

To join the FE, pm Viriginia - mommyarewegoingback

It is a large group. You can give individual gifts or 1 family gift. You can spend what you want. Some people do dollar store or oriental trading gifts. I am not giving everyone the same thing. I am making some items and buying some items.

Here are some FE's I made. There are instructions on a thread somewhere around here.

For all doing the FE, please pm me your last name & 3 initials (for the adults in your party). If you don't want to give out that info, if you can send me the first letter of your last name, I would appreciate it. Not sure what I am making yet, and may only need the initial.

I think I have most of the kid's names, so no need to send me that info.

If anyone wants to friend me on Facebook, please send me a pm.

Thank you.
