DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

This may sound like a silly question - but we don't really travel THAT much and I'm a last minute packer (nothing goes into a suitcase until the day before we are leaving, and ususally right before I go to bed).
How do you keep all that stuff from not getting wrinkled?? Is there a better way to pack things that help prevent wrinkles?? Like I said- I pack the night before and I still feel all wrinkled when I wear the stuff that I end up unpacking the next night once we are in our destination!!!!

I like too roll my clothes...Put all my hang up dresses and shirts in a thin garmet bag and then fold it in half on top of all my other clothes. Hang anything that wrinkles in the bathroom while you shower and the steam will take out most of the wrinkles. Also pack some downy wrinkle release adn that works good too.:goodvibes

I have clothes set aside in the closet for the trip and I did order me a new create your own swimsuit from Disneyshopping.com last year. So I have things set aside.
I just can not wait till April when I can say...We leave next month!!!!!
I am mailing my point lady her check today for AKV so everything is paid except no flights home yet?:confused3
We are not doing an excursions this trip. Not even getting off the ship in Nassau. I did book a cabana massage at Castaway Cay and DD and I plan too bring our own snorkel gear and take out a kyak.

A while back there was discussion (pun intended) on t-shirts to identify our group. We're definitely interested in buying for my family. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss the opportunity somehow.

I don't think it went anywhere. I think most are creating their own tee shirts and door magnets.

I was putting laundry away today and I ventured into those dark corners of the closet where you NEVER go and I found 3 sundresses I completely forgotten I had bought last year for work! They are all over casual pull over comfortable dresses that look nice with a pair of high heeled sandals. I was SO excited because dinner time seems to be the time that I stand there wondering what the hell to wear (regardless of how well I plan and pack....). :rotfl:So 3 out of 5 nighs are DONE - plus I have one 'dressier' dress for the semi-formal night, and a pair of capri's for first night and I'm GOLDEN. I plan on spending the rest of the time in a swim suit catching some rays....:beach:

As far as DH, his suitcases are in the attic already packed. He comes home from vacation, does the wash, refolds everything and puts it back in his Disney bag, wrapped in a thick plastic bag, and he's ready for the next vacation. I'm talking everything right down to the underwear. If I would come home from work tomorrow & say we're leaving for Disney, he would just grab his bag, some shoes and sandles & his bathroom kit & he'd be ready to go:cool1:.

OMG - My husband usually says "hey... did you pack my stuff" AS WE ARE BOARDING THE PLANE!!!! :rotfl2:

Has anyone stayed at Best Western Cocoa Beach before? We are thinking of staying on the beach the night before and I found this hotel.

I lost my sewing room (packing room) when DS moved back home last month. Last 2 vacations I just left the suitcases out on my cutting table and packed a little at a time. This year I will probably be packing a day or two before because I have nowhere to leave a suitcase open. If I leave them open too long the cats try to pack themselves in there.:lmao:

I wear my Disney stuff year round.

wow!! You hubby is all set!! :lmao: good for him.!! I like his style!

I'm a last minute packer, I try to do it the week before but somehow it always comes down to the day before!:confused3

DH was in the Air Force & living his own when met him. He was 27. He had to do a lot for himself & being in the Air Force he had to be ready on short notice.

Actually one of my favorite places too stay when visiting Cocoa beach...:goodvibes

I debated on staying there this trip, but then booked the Radisson because I do like the pool there...

If I want beach time we always stay at the Best Western Cocoa beach. It is right next too the Pier and that is a lot of fun. Grocery store across the street.

I think you will like it...:goodvibes

OMG it's FINALLY happened - I can actually SEE the grass again! Not all of it- but the 5 foot snowbanks are FINALLY shrinking!!! :cool1:

Pretty soon I'll be able to NOT wear a jacket, walk in the yard without sinking in MUD and FIND MY POOL! And by then it will be time for our cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just sayin'.....

(it's the little things that keep me going....)

Isn't it a great feeling to see green. Glad the light at the end of your tunnel is geting brighter. Our snow has been gone for a few weeks now. :dance3: I can see the tulips popping, its a great sign that spring is so close.

I think I might take out the suitcase this weekend and start figuring out what I am going to bring. I could never have a bag all packed and ready to go, I change my mind on clothes right up to the last minute. One of the nice things about this cruise is that I will be in my bathing suit every day, so no need to bring a lot of day clothes.

We had had our Disney Dream cruises booked since the first day in 2009 that we could book.....Well today she tells me that she is cancelling!!!!!:confused3

I just knew this was coming, but why did she wait till now too do it!!!

No wonder she never booked our flights....:rolleyes1

I called DCL and tried too see if I could add my husband or my Mom and they told me the ship is at capacity and even though my room sleeps 3 I can not add them right now???:sad2: The agent was so nice and told me too check everyday and when final payment approaches and people like my friend cancel then they may let me add one person....:confused3

Now I have too think about the cancelling the private shuttle and our suite at the Radisson...It just messes up everything....:confused3 I just can not believe she did this at the last minute......

I asked if I could still dine at Palo alone...How sad is that???:sad2: The DCL agent said of course...She said actually you will love it. She said her friend dined alone once and they totally catered too her the whole evening and even invited her back another night too eat at Palo..So she said go....:goodvibes

So I most likely will and who knows maybe I can add someone too my ressie. I really wish I could talk my Mom into going...I know she would love it. My husband is starting a new job soon and he is afraid too take off that week..Summer is their busiest time.....:sad2: UGH! This is such a mess.

I know one thing....I am not cancelling... DD and I have done WDW many times alone and we can manage doing DCL alone if I have too.

I just think my friend is crazy too miss out on this experience and money is not an issue for her....She said she thinks they will just go too Branson instead.....OMG!

I travel a ton for business and am a huge fan of packing cubes for small items (socks underwear etc) and use the Eagle Creek Pack-It folders http://www.eaglecreek.com/packing_solutions/packing_folders/. They are great. Things come out nicely pressed even after a few days. If I have a few stops and need different clothes for each I will pack the seperately and only pull out the folder when needed.

I was just on the DCL site and realized that Don "Ducky" Williams who is a Disney artist will be on our cruise. I hear he does a great presentation. I don't recall anyone posting this before. I am really excited.

Hey all!

I was wondering if anyone had heard about:

Pirate night? will we have it, if so when?
Formal/Semi formal night? ^ same
dining rotation possibilities? ie PTTA, TPPA, etc tho I guess the letters are different now :rotfl2:

I completely forgot about booking on 2/28 tho I did remember on 3/1

We've got Palos book for 8:30pm Thurs night, we did book Couples Choice at the Spa for 2:30pm Sea Day (would have liked that earlier but happy to get it :thumbsup2) and I just booked the Cabana Couples Swedish massage for Monday...

thats about it, had hoped to book the Watercraft ski double but that is completely book up....

I expect hubby will only want to go for 1 of the 2 spa treatment - I'm curious as to which one he goes for

So sorry about your best friend. Glad to see you are still going any way.

awesome!!! I would love to attend one of the presentation he does, that is if he does them. Never been before, just read about them and people won his drawings!!!:thumbsup2:cool1::cool1::banana:

thanks for the FYI!

Has anyone started making their FE's? I have 2 more to make for friends going on an April cruise, then I can start working on ours.

We have just now started ordering supplies for ours but, as soon as we get everything, I know that we will be excited to start. We are actually getting started on FE's really early we are usually a very last minute family.

I asked this on another thread and thought what the heck I would also ask here too......I need a hotel for sat night but not sure what to do, I am getting the impression that the country inn is nice, but for our family on the cruise special its 192. Does anyone know of any better deals, or is this as good as it gets.

Also to the fish extender experts: I really want to do this since I think the kids will have fun, but what kind of gifts do I get. I am not craft or creative....trust me its hopeless. Do people just buy a family gift or is it something for everyone in the cabin....I am in need of help...a lot of it.
