DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

We booked cat 8 gty. We were assigned stateroom 7020. I was hoping for an upgrade, but that didn't happen.

When did you get your room assignment? We also booked an 8 gty but have not received a room number yet.

It's showed up today, after my final payment went through.

I booked us Remy for dinner for the first night. We have early seating and I remember feeling rushed to dinner the first night, so I booked 6:40 dining. I didn't want to eat there the night of the pirate party, but now I am second guessing myself and thinking I should change it to Monday night. My guess is they will not do the Pirate party Monday night. I am guessing they will do it on Sea day. Anyone else think that?

I bet ours won't show until we can do online check-in on the 15th. We're paid in full but our actual pif date is 3/15.

If I meet you in the hallway with a zip-loc baggie, can I have the crumbs / scraps???? :rotfl: I would LOVE to dine in Remy, but just can't justify that cost (I'm 5 yrs s/p gastric bypass and lost 190lbs so to spend that much on food - just can't do it...)

Wishing you pixie dust for that upgrad!!

I had posted earlier that I thought it would be the sea day too. I called DCL and they have no idea which night.

You could always do Remy the last night. That way you won't miss the pirate party and you will also pretty much guarantee you won't miss one of the rotational dining rooms.

I could have paid at 90 days out so I could book excursions since we are CC members, but I would have had a problem anyway, because I ended up in the hospital on Friday. I know I wanted a vacation, but going to the hospital just doesn't cut it. I had atrial fibrillation and it took from Friday morning in the ER till Sunday morning for them to get it under control with medication. They had the pulse rate down during the night on Friday, but my blood pressure had dropped so much they were worried & didn't give me my during the night dose and the rate went right back up. If it wasn't under control by Sunday, they were talking about using the paddles to convert it. Thank goodness it converted when it did. I was exhausted. I have had this a few times before. DH said that at least it happened now and not when we were leaving for or on the cruise. I now have 4 new medicines plus the aspirin I was taking.

I will be paying the cruise before 75 days, but I am not worried about excursions. If we get something, OK, if not, Oh, well. Just being on the Dream will be enough for me. Can't wait.

Right now I really need a vacation.

I'm sorry to hear about your hospital stay. Glad they got the rhythm fixed and like your DH said, thank goodness it didn't happen on the cruise. My mom has lived with atrial fibrillation for a few years and has progressed to a pace maker. I know how tiring an episode makes you. I hope you feel better soon and recover your strength. Rest up and be ready to cruise and relax!!

Sounds like you had a rough weekend, glad you are doing better and they were able to get things under control. It must be pretty scary when it happens. pixiedust:

We aren't doing any excursions, just the massages. I want to enjoy the ship as much as possible. We will go to CC on the first stop and will probably stay on the ship on the 2nd stop. Nassau we will get off the ship to get the obligatory Christmas ornament and that's it.

I discussed Cardiac Oblation with the doctor, but she said as long as the medication is working she doesn't like to do invasive procedures. If it's a choice between that & a pacemaker, I think I will opt for CO since both are invasive. My Mom had it too and ended up with a pacemaker. A customers husband had CO and she says he is doing really well since it was done. Hopefully the meds continue to work. I really don't look forward to being in the hospital again.

Wow! That is fantastic!

When I logged in, Remy only had availability on nights 1 & 2. I was going to do the last night. I ended up changing it to the 2nd night. I figure the pirate party will not be Sunday or Monday. It might be Wednesday and if it is, that means we will be dining in the same restaurant as night 1 and the menu will be different b/c they have a special menu for pirate night. So I decided to do the 2nd night.

I explained my rationale to dh and he just said, "Wow, you put a lot of thought into that." :rotfl:

You certainly do need a vacation! Pixie dust to you!

Disney has a very bad habit of announcing things very late. We were on the first Western cruise when the swine flu started. They waited until booking for excursions stopped to announce were were not going to Mexico. As of now we are not doing any excursions. We may try for the brunch when we get on board. We are just looking forward to enjoying the ship.

I booked Remy for Nassau night hoping not to miss rotational dining, but now it looks like that will not be pirate night. I might try to change once we know for sure. I really don't want to miss the rotational dining.

wow, last week when I booked Palo for dinner for Wed night of our cruise, they still had dinner openings and Remy's was wide open and I just checked and it getting filled up online!

Still hoping to get bruch at Palo's instead of dinner...and now I'm hoping I will be ok w/ the dinning rotation as I don't want to miss any restaurants!!

Other than the first day, there is only one time slot for Palo dinner on Day 5.

We decided not to kill ourselves getting to the port early and try to get brunch on the ship. We will put ourselves on the wait list and take our chances. I really enjoyed taking the DCL bus last October and just walking right through checkin and boarding. Sleeping in and not worrying about the car rental return was another plus for me.

Really? I missed that!! When 'might' Pirate Night be, if not on Nassau night?

I'm glad we have decided not to do palo or Remy on this cruise. Sounds like there aren't many openings left for the rest of us :o

If I had to guess Pirate night will be the day at sea. This is all just supposition on my part, so your guess is as good as mine.
