DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

Hi All, hope everyone had a wonderful time!! I am exhausted...lol. So much for rest and relaxation...but there was just too much fun stuff to do :) I miss the warm weather and the beautiful beach at Castaway Cay.

Cruise Tink ~ thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, what a wonderful surprise bday card. Can't think of a better place to spend my day!!

Wish we had met more of the group too but was nice to see a few of you at the first M&G.

I do think I have my navigators somewhere & if anyone would like me to post them, just let me know.

Welcome home everyone!!
Kelly

We had a fantastic time!! Thank you so much for all the amazing goodies we found outside our door. The conceirge staff labeled us the "fun" family because if that.

I regret not meeting most of you during the trip. We ran into Virginia last night at Fantasmic!! That was fun.

My mother has the distinct honor of being the oldest women to ride the aquaduck twice!! Rachel even gave her a certificate and a mention at the last show!!! Pretty cool for 85!

How cool! I know she definitely outdid me. I only went once. My DH said it's not fast and you don't get wet. What a liar! I was soaked to the bone.

I remember hearing Rachel say that at the last show. I don't think I crossed paths with her during any of my trips though.

We were in room 7172 so practically neighbors.

It's a small world, isn't it?

One thing I was wondering about is whether or not I'd see crew members I remember from previous cruises (my last was two years ago) and whether or not they'd remember me. A couple of them actually did remember me which is amazing considering how many people they see and the fact that there are now more crew members and more guests. Did any of you see crew members you recognize?

I'm thinking about writing a trip report because I have food allergies so it may help others with allergies in their planning. Honestly, if each of us did a trip report, they'd all be different.

:sad1: We just got home and I, for one, am ready to go back!! What a wonderful cruise and weekend at WDW! Had a blast and meeting so many of you folks in person was icing on the cake! Sorry so many got shut out of the champagne tasting, but wasn't that martini tasting FUN??!!! Whoooeeeee that Washington Apple was SUPERB!!

Loved all the fun FE gifts!! The green/black backpack was put to immediate use, as were the tissues and the magnets and even the post-its! You all are a great bunch of people!!!

Angie, I LOVE the pic of your girls on the beach!! Wonder if Disney would pay you for it--it would make a great advertising pic for Castaway Cay!!

Denise, you must let us know when you hear back about Bella's audition! Even if she doesn't get an offer on this one, I just know there's one in her near future.

Robert, sorry you joined us so late--I bet you would have been a great addition to our little "family" we've created here! We, too, were thrilled to run into a couple of cast members we recognized from our last cruise. Ali, the manager at Palo, remembered us and stopped by our table more than once during our brunch, then again when we saw him in Cabanas at breakfast the last morning. When we showed up for dinner the first night, our head server from the Wonder last December was at the head of the line on the other side of the entrance of the restaurant. We all recognized each other immediately, shared hugs and handshakes all around and then he informed the guy who was going to seat us that HE would take care of us!! Turned out, Mark was the head server for our section of the dining room, too!! Good thing, because we had GREAT tablemates and got a little rowdy now and then!!! :rolleyes1. Amazingly, 2 of our tablemates were from this thread--Sandyrella and her sister Carol! How ARE ya, girlfriends?! Hope you enjoyed your cruise and got home safely!!

Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. I bet the work on my desk has really piled up, since there is no one to do it while I'm gone. We DID book another cruise, though, so at least I have that to look forward to!

Hi everyone,

We just got home. :sad1: It was a great vacation from start to finish.

It was great to have met so many of you on the cruise. You all made the cruise extra special in different ways. Thanks for sharing your lives the past year and a half and helping make the time go by a little easier. There were so many I didn't get to meet and wish I did.

Maybe we will run into each other on another cruise. We booked the Fantasy Dec 8th, 2012. Excited to see the ship decorated for the holidays.

I'll post some pics in the next week or so once we get back into the daily grind.

WOW! Just got back to Colorado a few hours ago and we are exhausted! This was my 3rd cruise, but my 1st being a Diser, and I have to say how wonderful you all are! I'm sorry I didnt have the chance to meet a lot of you. Usually my kids love the kids club and spend a lot of time there, but this year they wanted to hang out with me! I have to say I loved it thought, because at 11 and 13 I know that won't be the case for long.

Anyway, about the Fish Extender, this was my first time doing that too and it was so much fun! I loved the things we received! There was so much thought and caring put into everything. I didn't realize that I was supposed to put my name on my gift- I thought it was totally secret! Also, I had a snafu and somehow didn't pack the pirate door decorations that were supposed to go with my little pirate goody bags. Arggg! In lieu of that gift (which I'm saving for the Dec 28 2012 cruise that we already booked) I wanted to offer all of the FE participants a free Angel Reading.

I don't know if you are familiar with Doreen Virtue, or Angel Therapy, but you can go to angeltherapy.com or google her for more information. I am a certified Angel Therapist, that is my full time work, and I'm listed on her website under Colorado. I'm happy to do a 15 min. phone or email reading as my gift to you, if you you are interested. Just email me at lora@pyramidfusion.com and put "FE or DisBoards" in the message line so I know who you are.

Enough for now!! Welcome ashore fellow castaways, and let me know if any of you booked the Dec. 28th 2012 New Years Eve cruise on the Fantasea!

Lora

That is awesome!!! My daughter Caroline and I did have the opportunity to see your mother ride the AquaDuck on Pirate Night. She did great!! Caroline and I were actually the ones riding the AquaDuck by ourselves during the Pirate Night festivities for a while and kept going over and over (and over) and
without any wait, in case anyone else out there noticed. We had a blast!

It was a pleasure to get to meet y'all, starting from the Country Inn & Suites on Sunday Morning and also seeing you in the shows. I heard that you helped save some seats for my wife and girls (Caroline and Gracen) during one of the shows that I did not attend (for the second time). I ended up taking them to the matinee while my wife ended up taking them back for the 8:30 performances! Caroline enjoyed dressing up as Belle and Tinker Bell and Gracen dressed up as Rapunzel and Snow White.

We also enjoyed getting to meet Disneyholic at the terminal. My wife had us wearing lime green shirts the first day without knowing the significance of the color. Pretty funny! :lmao:

Overall, we had a great cruise and can't wait to go back again. We did book a dummy booking while onboard, but will likely transfer the date to May/June 2013 once available.

Oh well. Back to reality and work this morning. Take care everyone!

We were so excited when we booked this, our first Disney Cruise...and shortly after, we found this DIS board and the entire experience became an incredible adventure for all of us. You allowed us into your family and taught us about excursions, dining rotations, Palo/Remy, stateroom location & preferences, boarding, FE's and the gift exchange and our meet. Armored with all of this knowledge, we got on board to a whirlwind of excitement and adrenaline, but I don't know where the time went, because we didn't make our meeting time with you and don't even know if we met anyone from this group. This was our only unfortunate experience to a perfect vacation. I know I did meet Virginia...poor woman, she opened her door when we were leaving our gifts for them and voila! there I was. Thank you Virginia for all you did and thank you Chuck, you worked so hard for all of us and we are incredibly grateful to you both. Perhaps you met us or our children, maybe they bothered you or stepped on your toes, I'm sorry for that. They had an incredible time and are pleased that we took advantage of booking another cruise, we are thinking some time in 2013 will work. Our journey, adventure was much more special because of all of you.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Look at my "ticker"!!! Apparently I'm going back on the Dream in about a year! (I SERIOUSLY WISH!!!!!!!!!!!) :lmao:

hey gang

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have so enjoyed having this group to chat with, etc the last several months! I doubt the DisBoards leaves these "meet" threads open forever, right? Even though some of us may not cross paths in person again I'd sure love to keep in touch anyways! Some of you have become a very important part of my day

So anyways, wasn't sure what to do so I decided to create a group on Facebook for us all to hang out on. I'm still tweaking it and not sure I have it right, but we'll see. I made it a private group where I have to approve the members, etc. So I need someone to go to their facebook account, search for First to Dream It Twice Friends and see if it pulls a page up for you and if there is a place where you can request to join the group! (Tell me your DisName in the request so I can figure out who you are).

If you do this, and there is no place to request to join the group, let me know and I'll play with it some more!!

Thanks!
Angie

I sent the request but it didn't give me an option to put my DisneyFool ID info in. I *think* I'm the only 'Denise" in our group though.......What a great idea- we can all share pictures, etc.....

looks like the FB requests are working, so feel free to join the fun! We've got this thread to enjoy for who knows how long, but can always hang on FB together as well.

Have a great day everyone. I'm seriously not doing anything but uploading/editing pictures...then putting them on flash drive for the inlaws, putting them on winkflash for book-making, putting some on flickr for future trip report, oh and getting ready to start my blog about my trip. guess I will have disney on the brain a bit longer :)

I wish I had discovered this board sooner too. I re-booked for May 20, but I'll probably change it. When it's set in stone, I'll see if I can get involved before we leave. I see that someone on this board was in the room 3 doors down from us, so that may have been fun.

I love your story about cast members who remember you. I'm amazed that they remember their guests given how many people they see. I'm going to add this to my trip report, but it's worth telling twice. I was waiting for the Pirate show at 7:45 (I don't remember the name). For some reason, I turned around and saw a lady with a name tag that read "Melanie - United States". I was on the Wonder 2 years ago and I was 99% sure she was my ship tour guide. So, I left my really good spot for the show and said to her "Were you on the Wonder?" She said yes, and remembered me! I couldn't believe it! She gave me a tip to make sure I could see the stage well after the fireworks, but she didn't spoil it for me. She works in Concierge now, so I only saw her once more during the cruise and I thanked her for the tip. It's a small world, isn't it?

Speaking of which, I hope all of you got to hear all SEVEN of the ship's horns!

Robert

It is amazing how they remember you. The woman who was working the booking desk (brain fart on her name) remembered me from last October. I teased her that she probably says that to everyone. She said my beard was much thinner last year. Guess she did remember me....

Hello all ! Didn't get to meet any of you on this trip - did get on this forum several times just getting caught up with all the excitement but never chimed in - wanted to meet you all at the first greet and meet but forgot when and where it was !!! :rotfl: Anyway, it was a great cruise, and we re-booked for 5/26/12 7 night on the Fantasy. Already looking forward to our 4th cruise ! :cool1: I also sent a request on Facebook to join the page. Hope to meet and correspond with you all better on there ! Great idea !

hey gang,

Just a quick FYI...winkflash (dot com) has a flat rate sale going on their hardcover books? I think it's $20-ish for a 8x10ish book up to 100 pages (which is a lot). This is a great way to get your photos put in something quickly so you have something to browse thru while you work on your scrapbook for two years, and instead of sticking your pics on a hard drive to sit. We have done several of these books and pulled them out many times.

I've used winkflash for years for my prints, etc. It's pretty easy to use. If you download their "transporter" then you can dump your photo folder into it for an easy upload. Pick the book you want, choose that album in your winflash account to work from, and joila, you are making the book. you can pick different colors/textures for the "background", different picture layouts and sizes, captions and journaling, etc. Pretty handy. I think the sale lasts 2 more weeks.

talk to you soon!

To my fellow Trekkies, anyone have a transporter? We are a half an hour away from home driving & I just want to be there already. We will be pulling in around 1:30 am according to the GPS. We left GA at 9:30 am.
