DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

We are on our way. Got up at 2 this morning and we are leaving now at 2:30. Hopefully we will meet some of you tonight!

I officially hate all of you that are already IN Orlando or PC on vacation or ON YOUR WAY to Orlando or PC, while I sit here drinking my coffee just seething with JEALOUSLY!!!!

My body can't seem to sleep past 4am this week. Must be my internal clock kicking into gear so I can whip DH and my kids into the car tomorrow and actually be the ONLY one who feels rested (I am the early bird in this house followed by my son - DH and DD would sleep all day if I let them).

So... those of you that get on board early - WARN THE BARTENDERS THAT I'M ON MY WAY!!!!

OK... so remember - if anyone is looking for me on board find Juan Valdez (yes, the coffee guy) and think "hey - that guy really does look like Juan Valdez only with a bit less hair" and I should be close by! You should see him with the beach hat he used to have - I wanted to buy him a burrow!!!! (I really DO love my husband but this early in the morning I need someone to target and the kids are innocently sleeping while he's snoring loud enough to wake the neighbors!)

Denise- very funny...love reading your posts!! We'll I'm still here too! Our flight is tommorw at 6am! Sounded good when I booked it!
Still have to put the clothes in the suitcase, wash the last items that DH just needs to have.

I didn't get to print the name tag or the iron on for t-shirt as ran out of ink it was printing them in some funky colors! Oh, well, we have the bracelets!

However, I have (to me anyways) a lovely day planned of some last min. errands, plant my flowers and then spending some time with mum going to lunch.

We arrived safely but we experienced many twists and turns along the way. Yesterday during the day was uneventful,, and we headed to the airport at 4:00. Then I got a text telling us the flight was delayed about 20 minutes, not a big deal. Checkin went very quick, walked right up, checked the bags and then off to security. No lines here either which was surprising for a holiday weekend. Received another text we are delayed an hour. We just went for dinner so the delay was easy. Everyone gets seated on the plane and there was a little commotion with a man at the front of the plane. At the time didn’t know what the problem was but he finally walked to the back of the plane and took a seat.

The doors closed and we start to taxi out. The pilot tells us there are 20 planes ahead of us, typical for Philly, so we all settle in for the wait. All of the sudden everyone starts to smell smoke. Well, the man who caused the commotion earlier was apparently 3 sheets to the wind and decided he needed to have a cigarette and lights up. Of course there was lots of yelling and the FA came to see what was going on. So there we sit. We finally got clearance and we had to return to another gate at this point. Security gets on the plane and he is escorted off. Everyone clapped and sang nah nah nah nah hey hey hey goodbye. So the doors close and we are all thinking finally we are going to take off. NOT

The doors re-open and the Philly police need to take a statement. From the people sitting next to him. The cop said something funny, boy this aisle is a tight squeeze, well maybe it’s because of all the donuts. I say this because it seemed obvious…lol The doors finally close and we head out again. Only to have the pilot tells us that there are 25 planes a head of us. Out of our control, but after the commotion, everyone’s nerves were a little on edge. We finally take off and the pilot actually makes up some time and we were at the gate in Orlando at 11:00. Hopped on the monorail and we were at baggage claim pretty quick. First time we ever had a long wait for baggage, must have been the time of night and the weather. Luggage finally arrives at 11:50 and we headed over to the Magical Express only to have to sit there for half an hour waiting for the bus to get full.

Normally all these delays we take in stride but after a long day and all the drama we were a little tired. We arrived at OKW at 1:00 and were in our room at 1:30. And of course my body clock gets me up at 6:00AM so I am sure I will be taking a nap later, as long as it’s not falling asleep in the sun..lol.

Sorry this was long but I will use this as part of my trip report.

Time to get cleaned up so we can head out for a walk and get something to eat.

Oh Chuck!! That is NOT a good experience at all . I think you deserve a jagarbomb after all that tomorrow on board!

Unfortunately, my DH just turned in after wanting to take more than he needed of ibuprophen. He has a pretty bad headache so we will not be able to make the M&G tonight at DTD We may not even make our dinner reservations. I would rather him be refreshed tomorrow than to overdo it today with a headache. I think he may be slightly dehydrated. We went to the other water park typhoon lagoon today. we left by 1 because it got a little too crowded and I think the headache was starting to come on then. See everyone tomorrow. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this thread

Oh my ACHING back - it's killing me BUT I am all packed. Now I just need to wait for the Packing Natzi to come home from work and "OKAY" everything. I had to weigh every freakin' bag. He wanted me to get everything into 3 bags - NOT. 1 for each of us and tough doo doo for him!!!! I'd tell him to leave HIS bag home BUT he has all the FE Stuff in his bag! Mine was full of shoes!!!

Now I am practicing for our cruise by eating everything in the fridge that is going to go bad while we are gone. Especially the wine - that will go bad right????

I'm telling you these friggin' kids are driving me INSANE. Try packing with a 5 and 7 year old wanting to 'help', complaining "this is boring" and wreaking havoc all over the flipping house while I'm up there shifting stuff from bag to bag, reweighing them, doing it again........ Now that the packing is done, kids are bathed, fed, and ready for bed I have to clean the house AGAIN! They WERE well behaved right after Ariel called this morning - they were through the moon actually. Now I want to SEND THEM to the same moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Signing off - will check via iPhone while on our way!!! Can't wait to meet everyone!

Finished wrapping our FE gifts before dinner (finally!), Now Sitting at Radisson pool bar with GreatWhiteNorth (Angie).,hope a few others join us..if not, we will see you tomorrow!

Hi everyone. We had a great day, although it was pretty hot. We had lunch at WPE and then came back to OKW and relaxed by the pool. We met Angie and her husband Matt while they were checking in this morning.

We had a small greet at DTD. Michelle (babyjosie) and Josie, Teresa (zimaaaah), Don and their daughters Riley and Alex, and Angie(abcangie87), Matt and their daughters Hannah and Brooke and her inlaws. We had a nice time getting to know each other after we have been chatting for so long. It will be great to see familiar faces on the ship. Dinner again at WPE, best bang for the buck on the quick serve dining plan in my opinion.

We only got about 4 hours sleep last night so I am hitting the sack early. They are picking up our luggage before 8:00AM. Ugh

Hello friends from my sunburned self!!! Man it was HOT today! We got to OKW about 1025, and of course room wasn't ready. We spent from 1130-230 at the pool! Even participated in some pool games and dance party. For the record, I shall not be shaking my booty in my swimsuit on the cruise tho I did it with dd7 today which made her so happy!

Such a joy meeting some disfriends today even with DH grumbling about "schedule on vaca" and yadayadyada. The man is just not as social and wonderful ad me, what can I say?

Philatiger, QOWeddings and us are on DCL bus from here that doesn't leave here till 1245!!! we are not thrilled about that! If we miss the meet I do hope to catch up with u all elsewhere on the cruise!

Well dd7 is sacked out and DH is starting to snore. Dd3 is still trying to squirm closet and closer to me and just not settling down. Maybe if I turn off the iPhone? See u tomorrow

Well, after a long drive, leaving PA at 9:30 last night, we arrived at the DoubleTree in Melbourne at 9:30 tonight. We slept in a roadside rest from 3:30-7am and each dozed as the other drove. I am on another thread that is for 2000+ roundtrip drivers. On there they talk about leaving PA & getting to WDW in 15-18 hours. Maybe we're getting old or we just don't push the pedal to the medal the way they must. We usually stick to within 4 mph of the limit. A lot of them admit to going faster. I just don't like the idea of ruining my vacation with a ticket or an accident caused by speed. I can think of better ways to spend my money with Disney!
Our room is on the 8th floor with an ocean view from the balcony. I will be walking the beach tomorrow morning with a cup of coffee and watching to see if we can see the Dream coming into port. A few years ago we stayed at Cocoa Beach and watched the Magic come in from the beach.

Can't wait to meet everyone tomorrow. Almost time to hit the sack. See you all later.

This would have been our cabin gift. A mini flash light, two packs each of kleenix, alcohol swabs, wet wipes, band aids, safety pins, rubber bands, hair bands, and four clothes pins. I remember the interviews of the folks on the cruise ship that lost it's power, they couldn't even see in the hallways it was so dark. We stole the idea for these off of the Dis boards and modified it some.

We pulled things out of this for each child that was age and sex appropriate. Carol had way too much fun picking all of this stuff out off of The Oriental Trading Company site.

Everyone enjoy the cruise. We are enjoying having to chase Stevie around to try and make him lie down and rest. He is winning the battle.
